Turkey's response to the situation in the region - statements on the creation of medium-range ballistic missiles

20
About the beginning of the process of building medium-range missiles was reported recently, some members of the Turkish government. According to these statements, missiles with a range of 2.5 thousands of kilometers will be created in Turkey in the near future. Some Turkish experts in the field of armaments consider this decision irrational, but the program to build ballistic missiles has already been launched, and no criticism will help to stop its action.

Turkey's response to the situation in the region - statements on the creation of medium-range ballistic missiles

Professor Y. Altinbasakas from the state research institute TUBITAK considers this decision to be a necessary and correct decision. Although Turkey’s ability to build capacity and achieve its goal looks uncertain. He also notes that this decision - the design and production of its own missiles capable of achieving the goal at a distance of 2.5 thousands of kilometers, was accepted at the request of Turkish Prime Minister R. Erdogan at the recent meeting of the High Technology Council. The professor told reporters that the Turkish designers successfully constructed and built a BD to 500 kilometers, which successfully passed the tests at the test site and showed an average QUO equal to 5 meters. The next stage - the creation and production of MRBD to 1500 kilometers, which is almost complete, it remains only to conduct field testing in 2012 year. After the test, we can talk about the continuation of the program and the creation of MRBM to 2500 kilometers. And although the professor is confident of the continuation of the program, many analysts are skeptical about this statement.

TUBITAK is Turkey’s main ballistic missile design center. The first ballistic missile created in TUBITAK is J-600T Yıldırım I. It has a range of 150-185 kilometers. The next Yıldırım 2 rocket had a range of 300 kilometers. Now, the range of the rocket in 500 kilometers, possibly achieved at the expense of a smaller mass BG or other minor modifications. In reality, a fundamentally new rocket has not been created, and therefore the claimed range of thousands of kilometers in 2.5 causes similar skepticism. And the tests conducted BRMD at a distance of 500 kilometers, were, for some reason imperceptible and not illuminated. Most likely, these statements on the creation of MRBR are the answer to the current situation in the region. This is despite the fact that Turkey is committed to possessing the most up-to-date Air Force, it invests a lot of effort to increase the Air Force. In addition, since 97, Turkey has been part of the MTCR - the controlling authority for rocket technology. It was founded in 87 by the United States, France, Italy, Britain, Canada, Germany and Japan, as an informal and voluntary organization. Purpose of creation - the non-proliferation of unmanned air systems as a means of delivery weapons mass destruction over long distances. It was the creation of the MTCR that became the main brake on the creation of such unmanned systems - Iraq, Argentina and Egypt stopped development of the ballistic missile program at one time, South Africa, Taiwan, Brazil and South Korea postponed or stopped their space and rocket programs. And the Czech Republic and Poland, in order to demonstrate readiness to join NATO and MTCR, simply eliminated their arsenal of ballistic missiles. But this community has weak links. Pakistan and India, North Korea and Iran, despite opposition from members of the MTCR, are successfully developing this area. These states today have MRBM with a range of not less than one thousand kilometers, and develop them further. Iran, which has an agreement on military mutual aid with Syria, supplies some components of such missiles and to it.

Therefore, this statement, most likely, is a kind of challenge to Iran and Syria. The countries of the region have to respond to the situation and the statements of their neighbors as the situation becomes more complex. The statements of the Iranian authorities provoke Turkey, whose behavior has recently become increasingly aggressive. The MTCR community is likely to begin to actively block Turkey’s access to the procurement of necessary components, and it will be difficult for it to achieve its goals of creating MRBMs.

This is wonderful! A great reason to withdraw from the INF Treaty! Mid-range on the southern flank, a NATO country, immediately exit.

I agree it's time to get out already. The United States may be cutting, and its allies are only arming themselves. Insolent however.

since NATO is a continuation of the US Army, the creation of the RS and MD in Turkey is a violation of the agreement on their reduction.

Could have spat more. The country of NATO is creating weapons, in the creation of which we are limited by an agreement with the country of NATO, which our SD and MD missiles cannot in principle threaten. At the same time, SD missiles in Turkey pose an immediate threat to us. Masachism bordering on the betrayal of national interests. I will add that the amers themselves removed their SD and MD missiles from Europe and Turkey by agreement with Khrushchev after the Caribbean crisis. And mu ... k Gorbi cut our democratization of the USSR.

Dismantling of Soviet missile launchers, loading them onto ships and withdrawal from Cuban territory took 3 weeks. After making sure that the Soviet Union launched the missiles, President Kennedy on November 20 gave the order to end the blockade of Cuba. A few months later, American missiles were withdrawn from Turkey as "obsolete."

In general, Russia needs to denounce all those idiotic and treacherous agreements on limiting the INF, which were signed by Gorbachev, and restore the Oka and other promising systems.

Rashid, yes Oka, this is a direct upgrade to Iskander, only with a reduced range under the contract. Dalai Iskander-K will have a range of 480 km, and then there’s more.

In strategic offensive arms, it was also necessary to reduce the range of the tomahawk to 500. Our politicians haven’t come up with this, although it’s the tomahawks that first strike at air defense, and then only aviation

Not strategic offensive arms, but the INF Treaty. And sea missiles are not related to it.

The yellow stripes on the rocket body (top photo) are very similar to the yellow tape, as if it was wrapped by it for fixing on the carrier. wink

I doubt that they will close access. They will close it in public, and secretly they will give it to the Turks. I, IMHO, had the opinion that Erdogan was specially put into power so that he would become a provocateur of a big war. Like Hitler. And the first victim of Islamic Hitler: Syria.

The INF Treaty applies only to ground-based missiles. Can the Turks develop the BRDS for the Navy?

Guys! I understand that now I’ll blurt it off topic, BUT !!! An 8-10 15A18M missile (fully loaded) ensured the destruction of 80% of the industrial potential of the United States and most of the population. !!! And we have 180 of these in silos! It seems enough for everyone .....

I completely agree with the first post. It is necessary to withdraw from the INF Treaty. Moreover, the production of a 2-stage rocket is more profitable than a 3-stage rocket. Anyway, what's the point of launching ICBMs across Europe or Japan, for example, when it’s easier and more profitable to launch a ballistic missile defense?
Or somehow mask this exit from the contract, say by saying that we "we make our own missile defense system based on stages 2 and 3 from Topol-M"

Firstly, it is wasteful to fire ICBMs across Europe, the countries of the Middle East and Japan, and secondly, there have long been reasons to withdraw from this outdated INF Treaty. NATO troops are practically near St. Petersburg. US nuclear bombs have not been removed from Europe. China has an INF Treaty. The United States is creating missile defense missiles on which, purely theoretically, it is possible to install nuclear warheads. So you need to withdraw from the contract!

This is a serious signal. I don’t think that this news would be (new) for our intelligence, but the Turks with their imperial abilities and unbalanced top of the top can turn out to be a bone in the throat. Yes, even with these missiles.

Oh, how are they bursting into Europe? These Turks are ready for everything, as they are posing as a super-democratic-secular-enlightened state. it just won’t come out of them Europeans.
