War on the threshold

Today the war came close to the borders of Russia. You do not need to be a great strategist not to understand: tomorrow, having stepped over them, it will begin with us. Leaving out of the scope of the article idle talk on the topic: “when?” And “why?”, We will focus on finding the answer to the question: “Is our Army ready for it?”. Again, this is not about the level of equipment or the provision of modern models of equipment and weapons, but about the level of combat readiness of servicemen - specifically: the readiness of soldiers and officers ... to die in battle.

If only there was no war

Alas, we were deceived for many years, calling the Soviet army a school of life. In fact, the army, even for many years not at war, is rather a school of death. Here (especially in the army more contractual) are taught to fight professionally: that is, to destroy with less losses for oneself - to kill the enemy. But the enemy does not sleep, so losses are inevitable on both sides. For some reason, this elementary truth is often ignored by soldiers of “peace armies”, and their relatives have to remember it when the soldiers themselves fall into the number of battle losses.

Severely, but fairly, as soon as a war can be, called once a continuation of politics. It is said 200 years ago, but what has changed? They are still trying to drive the war “into the framework”, outlined by some pieces of paper in the form of treaties, non-aggression pacts, but it always easily breaks these obstacles. And the more humanity is zealous in its peacemaking efforts, the more sophisticated the process of killing their own kind becomes. New wars do not become more humane, and the killing of citizens of another country with the creation of weapons of mass destruction put on stream. All this is said to go to the main idea - are our soldiers ready to protect the people, the country and die if necessary? After all, in the family, school and even in the army we were convinced for a long time that the main thing, even in battle, is to survive! At any price! And this is correct in essence, and in no way contradicts logic, meaning, and human nature. Is it not for that mother gave birth to us? Life is the most valuable thing we have! Life is great! And given that the personnel army consists of men and women of reproductive age, and the leadership of the Armed Forces set a course for its rejuvenation, the question should be removed by itself. Let the Army march - chatter weapons only in parades and pleases the eye with spectacular “window dressings”: various air shows and tank biathlon. I, like, I’m sure you are “for!” With both hands. If it were not for one “but”: the war (be it wrong) comes in spite of the results of the most legitimate referendums on peace!

“If a war starts, I’ll quit”

The army is currently not deprived of the attention of the leadership of the country and the Ministry of Defense: exercises and trainings are constantly held in all its branches of command: tactical, operational and strategic; rearmament is in full swing, a package of laws has been adopted that stimulate interest in the service. All this implies a correspondingly high level of military and moral-psychological training of the military, therefore the country looks at its defenders with hope. I don’t want to doubt that our Army is still “stronger than all”, but life itself involuntarily makes us look into the future with alarm.

The fact is that after being laid off after 27 years of service, while continuing to live in a military camp, communicate with servicemen, I have the opportunity to study the interests and views of military personnel. Hence, doubts that scrape the hearts of the actual combat readiness of our soldiers and officers — that is, their willingness to protect the country, the people, if necessary, at the cost of their lives. And all the checks and “alarms”, according to which the level of combat readiness of subunits, formations, armies and districts is assessed and which surrender, as a rule, to “good and excellent”, have nothing to do with it. To the question: “Will today's Russian army stand to the death on the sacred frontiers of the Fatherland?” Only time will answer.

And why do I actually doubt it? Wary of the motivation for the service of the current military. I rarely find people among them who correspond to the high vocation of the defender of the Motherland, sincerely love their profession, are proud of it, and, as a result, live in the service even outside it: it was these “campaigners” that were enough for my officer corps and my father — also a military professional . Today, more and more often come across "businessmen" who came to the army with selfish motives. What is the reason? Complying with the decree of the President - Supreme Commander on transferring the Army to a contract basis, today it widely opened the gates of the checkpoint not only for "real men", as poster calls say, but also for all people of both sexes, including foreigners, who want to , if you do not improve your financial situation, then solve the housing and other issues. The fact that for the sake of this will have to risk life, to substitute the head modestly silent. Moreover, neither in the contract nor in the oath does anyone demand this: “I, (last name, first name, patronymic), solemnly swear allegiance to my Fatherland - the Russian Federation. I swear to follow piously the Constitution of the Russian Federation, strictly comply with the requirements of military regulations, orders of commanders and chiefs. I swear to fulfill the military duty worthily, to courageously defend the freedom, independence and constitutional order of Russia, the people and the Fatherland. ”

Today, the Army is no longer associated with feats, courage, generosity and danger, but with the office to solve housing and social problems: you go to work, called service, and the state undertakes to provide you with a set of benefits. But these benefits in the form of apartments and cars need alive. Why are they dead? Therefore, we had to hear such confessions of professional defenders, said in their spiritual simplicity: “And if a war starts, I will quit.”

Golden Double Bass

But do the state need defenders with such an approach to the case? After all service, service is, first of all: dedication, self-restraint and self-sacrifice, and not vice versa. And military service is a constant and complete readiness to lose something, to suffer somehow. And not only temporarily starving or not getting enough sleep, but giving all of oneself, all my life for others, for ideals, which at all times are not without reason called supreme. And therefore ideals have nothing to do with housing and financial issues that lie in another, lower plane. Well, it is impossible, in fact, to give life for an apartment? Shot from the hardship and adversity of the military quarters causes pity and is called the victim, and who fell in the battle for the Motherland deserves respect and is called a hero. This is the essence and courageous beauty of military service.

Romanticists, who went to the army to realize their youthful ideals and aspirations, which constituted the beauty and pride of military teams, according to military sociologists, (who have long been concerned about this alarm), are today less and less. And what do they do in the Army when all the romance disappears when confronted with the realities of service, where almost all colleagues, starting with the commanders, are obsessed with "grandmas": literally go with calculators, counting how much money is left until the end of the loan payment for a cool "car" "; how much has been accumulated in a personal account to buy an apartment and is there enough dough to hang out on holiday on some exotic islands? Alas, even such warriors today in many combat units are literally worth their weight in gold; here and there, they just do not blow dust particles away: God forbid they quit, what will spoil the indicators on the staffing of a part of them with contract soldiers. A familiar officer who served in one of the brigades that make up the rapid reaction force, with sadness and pain, told how, on command from above, they were forced to turn a blind eye to the various antics of the worn out "double basses". Even the most disciplined of them, exactly at 18.00, strive to leave home and accept the commanders' offers to enter the service on their "legal day off" with hostility.

"Look more often at the sky"

Alas ... the war is war, that its main task is to destroy the world, and with it all plans for the future and life in any variants. You were going to get married, just got an apartment and are planning to do some repairs or are waiting for a vacation to spend it in Bali, and here ... some kind of war. She does not only postpone our plans indefinitely: a non-played wedding, a postponed housewarming party or a trip to a resort. She often cancels life itself, which we love so much, we treasure and for the sake of the comfortable provision of which many went to serve in the Army! Therefore, to the disappointment of supporters of the contract army, I must say: a soldier who is burdened with solving his financial problems, to really fight (that is, to really risk his life) is very hard. This rule is repeatedly confirmed by all wars. The more the fighter is tied to the “ground”, the less one should expect from him feats of self-sacrifice. The more he is “cut off from the ground” - the higher his fighting spirit, contempt for death, the greater his fighting-readiness - the ability to die for ideals! "Look more often at Heaven, - my favorite bard Andrei Selivanov sings, - And in life everything will be different / Not in the sense of money and not in the sense of a dacha / A in the sense of bread and salt."

Take the events in Ukraine, where militias reinforced by volunteers and humanitarian aid from Russia are fighting, even if poorly trained, but the regular army of Ukraine, the national guard, the BTO, staffed for the most part with contract soldiers and volunteers. What is the difference between the Ukrainian security forces - the same, though confused, but Slavs - from ours? Worse armed and equipped? Do they have less money allowances or are they not patriots of their country? Bullshit! The equipment and weapons that they abandoned during the retreat indicate the opposite. And one of the main reasons (according to the interrogation of prisoners), on which the soldiers and officers went to war, was money. At the same time, judging by the abundance of national symbols on equipment and equipment, the Ukrainian army confidently occupies a leading position in the world in patriotism. Yes, and their battle cry: "Glory to Ukraine!" - "Heroes - Glory!" Quite spiritually lifted. Only here with combat readiness they are not so good. Have you heard anything about mass heroism or the exploits of the Ukrainian military? Me neither. But who will guarantee that our professionals, being surrounded by a situation or a situation involving a deadly risk, will act differently? At least our guardsmen of the paratroopers “lost” in Ukraine, being captured, looked no better than their Ukrainian colleagues.

We can also recall the events of twenty years ago - the “first Chechen war”, the participants of which are among us today: “... There were no feelings except one. And there was fear. Great fear. He ousted everything from the body, from the head, the brain. There was no longer a captain or a citizen Mironov, but there was only a lump of shit that was shaking with horror, which only wanted to survive. And that's all. Just survive. Here long-forgotten prayers are not remembered, but simply rushing into the darkness. Stumble, fly, without feeling pain from bruises, abrasions. Nothing but a chilling soul, a body of fear ..., ”recalled one of the participants in the notorious New Year’s storming of Grozny, Captain V. Mironov in his autobiographical book,“ I Was This War ”. The quotation is not intended to accuse him or someone of cowardice, because once in their place it is extremely difficult, it is almost impossible to control oneself, to control oneself.

However, “there were people in our time” who, in similar situations, having crossed the animal fear, committed the feat of self-sacrifice, preferring death to the shame of betrayal and disgrace! ... 84 of the Pskov paratrooper, who entered into an unequal battle with the superior forces of the enemy in February 2000 in the Argun gorge ... Guard captain 56 of the Guard RSB Aleksey Pavlenko, who closed the soldier with an unsuccessful throw of a military grenade in July 2010 ... Captured soldier border guard Yevgeny Rodionov, executed by thugs in May 1996 for his refusal to remove his cross ...

Such examples, thank God, in stories There is enough Russian Army, but all of them, albeit in the near, but past. And the war is on the threshold. So how ready is our army for it?

The article is kind of not very... sad or something. But I want to remind you of 41-45. yes, the red army was virtually destroyed in 3-4 months... well, who fought after that? We are all now businessmen, builders, farmers and others, when the time comes to defend our families and the country, we are unlikely to “twist the calculator”... we have it in our minds at the genetic level, to die for one’s own...well, there are always slugs and there will be. Where would we be without them.

[quote=Dart2027]There is another type of weapon that operates from the middle - the so-called. "color revolution". It seems to me that it is more likely in the near future. It’s worth preparing for it, including in the army[quote=Dart2027
The American "Color Revolution" is a more terrible and terrible weapon that eats away from the inside, like a cancerous tumor. The color revolution in our country is in full swing. In education, the worst thing is. Destroys one generation after another. Destroys the spirit, corrupts the younger generation and turns them into slaves who will sell everything for a dollar. The color revolution has been carried out in science. The highly effective model of connection between academic and industrial institutions that turned scientific ideas into hardware has been destroyed. A “color revolution” is underway in many industries. For example, in aviation. Poghosyan’s group is inexorably destroying civil aviation. With the help of color revolutions, completely painlessly for itself, America destroys entire countries, essentially turning them into slaves.

I don’t think that everything is so bad, yes there are disadvantages in the organization of mobilization, but the people living here at the right moment will remember who they are, that they are the children and grandchildren of the winners, and everything will fall into place, but God forbid, of course, that a threat appears that will awaken this a little in us forgotten spirit

Both the article and the comments to it are largely reminiscent of the well-known expression “in my time the sky was higher and the grass was greener,” but as practice shows at all times, in the face of real danger, patriotism and dedication never disappear and often the personal turns out to be less more important than the common cause of defending the Motherland. And the younger generation was scolded at all times, both under the Tsar and under the USSR.

There were too many negatives for the article...
Let me ask the “minus” a sacramental question - FOR WHAT???
Because a man who served 27 years in the cadres worries about the army that is now compared to the army in which he served? So, he’s telling the truth, albeit an unpleasant one.
I retired in 1994, although I could have served for a couple of years. No... I couldn't and I couldn't. And there is only one reason - the young officer core managed to quickly, in just a year or two, degenerate (not all of them, of course, but a lot, quite a lot, unfortunately), and we, the “old men,” against their background became some kind of mammoths and dinosaurs... And we continued to pull the strap with all our dedication, not thinking about money, or about cars and apartments...
The author of the article writes about what is painful, and he is not alone in his pain. After all, it is true that if a warrior does not have an understanding of what he is fighting for, he does not have the strength for a fearless and, perhaps, disastrous battle for him... Which is what the author writes about.
It is not enough to have new equipment and weapons, it is not enough to master them professionally. To defeat any (!!!) enemy, you need to have the Russian spirit, the Russian idea, faith in yourself, in your people, in the leadership of your country. You need to believe that if you die defending your Motherland, the survivors will bring the matter to Victory, no matter what.
Mercantile issues like salary, apartment, car,... and so on... are also important, no doubt. But the author recalls with nostalgia those good old days when people gave themselves completely to the service, and not for material handouts. We had enough certificates, which modern youth would call just pieces of paper...
It seems to me that the article was downvoted by people of more or less young age.
So I appeal to them: Respect old age (age) - it will come to you, respect life experience - which you may not have much of now. Respect the opinion of the person who wrote the article - it shows how worried he is about the negative traits that characterize the modern army. And what he tried to talk about in the article was previously jokingly called POMOSOS - the political and moral state of personnel.
So, the POMOSOS of the modern army needs to be brought to a level not lower than the Soviet one. More is possible, less is absolutely impossible!

I fully support you. Not all, but a significant part of the younger generation is beginning to see the light. These are mostly people over thirty who have already had their own experience. I judge by my son and his friends, whom I have been observing for more than thirty years. The moral component already means something to them.
Younger ages, in my opinion, are currently more unstable for the reason that you indicated - POMOSOS. Not in the army but in society in general. The topic of education is often discussed on the site. But unfortunately, the country as a whole does not pay due attention to this. But in vain.

Whatever the war, an understanding of the right direction will come, calm and confidence will come. The husk will fall off as it usually does and a bright, strong feeling will remain. The main thing is not ssat. The main thing in our people is the war genes and this is not pathos, Donbass should be homework for NATO and I think they drew the main conclusions for themselves. Wait a couple more years until the “power of Siberia” reaches its designed capacity and do not renew the contract with the EU. Without gas, the EU economy is not relevant and with it the NATO bloc. The Americans probably want to quarrel us with the EU in order not to annex the EU, but to weaken it so much that, with the rights of the strong, they do not pay the bills. Otherwise, why the Arab Spring, African refugees, homosexuality and the Arabization of the EU. Why a fascist nest in the EU liver area. Yes, then to set fire to the struggle of racial identity of the peoples of the EU countries against the background of social dependence of newcomers and competition in the labor market. Write civil wars and the weakening of the EU economy.

What kind of artist drew this? I suppose I wanted to go down in History, but now I think I’ve made it into History! It’s a miracle that you served in the army? If you served, in which service? The Russian soldier, be it an Admiral, a General, a Soldier or a Sailor, was never afraid of death, and we will never lose our training. Wherever we are in agriculture, in pedagogy, in rocket science, in shipbuilding! You will not disgrace us, you who do not know Russia. We will get the enemy out of the basements, we will destroy them with a horn or a pitchfork, but we will never surrender.

I am also a career officer, a colonel, although I have been in the reserves since 95. But there are no former officers. So - the article is not about the sad, not about the terrible, but about the urgent. Well, what good is it that in 41 they knocked us out with divisions. Now a lot is decided in the first weeks, days, hours of war. So the Army and Navy must be ready to repel an attack with lightning speed. And for this they must be combat-ready and combat-ready. It is rightly said: whoever comes to us with a sword will die by the sword! But this is the price of victory. Punch the aggressor in the face immediately and cool his ardor. Or through the loss of manpower and territory, learn to fight. We must soberly assess both ourselves and the enemy. There is no place for panic and fear. But there should be no underestimation of the enemy and no mischief on one’s part. Critically evaluate your successes, do not fall into hysterics if something did not work out in the exercises. Learn military affairs for real. What is needed in war. According to Suvorovski! Yes, the Russian Spirit is in our subconscious. But harnessing for a long time today is too great a luxury. Hurray-patriotism will not work. High morale, sufficient equipment, good training - a lot of things are needed for victory even in peacetime... And the article is about this...

Therefore, there is no need now to inflate a topic that can only become clear in difficult times for the Motherland. The time will come - we will find out.

Actually, this author is not talking about himself, this is just one small episode from Mironov’s book “I Was in This War” where the hero and his unit fell into a tank trap during an assault on the square. This is a real episode from the assault on Grozny by the Maykop brigade. This is the reality of war, everyone is afraid, but real people overcome their fear.
So it’s in vain that you’re so harsh on the author...

The article is correct. It raises topical questions. Under the USSR, people served in the Army mainly for the idea. There were no special privileges... Although the military’s salary was better than that of civilians, they also served where they had to. Constantly in a suitcase mood... In the 90s, they didn’t want to join the army at all. Among the personnel remained those who came to the army at the call of their hearts. Nowadays they become contract soldiers, it cannot be said that it is not at the call of their hearts, but there is a large proportion of those who, at the expense of the army, have decided to improve their situation. This is correct....Where can a young man, in our time, GET an apartment from the state? Etc., etc. True, everyone takes the oath, but does everyone treat it as it should be? I read it and forgot. There are probably some.

Well written. The only hope is that, if something happens, (a) our cause will be just and (b) we won’t merge right away. Then the people will have time to switch from “me, swag and family” to what Rus' has always been strong at: “not to spare one’s belly for one’s friends.” And for those who already live like this - honor and... respect.

Custom article. The author talks about some transcendental matters. There will be no war in the foreseeable future. A number of prerequisites for this have not yet been created. According to Zadornov, “Americans are stupid,” but at the same time, Americans are very pragmatic and know how to count money and costs. That could get them involved in a war. Right! Huge income! In order for the Americans to become the “hegemon” of the world,” they need to deprive Russia of its resources and minerals, and this can only be achieved through occupation or by buying up territories, which is impossible in principle. When planning military operations, they take into account possible losses. With a total loss of 5%, they refuse to carry it out. With all the unresolved issues in Russia (especially roads), the Russian army is not a whipping boy. This is not Iraq, Iran, Syria, Yugoslavia, etc. And our weapons are not from the 19th century. In short, American coffins will cause internal contradictions (revolt) of the population, protests of the dissatisfied, and a political war between Republicans and Democrats. Confusion and vacillation. America's hegemony lies only in the complete destruction of Russia, but by what forces? The attacking side must have a 3-fold superiority. Can you imagine the Russian “Normandy”! Me not! Of course, it is best for Americans to do everything “with the hands” of Europe. But Europe is exposing itself by entering the war (or by providing a corridor for passage). She still remembers the Russians. Burghers like Russian gas and their own beer with pig's feet. Why and for the sake of what ideals should flattery be raised? In order to wipe your feet on Russia, you need to bring it to the state of, well, somewhere around 1986-1990. Which is currently impossible!

In principle, the strategic nuclear triad is the first strike forces. Indeed, if you miss a beat for several tens of minutes, then its effectiveness is significantly reduced. This is a weapon designed to destroy a foreign country, that is, a weapon of the first - and last blow.
In principle, our presence of a nuclear triad guarantees the existence of our country. The balance of fear is such a strong thing. which allows us to leave our country intact, despite the fact that NATO militarily surpasses us every eight times.

In what ways are they superior? The Ukrainian army was hundreds of times superior to the militia, but the result? NATO is an alliance, but it is not our enemy even without nuclear weapons!!!!

And note comrades officers, I was bombarded here. And for what. But since a person who gives his life for his people should live starving, he probably should steal in order to provide for his family. Then there’s a plus, then he’s a patriot.
The officer is not an artist; he should not be hungry.
And as for the contractors, they, too, in cases of which life is for their homeland.
And if an officer cannot put a contract soldier at attention, "what kind of officer is he to Ben's mother?"

A sovereign's man, i.e. A service person should receive a decent remuneration. A civilian makes good in one place all his life. He works himself, his wife earns... And what about the military man? How many garrisons have I changed during my service... And everywhere we started almost from scratch. And sometimes they didn’t give me an apartment right away - in a hotel or in an apartment... And my wife has eight years of experience... Yes, she was practically alone throughout the entire service with two children. And there is only one store - it has food, household goods, and clothes... Now we remember everything with humor. And the heat in the apartment is as much as three degrees without a heater, and waiting for a vacation so that I can communicate with my parents from the Amur region home... How young we were... I don’t regret anything. Service came first. There were no excuses - they gave the order and went to carry it out... not out of fear, but out of conscience. A military man must know and feel that the Motherland needs him, he is respected, he is the Sovereign’s man...

I agree with the author 100%. A living example is the Americans and any other professional army. With more
They can cope with a weak opponent, but if they run into a strong opponent, they end up in the ass. There are a sea of examples
Iraq, Libya, Iran, etc. Anyone who serves for money will not want to die in battle - he has something to lose. Add to this the lack of targeted education of patriotism and the result is clear - it will happen
a large-scale conflict and ours will be the same as the Ukrainian army. If not worse. We have a strange situation in Russia to do everything to shit on our heroes or even myths, but glorifying the heroism of our soldiers
Who cares whether the feat of Panfilov’s men was or wasn’t! The main thing is that this story shows that there were heroes in Rus'. Things have reached the point where modern subverters of Alexander Nevsky, etc. have already been found.
Or on channel 365 there is a series of programs in which smart people, or those who consider themselves such, tell what kind of stupid Soviet leaders, generals, officers were. These figures have one name - ub-li-dki. It’s good for them to talk intelligently today, sitting at the table !

The author of the article raises a very important topic. Half of the officers I know are scumbags. If life and well-being are threatened, they will save their ass by all means. The good news is that many of those who did not serve in the army or navy at all will, if necessary, stand up to defend the Motherland, their relatives and friends. For Faith, Tsar and Fatherland! I read the article, read the comments... and the author writes everything correctly! I myself left my contract for 1.5 months and served in the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as an ordinary shooter. I’m 38, boys served with me for 20 years and more... So the mood in connection with Ukraine is not very strong... Nazi statements are strong, but the Radar Departments somehow don’t give a damn about this, they are busy with writing, replies and showing off... Adds nationalistic mood is that a lot of lower-level officers, so to speak, are from the Caucasus... and lately, the time has become and contract soldiers are transferred from there from the Caucasus, and everyone is climbing into command positions, with no understanding of whose support... which also does not add positive....
Sorry for the confusion but something like this.....

The article itself is the nonsense of some romantic. You can go through each paragraph and find some childhood fantasies there. Our country was never ready for any war. However, this did not stop us from winning.
Is it possible to say that before there were fewer cowards and financially concerned people? Hardly. Does the army need materially concerned soldiers who don’t give a damn about other aspects of their work? No. Are they needed in civilian professions? Suddenly, they are not needed there either, but nevertheless there are plenty of them. This is a given, nothing can be done about it.
Is it possible to judge the combat readiness of an army by whether the soldiers are ready to die? What kind of nonsense is this? smile Ideally, the entire army should consist exclusively of those ready to die. But how was the author of the article going to select according to this criterion? If a person consciously declares that he is ready to die, then in most cases his place is in a psychiatric hospital, and not in the army. A healthy person always has something to live for. For the sake of mom, for the sake of dad, for the sake of the woman I love, for the sake of the children, etc. If a man can say that he is ready to die, knowing that he is leaving his family to the mercy of fate, this is not normal. With all this, ANY serviceman and sensible members of his family understand perfectly well that he can die, like any person, only in wartime this risk increases many times over. With all these terrifying aspects of the instinct of self-preservation, it is worth noting that among those who are not ready to die, there are many people who will die, despite everything. Because there are no ready-made heroes. What will make people heroes is a situation in which they will die despite everything, but will do it. It is impossible to predict such things in advance.
Is it terrible that someone there will quit “if war breaks out”? No. This is again a given. Will many soldiers quit the American army when they find out that they will be sent to fight with Russia? I think a lot.
Is it possible to judge the combat readiness of our country by the quantity and quality of equipment available? Perhaps yes. But the answer will be unequivocal - no, we are not ready. And it is unlikely that we will be ready in the near foreseeable future. Because we will have to fight (if necessary) not with America alone, but with the entire NATO bloc. America is also not ready to attack Russia, because it does not have the required amount of equipment or the required amount of manpower specifically for an attack (as is known, for a successful attack the superiority must be 5-7 times). From all this it follows that comparing the chances of one country and an entire bloc is simply stupid and impractical. And here the main argument will be nuclear weapons. It is its quality and quantity that will decide everything. It decided not only the outcome of the war, but whether the war would even begin. And here, what’s interesting is that you don’t really care about the heroism of the personnel, because... launching a rocket does not require special courage from the performer. It requires courage from the one who will make the decision. And here we all come to the logically correct conclusion - the future of our country today largely depends not on the willingness of individual soldiers and officers to give their lives on the battlefield, but on the will and courage of our leader. And there are so many people, so many opinions, because this is politics.
Separately, it is worth paying attention to the part of the article where the author compares our armed forces and the Ukrainian armed forces, they say, they are the same Slavs, they have equipment, but almost everyone flees from the battlefield. Where is the guarantee that ours won’t run away too? Maybe because all these hidden soldiers were sent to kill their own people? Is the author trying to compare the level of motivation of people who engage in genocide of their brothers and sisters with those who defend their home? The author of the article is either not a military man at all, or simply has no brains and he himself has no place in the Armed Forces.

They inflict a huge number of Tomahawk strikes, air raids, and in a war with us, they will most likely use tactical non-nuclear missile weapons of enormous destructive power. Will our air defense be able to repel a massive raid?

Guys, I'm certainly no expert, correct me if I'm wrong. But in my opinion, it is necessary to make it clear in advance to both the p.i.n.d.o.s.a.m and the sub-p.i.n.d.o.s.n.n.i.k.a. m, that the response to any attempt by them to do this would be a massive nuclear strike. Yes, it’s clear that this is a good thing for the whole planet, and not just for us and them, well, don’t touch the Russians! Saddam did not have nuclear weapons and Iraq was ground into dust, and he himself was strung up. But the North Korean, as he is called, Eun, has it, and no one will touch him. Not only because it exists, but also because he will use it without hesitating for a second. To know that our Supreme has the same determination, and you don’t have to be afraid...

Many military analysts were right when they said that after the collapse of Yugoslavia, the Americans and NATO would deal with Russia. The creation of an unstable border zone around Russia, the depletion of human and economic resources, is the first task that Russia’s opponents are currently trying to implement. Destabilizing Ukraine is a small part of this plan. Ahead are Transnistria, the Caucasus republics (Nagorno-Karabakh), and then the Republics of Central Asia. The topic in the article is very important; it concerns the army not only of Russia, but also of the former Soviet republics, especially the ARMIES OF THE CENTRAL ASIAN REPUBLICS

Regarding the combat readiness of our army... My eldest son served conscript duty in the Northern Fleet in the Marine Corps near Murmansk. They guarded warehouses with nuclear warheads for submarines. There were conscripts only on the outer ring, and on the inner ring the servants were all officers and midshipmen. So, all midshipmen are entirely crests and Azerbaijanis! This is 2005-6. Everyone came to the service on “geldings” and “bekhs”, cheerful and cheerful. Confusion arose in me - well, okay, crests (and in the light of today's events, a worm of mistrust has arisen here too), but where do so many Azerbaijanis come from in such a responsible service?! It is doubtful that they are all Russian, indigenous. And I haven’t heard that Azerbaijanis have a zealous desire for military service - yes, they can’t take trade away from them. But service, and even with nuclear weapons! And now we can recruit foreigners for contract service. Maybe they still mean foreigners from the former USSR? This is no matter where it goes, and even then... Although... Close relatives once came to see me, and with them a Bulgarian boy of 19 years old, the son of their distant relatives (we had a lot of Bulgarians in the Belgorod region in the 70s worked). I came from Bulgaria, where I lived with my grandmother, my father died, I don’t know about my mother. So he was in awe of life here in Russia: everything here is better, more satisfying (he couldn’t eat all the sausages) and in general grace (although he still speaks Russian poorly), not like in Bulgaria!!! Doesn't drink or smoke. So he took out the military registration and enlistment office! All I want, he says, is to serve in the Russian Army!!! Forever!!! I was eager to go to the landing force, but, it seems, they recently accepted me, but not to the landing force. Such a foreigner will be of some use in our Army, but with those about whom I wrote above, doubt somehow creeps in. And in general, if we are to take foreigners into service, then in some separate units, such as the foreign legion, for at least 5 years and use them in hot spots (God forbid they appear) and as expeditionary forces on occasion. Maybe I don’t think so, but I’m so kaatsa (from A. Raikin).

Carry out an analysis in the DPR and LPR how many are fighting and how many have fled under various pretexts. Only on the territory of these republics did people fled to Russia without hesitation, then where will they flee our citizens, only a part will be able to find a job abroad, and the majority are eternal homeless people and renegades. So if you want to live, you will love your land, your Motherland. Over the hill, without money, no one needs you. That’s what refuseniks and other riffraff should understand .

There are a lot of disadvantages to the article. Did the Pyun.do.sys and their ilk get nervous - the Russians began to worry about the country’s combat readiness, and not about the water temperature in Bali. Well, minus players, tell me, how many of you know where the bomb shelter is in which you will hide in the event of an enemy air strike? Do you know what condition it is in?! 30-40 years ago there were even bunks there and everything was painted, clean and dry. Not to mention armored doors, emergency exits and FVU in working order. The other day I looked into one - an arctic fox. There, without an airstrike, you'll die in half a day - there's nowhere to piss. Srach, dampness, mold and rust. This is not to mention the complete lack of inventory. There's not a damn thing there at all. So the war in Ukraine did not teach our bureaucrats anything from the military registration and enlistment offices and administrations who receive bonuses for secrecy and mob work and did not force them to take their eyes off the game of solitaire.

      Go to the shooting range.
Recently, in a bank office, I saw a target on the wall behind a girl. I asked. She said that she and her boyfriend periodically visit the shooting range.
Go too. There are still DOSAAF shooting ranges. The money is not big, but you will learn yourself and help the business.
My father taught me to shoot from the age of 6. A visit to a shooting range with friends before a movie was mandatory. But that was half a century ago.
I sold all the firearms at the insistence of my wife. Now it's pneumatic. I shoot not for pampering, but so as not to lose my “shape”.
I taught my son to use weapons at the age of 10, including bladed weapons. He is now in his 30s and is very grateful for the skills he acquired. Recently a nephew came with his son and asked him to teach the boy to shoot, including archery. Let's study.

And sooner or later they will learn how to shoot down missiles, this is task number 1.

The problem is not “missile destruction”, the problem is that in one reactor at, say, the Novoronezh or Kursk nuclear power plant there are 70 tons of fuel itself. There won’t even be rats in Europe, well, if someone seriously decides to fight on our territory. War, in the form in which it was in the last century, is simply impossible. Such are the things.

And the rear is the people! And the main thing for the people, as has been noted here more than once, is ideology, that is, patriotism.
What kind of patriotism can there be among the people during the period of oligarchic capitalism? They thought - this is it - everything will be different in Novorossiya, but no... they are leaking everything on the sly, but it cannot be any other way - who would allow such a thorn in the side of the Russians who hold power? And the GDP so far is not mooing, not calving... the growth of the armament of the army itself is good, of course, but progress in the social side of the people themselves is something that is not visible.

The question is complex and, as one comrade used to say, “archival.” And while neither the school process nor the process of further education has been established in matters of patriotism, and nothing has been established in this regard, and the fifth column operates freely in the country, then the authorities have only one recipe for this case - fear, fear for failure to comply with an order. And no “I’ll quit”, in wartime it’s a tribunal and disbat or execution, and in other cases, in order to set the personnel on the right path and not give room for panic, it’s execution on the spot by colleagues or the commander. So there is no need to “reinvent the wheel” - there will be no lawyers there.

1 - after reading the article, I formed the opinion that the author did not serve. And if he was in the service, he was in the rank of no lower than colonel. They usually have a brain with the assignment of a third star on the shelf where the cap was before. The exception is colonels on operational work.
2 - at the expense of political deputies. A normal platoon commander practically never appears at home. And one of the reasons is precisely the large number of classes he conducts, including on the UCP. I am talking about this based on Personal experience. Therefore, there is no need to make historians here say that no one is raising fighters.
3 - contract soldiers have always been worse than conscripts. The reason is simple - a conscript is a more flexible material for education, and a contract soldier comes to the army with his own established ideas about life. Therefore, yes, the contract army is a mistake. But not as critical as the author is trying to say. If any commander at any level turns a blind eye to the antics of contract soldiers, it only means that he is a slug and not a commander. By dismissing a soldier from service, you deprive him of all privileges and achievements, so in the normal part no one would want to be fired.
4 - if some commander cannot achieve the task assigned to a soldier on a day off, such a commander is worthless. In this case, the saying “don’t blame the mirror if your face is crooked” works.
And lastly: the author himself, apparently, has not been to Chechnya. There is no need to touch on the topic of fear if you have not experienced it yourself. And the guys who were there are and will be honored and praised.

Even those who have not been in the army, for various reasons (except probably for the “slope”), are capable of self-sacrifice. + to this, our army, and in addition to this, has many good qualities inherent mainly in our army. But since the article mainly touches on self-sacrifice, I wrote my thoughts about it.

About a year and a half ago I read an interesting article, almost related to this topic. I don’t remember verbatim, but the gist of it was as follows. All that “office plankton” who is now enthusiastically discussing the 3rd World War on Tyrnet does not even think that if it really goes into a “hot” phase (i.e. if Russia starts a fight with NATO, or on the contrary), then everyone is mobilized instantly. At the same time, taking into account the mutual capabilities of modern weapons, and accepting that at the beginning (precisely at the beginning) of the war there will be no nuclear strikes, the personnel of the active army will be almost completely destroyed in the first 1-3 days (which is why, by the way, the phrase “When the war begins - I'll quit"). In this regard, the drafted “soldiers” will be armed from mob. reserves that were essentially created under Tsar Gorokh. According to rumors, three-line Mosin models and riding breeches from the 40s are still stored in these reserves. So we will have to fight the old fashioned way. But the vast majority of “managers” are not ready for this.
Therefore, we can say that our regular army may be ready, but at the outbreak of war (and in modern conditions no one is going to take “you”) the country’s military-capable population is not morally ready to fight with a rifle in their hands. And this is a consequence of the youth policy that was and, in principle, still being pursued in our country. Only a few are engaged in the patriotic education of young people, and even then they act on the basis of personal initiative (a big bow to them for this), relying only on personal enthusiasm and rarely on small support from “sponsors.” In essence, education must be carried out everywhere and almost from kindergarten, instilling love for one’s Motherland, teaching readiness to defend one’s Motherland “without sparing one’s belly”

“...There were no feelings except one. And there was fear. Huge fear. He displaced everything from the body, from the head, from the brain. There was no longer either the captain or citizen Mironov, but there was only a lump of shit shaking in horror, who wanted only one thing - to survive. That's all. Just survive. Here you don’t remember long-forgotten prayers, but simply rush into the darkness. You stumble and fly without feeling pain from bruises or abrasions. Nothing but soul-chilling, body-chilling fear..."
Only fools are not afraid, some just overcome their fear, and some don’t! And this is just a quote from a book, but I know Slava Mironov (Mironov, by the way, is his literary pseudonym) personally and he was not only in Chechnya, he was wounded, awarded the Order of Courage, so that’s it!

The author of the article undertook to write about something that he has NO CONCEPT about... And it’s these k.o.z.l.s who apparently make decisions like, abandon foot wraps, switch to a contract army, etc. sabotage against the army...

Regarding the article, I think men know better... But regarding the picture, the incredible similarity with I. Strelkov and the very situation in the former south-east of the outskirts, from God...

“If war starts, I’ll quit.” Not everything is so simple, if there is a serious war, then there will be laws of war. Such a “warrior” will simply be shot at the nearest fence by the verdict of the troika. The same will happen with deserters and draft dodgers. There will always be people who will implement these laws. At the beginning of the Second World War there were also many cases of cowardice, desertion, etc. We dealt with this, sometimes even with excesses...

“If war starts, I’ll quit.” It’s not that simple; if there’s a serious war, martial law will come into play. Such a “warrior” will be shot at the nearest fence by the verdict of the troika. The same will happen to deserters and draft dodgers. At the beginning of the Second World War, there were also many cases of cowardice, desertion, etc., although people were brought up differently. They coped with this (albeit with excesses), there will always be people who will implement these laws.
