It is reported about the first use of weapons by the Russian attack UAV "Altius" during flight tests

43

It became known about the new stage of testing the newest Russian heavy attack UAV "Altius". This is a domestic drone that receives elements of an artificial intelligence system and a satellite communication system from the developers. The takeoff weight of the UAV is about 6 tons.

"Military Review" in one of their materials reported on the difficult fate of "Altius" during its development.

According to RIA News, during the next test stage, the Russian drone "Altius" for the first time carried out the use of weapons. Reports say that it was the first to bombard ground targets at a military range from its side. Previously, "Altius" was tested without the use of onboard weapons.

The interlocutor of the said news agency noted that by the end of the summer the UAV "Altius" will conduct a series of flight tests using a standard weapons. For this percussion drone small-sized bombs and missiles were created that are capable of hitting targets of various types, including armored vehicles and enemy fortifications. At the same time, Altius can use various types of bombs, including adjustable and guided ones.

Such drones in the future will help reduce the risks for manned aviation Russian Aerospace Forces in the case of real combat operations.

If snakes were used from Orion, then all the weapons are already there ... Altius' main innovation is a satellite terminal and control without range restrictions ...

these are fugues .. for a truck, maybe an old armored personnel carrier or mrap will be enough, but for something modern, no longer, you need it with a cumulative fragmentation warhead

They say that VK800-V. The resource of the previously used German engines is not the same.
.Based on the experience gained during the development of "Altair", Russian engineers have created a new project "Altius-RU". The latter surpassed the "Reaper" in radar stealth, and its flight time, according to some sources, increased to 76 hours.

But that's not all. Our "Altius" has a total advantage in terms of on-board electronics. Unlike the MQ-9 Reaper, which is operated by two operators, the Russian UAV is controlled by one person and is able to independently make decisions, even firing.

Finally, the problem with the engines has been resolved. Now the heavy reconnaissance and strike drone "Altius-RU" will fly on the newest domestic power plants VK800-V, developed by the "Design Bureau im. Klimov ". It should be noted that our units, having the same take-off power of 800 hp, are superior to the "German" in terms of "dryness" of the design and manufacturability.

It is reported that by the end of next year, the Russian Aerospace Forces will receive 18 newest "Altius", and later the military will receive another 50 of these machines.

      https://aftershock.news/?q=node/987344&full

And about aviation weapons for "Altius-RU".
Aviation small-sized guided missile Kh-50, developed by KTRV JSC. Not to be confused with the Kh-50 operational-tactical cruise missile. According to the data presented, the missile is equipped with a high-explosive fragmentation warhead of increased penetrating ability and has various types of guidance (inertial + satellite + various seeker). It is designed to defeat small-sized mobile and stationary targets - enemy manpower and lightly armored vehicles.

Well, there is no certificate 100% - because there is no news, but they would definitely write about it. Initially, they wanted to fly the VK-800S on the l410 in 2020, well, there is no news about the start of flights either. Probably left at 22. Devoured weevil coronovirus.

Orion has been tested in combat conditions in the skies of Syria and has been supplied to the troops since September. This year there are seven sets of three cars each. Alytus is a higher class UAV. He, too, will soon finish the tests and go into the series.

The question is WHEN? and the second question - serial production - WHERE? And the third question - which ENGINE?
And so, you are right, soon, when it finishes the test. Most of the components are already being produced in the Russian Federation.

At the beginning of the year, there were reports that the first set will be purchased this year. Where this is not a question, in the same place where the Orions do. Expansion of production will follow soon. There have been reports that a new production will open soon. The engine may and will be someone else's on the first samples, but then it is obvious that it will be replaced.

Not so bad. Considering that until recently we could not even dream of such a thing.
Attack UAV "Altius" refers to medium-altitude drones of long duration of flight, heavy class. The vehicle has a takeoff weight of about 6 tons and can carry over a ton of payload. It is equipped with two turboprop engines, has a wingspan of 30 meters, a ceiling of up to 14 kilometers and a flight duration of up to two days. The combat radius of the UAV is about 3,5 thousand kilometers. Altius is equipped with a satellite communications system that allows it to be controlled at global ranges.

... It is also necessary, but such a technique "works" against an enemy who does not have real air defense!
And so, all on the eve of the appearance on the "scene" of swarms of attack UAVs and, probably, stealthy, nimble, seriously armed attack drones, which will pose a real threat to weak air defense.

That everyone stuck to the "Real Air Defense"? The Russian Federation and the USSR have been fighting in local conflicts since 1945, since the 70s it has waged colonial wars against underdeveloped states ... How many military lives would we have saved with such (and smaller) UAVs in service? And how to use UAVs against strong air defense (after the lyuli that this air defense gave them) showed the Jews in the next war with the Arabs. And showed the Americans in Vietnam.

But I thought something, but auto modeling was well developed in the 70-80s, and this is essentially the first step. The problem was in the transmission of the picture at a distance ...

The solution to this problem requires:
Item 1. Development of miniature components of the element base. This is impossible without the development of chemistry to obtain the required ultrapure components, elements, alloys, etc.
Clause 2. Algorithms and protocols for data transmission, encryption / decryption, development of automatic data analysis systems, ie. pattern recognition.
Item 3. Construction of ground communication systems.
Item 4. Construction of a huge fleet of space communication systems, comparable to the existing system (as of now) ...

          Those. aircraft modeling is insignificance.
UAVs were able to get a start and the available potential, only after the development of all of the above.

Without state-of-the-art chips, without modern algorithms and programmers, without the development of space communication systems, aircraft modeling would have remained modeling.

The problems are somewhat exaggerated. And they manifest themselves from the fact that the article needs to be created louder.

In Turkey, there are 3 large manufacturers of large UAVs (MALE and above) with production vehicles:

TAI - Anka, Anka-S, Akshungur and others. It works on a par with TV2, but since it is a state corporation (a direct analogue of the UAC), video from cameras almost never leaks, 95% of the materials are official, incomprehensible compilations and teachings. Initially, it focuses on its manufacturer to the maximum. And those that are imports are as stable as possible. Before certification of their PD170 (the main engine of Anki-S and Akshungur, as well as the new TV2 and probably versions of TV3), they bought an Austrian engine from Technefi Motors, which belongs to the Chinese corporation AVIC.

Vestel. Focuses on Arab clients. For example, he sells large quantities to the Saudis, and those to his vassals in Yemen. They use a commercially adequate side face with the possibility of customization for the client (2 or 3 versions of the 85-100 hp engine and several optical stations, for example, the Saudis have DS Optronics from South Africa - by the way, the Orion optical station is assembled from the Argos 2 sets, they even looked alike).
Well, and Selzhuk - they initially again assembled the TV2 configuration based on the highest economic efficiency. Which engine? The most massive in the world in this class. Which station? Easier and cheaper. Well, etc. When they began to tighten the nuts, it was quickly replaced by more expensive components. In the same optical station, they generally only won. Yes, it is heavier and eats more electricity. But the possibilities are already beyond the MALE requirements.
