CERV hybrid car

25

CERV-Clandestine Extended Range Vehicle is a lightweight, diesel-electric hybrid vehicle that reaches a maximum speed of 130 km / h. It is designed for special operations reconnaissance, support and target designation. CERV has a very silent movement and is one of the most "green" army vehicles. CERV was developed in collaboration with California-based company Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide.

CERV is armed with a 12.7-mm machine gun, has no armor and, therefore, does not provide any protection against small weapons. All-wheel drive car is driven by diesel-electric (JP8) hybrid engine Quantum Q-Force. The Q-Force is a hybrid design that uses a 1.4-liter diesel engine paired with a 75 kW generator that, in combination with power from lithium-ion batteries, powers the DC motor 100 kW. Quantum has developed a unique lightweight body that integrates the Q-Force hybrid transmission, the weight of the car is only 2267 kg.

A large cargo platform is installed in the rear of the car behind the passenger seat. To carry out a series of tests under this program, a total of six prototypes of the car were built. This vehicle has a torque of 6800 Nm, which allows it to overcome 60-percentage lifts and water barriers 0.8 meter depth. The Q-Force Hybrid Transmission reduces fuel consumption by 25 percent compared to conventional vehicles of the same size and weight, and also significantly reduces carbon dioxide emissions and reduces thermal visibility.

CERV incorporates the latest technologies for improving battery performance, consisting in the use of new materials and software, which ultimately improves performance and range. CERV is certified for transporting a number of military transport aircraft and is currently the only certified hybrid vehicle for transporting Osprey CV-22 converters. The crew of the car is 4 person.

Kubelvagen from Uncle Sam. And the garden was piled up ... And of course, the decrease in CO is the main advantage, so necessary in the war. Less-More-More-expensive!

as I understand it, this is an intermediate, experimental machine and it won’t get into the troops, but it can serve in the future as the basis for the development of such equipment !!

CO is a publicity stunt. Owned as all the hype around hybrids.
The law of conservation of energy, as far as I remember, has not changed lately .... Or have I missed something ...? belay
The only difference between hybrids is that the engine operates at maximum efficiency for a longer time ... However, for this he has to carry heavy batteries and electric drive motors ... So the usual "green" wiring ...

in the military field, a hybrid has a number of advantages, first of all, a modular design and maintainability, and secondly, a decrease in fuel consumption due to optimization of the generator. and thirdly, the most important is the use of 2-8 generators that are unified between all wheeled and tracked vehicles, and heavy batteries are unnecessary; you need a supercapacitor as an energy buffer.

Maybe this is a miracle of technology somewhere in the army and may find application, but its task list is clearly limited. It is more suitable for patrolling objects around the perimeter.

And why is the automatic rifle in the holder blue? New weapon glamor? But why then the machine gun is not red, maybe someone knows?

And why is the automatic rifle in the holder blue?

      For blue mb?

In general, of course, it’s interesting that the engine is such, but for me it’s not CERV but a readable CERF !!

Because the layout, in order to understand how and where it will be convenient to put it / where to get it

The machine is good because of the great autonomy. But darling. It seems that some special forces will do.

Where the pancake autonomy from? Does she work in the air? Or did diesel efficiency become 97%?
Well, I understand in the West this wiring works, there physics can finally not be considered for science ... Everything is entirely humanities ..
But here we ... everyone studied in the Soviet school, everyone took a physics course ... And so wholeheartedly believe in advertising ... I am surprised at you.

        Where the pancake autonomy from?

Let it be known to you, gifted with an unrivaled technical mind, that the term "autonomy" has at least two meanings. The first is the ability to operate any system without any outside help. This is an ideal concept and in nature there is no 100% autonomy and cannot be. The second meaning of this word is a designation of how long any system can work without external support. For example, the autonomy of nuclear submarines is usually about 3 months (in this case, the limitation is imposed rather not by the mechanism itself, but by the people who are part of the system).
So before you throw tantrums about "how stupid all are" try to think a little yourself first.

Where does autonomy come from? Is it clear now?
Please explain on the fingers. Since you are such a specialist, and I apparently do not understand anything in cars and in particular in engines.
          Act! A must follow B ...

Just do not try to arrange an explanation of the meaning of a word.
          Russian is my native language.

everything is simple, the matter is in the generators, they work in optimal conditions, and a conventional ICE burns too much fuel during operation. Roughly speaking, the energy that is lost during the idle operation of the engine and during acceleration-braking of the machine is stored in the buffer and consumed more efficiently. Here it is necessary to make a reservation that the use of internal combustion engines in generators and even without an energy buffer completely kills all the savings, rather, on the contrary, it increases fuel consumption. Even if the hybrid has more consumption, even if it is more expensive, you still need to switch to a hybrid transmission to unify the generators between the entire wheeled and tracked vehicles (here, the technicians will be happy to rearrange the generator from the KamAZ or the tiger to the tank fellow ).

So: down with the machine gun, batteries too. On the platform a mattress and heifers, in containers - vodka. Here tada it buit the very thing! (Not in the know, is it possible to put fishing rods in the holder for weapons?)

I wonder how often do they use a car for reconnaissance? And if it’s not for reconnaissance, then it’s not needed, it has an advantage only in noiselessness, as I understand it, and on the basis of geometry it is necessary to explore the highway

In my opinion stupidly. Of course, I Heard that the doors of our UAZ do not protect against bullets or fragments. But to ride without them, a normal roof and a windshield ..... But what if you are not the first in the convoy? Swallow dust Or rain (although I admit a tarp. In short, not for our strip 100% Yes, and in general it is doubtful.
