Today in the North navy (SF), the tasks of organizing anti-submarine and sabotage defense of basing points were worked out as part of a special exercise on types of support for the Navy, which is conducted under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Vladimir Korolyov, reports press office Northern Fleet.
The drawing of practical episodes began in Severomorsk with the fulfillment of the task of counteracting conditional saboteurs trying to penetrate the waters of the main base of the Northern Fleet.
In order to prevent possible actions of underwater saboteurs in the waters of the main base of the Federation Council, a preventive grenade-throwing operation was carried out. This exercise was performed by combat crews of the multi-lined rocket launchers of the IWG-1 large anti-submarine ship “Admiral Levchenko” and the detachment on-duty combat team for fighting submarine sabotage forces and means (PDSS) on high-speed boats BL-680 with hand grenades RGD-5.
An episode of counteraction against a floating craft violating the navigation regime on the North Sea raid of the Kola Bay was also played out. The detachment's on-duty combat group for fighting against the SSAP on high-speed boats advanced to intercept the conditional intruder, simultaneously releasing divers. The intruder resisted; as a result, the assault and capture of the boat was made using weapons.
At the final stage of the exercise, underwater combat skills were improved both by single fighters and as part of combat groups. The personnel of the detachment to combat PDSS prevented the breakthrough of conditional underwater saboteurs to the ships. The methods of underwater combat with the use of special submarine pistols SPP-1, underwater gun APS, as well as cold weapons were worked out.
Similar drills of the underwater sabotage defense forces were conducted today and in other bases of the Northern Fleet.
A special training exercise on types of support for the Navy forces started on the Northern Fleet on Monday, August 7 and will last for several days. In the course of the exercise, according to a single plan, mine-sweeping forces, naval formations, aviation, search and rescue support forces.
