China's development of a 6th generation fighter jet seriously worries the United States

Fighter J-20 (5th generation according to international classification)

The development of the 6th generation fighter jet by China is seriously alarming for the United States, especially after the recently published footage by the Chinese corporation aviation industry (AVIC) of a new concept of a combat aircraft without a tail.

To date, only 3 countries in the world are working on the development of 6th generation fighters - Russia, China and the United States. In this context, it is important to mention the statements of some senior US Air Force officials that the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) has every chance of becoming the first country in the world to adopt this type of military aircraft. At the same time, the 5th generation fighters are at the disposal of the above-mentioned countries.

Now Russia is actively involved in the construction fleet multifunctional Su-57 (according to NATO codification - Felon) along with light tactical aircraft Su-75 "Checkmate". China, in turn, produces the heavy twin-engine Chengdu J-20, in parallel with the design of the Shenyang J-31 multi-role fighter, while the States produce the single-engine F-35.

It is tailless aircraft (gliders) that are expected to form the basis for the production of new generation jet fighters. Although the prototype of the new Chinese aircraft is very similar to the J-20, it still has some differences. In addition to the fact that it is equipped with a diamond-shaped delta wing, it also lacks slats and tail. For this reason, it is likely that the development of a new military aircraft will be based on fighters of this model.

Moreover, it will have a number of other advantages, including the control of the UAV and the presence in it weapons directional energy.

5th generation according to the international classification

Open this classification and read laughing
P.s. it's all conditional and aimed at the layman. In fact, there is a fighter and its capabilities, to which generation its marketers rank all violet.

. In thought! I support! negative give the 7th generation! 6th is no longer relevant! As soon as we "finish" the Su 75, we will stick a nameplate - "generation 7,5" - and let them try to prove that this is not It!))) wassat

By the way, they promise to lift it into the air this year, I read ...
Well, how it will be in reality - FIG knows. Ivan Rogov was also promised initially by 2023 ... and at what stage he is now (I don’t even know, I haven’t watched for a long time).

The fundamental difference between the new generation fighter will be its unmanned capability, or rather AI control. Up to this point, all changes will be reduced to faster, more discreetly, better. The AI controlled unit will be a milestone and it is the air environment that is ideal for this - there is no problem of orientation / movement in difficult terrain. Even now, in dueling simulations of "honest" air combat 1v1 against AI, the latter outperforms the most experienced pilots. When all problems are solved and an industrial product is put into series, everything will look ... not even sad, but scary. Powers with a powerful industry / economy, capable of producing thousands of units of this technique will receive a total advantage.

If you pay attention, there is no letter F in the NGAD project. The future belongs to unmanned aerial systems. Where a manned fighter is primarily engaged in control, a la AWACS. UAVs will be of different classes from full-fledged air superiority fighters to cheap mass drones.

Yes, pilot training takes years, and AI can be copied like a flash drive. For many reasons, even inferior weapons with AI have a serious future. Now is the time when the forecasts of science fiction writers have become real) And someday the time will come for regrets about the spent resources, such as "Chubais and Nanotechnology".

Americans are alarmed not only by the Chinese aviation industry, but also by rocket science, shipbuilding and, in general, everything related to the defense industry. It is also alarming that it lags behind Russia and China in hypersonic weapons. Tea is preparing to fight, and even with nuclear powers. About the fifth or sixth generation, let the experts give an assessment, because. sometimes I don’t understand how the 4++ generation aircraft differs from the 5th generation.

China demonstrates the possibility of mass production of modern military equipment. Technology is getting closer and closer to the emergence of full-fledged AI-controlled combat systems without human intervention. China is the only power on the planet capable of maintaining parity with the US in the number of such items when the AI arms race kicks off.

Russia's leadership in hypersound does not give us anything now. But the United States (when they receive it in serial products) will receive a tool for delivering a preemptive disarming strike, which will pose a mortal danger to us.

The only criterion for differences between generations of combat aircraft is the guaranteed defeat of aircraft of a lower generation (subject to equal training of pilots, of course).
I can also say for sure that creating a new generation combat aircraft without a qualitatively new engine is a sham. And the Chinese have not yet brought the 4th generation engine to mind. hi

They should be alarmed by the fact that they are asking their Air Force ... And not the developments of China. If, instead of the F-35, they had produced the perfected F16 / 15, then for the amount that was blown into the visible invisibility with 800 design flaws, they could have built another air force to the existing ones.
By the way, they themselves realized this, resuming the production of the F-16/15, which was supposed to replace the F-35, and intensively extending the life of the A-10, which was also supposed to replace Fat Dristun.
6th generation - while the concept, they will fight on the 4th. And the 5th how it flew around the S-400 control zone in Syria - it will be like that))) It’s just that the Jews didn’t understand - they, apparently, all the smart ones left for the USA

A-10, who was also supposed to replace Fat Dristun.

No matter what anyone says, the Warthog is an outstanding attack aircraft. Yes Its survivability on the battlefield and the preservation of performance characteristics after being hit by anti-aircraft weapons are comparable to our legendary Grach, who returned to his airfield on one engine and with a telegraph pole in a damaged second engine.
No F-35 (Fat Dristun, as you figuratively put it) did not stand next to the latest A-10 modifications. It's just that the gun lobby needs a profit. After all, you won’t earn so much money on upgrading the A-10 to version “D”. The penguin, most likely, was supposed to, using his stealth and network-centric awareness, solve the problem with air defense, so that the rest of the participants in the "show" bombed at the targets identified on the battlefield and in the rear, as if on a training ground. However, the Penguin, as a means of combating our air defense, is unlikely to be able to solve the task assigned to it, which the Yankees already had the opportunity to verify from the experience of the SVO.
      IMHO.

F-35 and do not stand next to the A-10.
The F-35's capabilities do not require low level flying over the battlefield.
Moreover, the F-35 does not even need to enter the enemy’s air defense zone, in order to hit targets, it will get them anyway, and where the UAV does not get it, it will fly.
        Other times now, other possibilities.

The super duper prodigy F-117 was also heavily advertised as the most indestructible, all-out and winning aircraft. Until he faced a real opponent. In Yugoslavia, where he was immediately shot down. And then removed from service.

      What is the 6th generation?

      Fair question!!!
The thing is that (as far as I know) the whales still have not solved the problem with a reliable engine with a large motor resource and providing a supersonic cruising flight of an aircraft in afterburner mode ... Their WS-15 engine has not become a lifesaver for the PLA Air Force. The resource is too small, excessive fuel consumption in the afterburner, etc. And talking about a 6th generation aircraft without an appropriate engine is like carrying water in a sieve ... (unless, of course, you freeze it!)
Therefore, I very much doubt that without an appropriate engine, the whales will get a “sixth” generation.
And the concept that it will be a "flying control center for UAVs and other drones" is good in theory. But in practice there are also meetings with the enemy - nose to nose! That's when it becomes clear "Hu is HU!" Yes

No matter how good the Su-57 is and no matter how much it surpasses the F-35 (just as a thesis to save time on disputes), this does not matter in their quantitative ratio. About like Panther and T-34. Only with the Su-57, in terms of quantity, everything is much more deplorable.

And yes, the F-35 (in the Israeli version) is an absolutely full-fledged aircraft.
