This oversized SGK, which is structurally executed on the AKS 74U platform, combines not only two types of shots (a grenade and a rifle cartridge), but also two main indicators for reducing the sound characteristics of a shot - the distribution of gunpowder gases and their localization.
A machine with a shortened barrel (modification of AKSB 74U) is adapted to use the BS-30 1-mm silent “grenade launcher”, which was used in the “Silence” SGK with AKM PBS-1, which showed good test results.
The grenade is inserted into the grenade launcher, which works on the principle of localization of powder gases, from the muzzle of the barrel. The flight of a grenade is carried out by pushing it with a piston under the action of a projectile cartridge created on the basis of the cartridge 7,62x53R. The clip on the 8 of such ammunition is designed in the grenade launcher handle, the cartridges are fed manually and sent by means of a bolt moving in the longitudinal direction. The standard Canaryka grenade has a cumulative effect, ensuring the penetration of 1,5 cm - steel sheet with the subsequent spraying of hot gases, creating a so-called "Cumulative effect". The grenade launcher weighs 1,7 kg. The assembly sighting frame of the product is structurally fixed on the bracket of the mechanical sighting device of the machine gun, which uses a US bullet for firing with an initial speed not exceeding the sound threshold. To reduce recoil when fired, the back plate of the applied part is equipped with a rubber damper.
On the barrel of the machine is mounted on the bracket device silent and flameless shooting PBS-4, which has a low weight. Without the obturator, made of rubber materials, shooting is conducted as regular ammunition, and US ammunition.
