Infrared camouflage can turn a car into a tank

Infrared camouflage can turn a car into a tankEltics has demonstrated its unique design - Black Fox infrared camouflage. The novelty in the field of masking can mislead the enemy, having the ability to turn in the infrared range, for example, a truck into a tank or an armored personnel carrier, reports Cnews.ru.

The video presented by company representatives shows how a Land Rover car equipped with active Black Fox panels acquires a silhouette on the imager’s screen tank. Naturally, the dimensions of the jeep are slightly smaller than that of an armored vehicle weighing 60 tons, but this perfectly demonstrates the capabilities of the new camouflage system.

The structure of Black Fox includes infrared cameras with all-round visibility and active heat-emitting panels that “draw” the thermal image for the surrounding area. This allows you to completely mask the thermal radiation that the vehicle itself emits. Naturally, tanks equipped with 1500 horsepower engines emit a large amount of hot air, and, apparently, they will have to use special devices for heat dissipation, similar to those used on helicopters. But despite this, this type of disguise was a real breakthrough in military affairs.

The system of active camouflage Black Fox allows not only to hide the car on the ground, but also to imitate various vehicles, which was shown in the new video. For example, you can significantly increase the heat for light wheeled vehicles, making them BMP or tanks. This gives great scope for tactical decisions. A group of light cars equipped with Black Fox, can create the illusion of the presence of a tank group. And at the same time, tanks, also equipped with infrared camouflage systems, can secretly enter the direction of a real strike. At night, when reliable target identification is possible only with a thermal imager, Black Fox can provide a significant advantage.

And recently there was evidence of another development of the company Eltics in the field of active infrared camouflage. A completely transparent surface has been created, which can be used as a windshield of automobiles, but at the same time it can perform the functions of active masking of the infrared type.

And how much will this pleasure raise the price tag of the tank?

According to the assurances of Eltics, Black Fox is not sophisticated in use and does not need a serious modernization of equipment - the system can be mounted on existing armored personnel carriers or tanks without any adjustments to their design. It is also known that serial samples of the new disguise will cost quite inexpensively.

The Swedish enemy is sitting, looking at the thermal imager, and here such real Swedish guys on the jeeps are driving to the front line. Purely understand the concepts. In the camp of the enemy there was a commotion and panic, because few saw jeepaks on the front line.

In the first seconds it is similar to the Soviet MS-1, I think not everyone is so dumb and will lead to it.

It is curious that Black Fox can be used not only to disguise equipment, but also to mislead the enemy. For this, data on the typical thermal radiation of several types of equipment are entered into the database of the computer system.

it seems like inflatable tanks and other military equipment are produced in Russia. which in the thermal imager and in other spectra look like real, from all sides.
    much cheaper and better

But can this inflatable technique be able to move around the battlefield just like a car? or will it help to disguise the tank as a car? not thinking
