The Marines began to receive a specially modernized complex of reconnaissance, command and communications (KRUS) "Sagittarius", with which they can aim at targets not only
Aviation and artillery, but also long-range missiles: Caliber, X-35 and supersonic Onyxes, according
News.
“KRUS“ Strelets ”is a small tablet computer with peripherals placed on a fighter in a special unloading vest. On a mobile device, it is sufficient for a soldier to mark a target on the electronic map and its coordinates, as well as its parameters. Further, in real time, this information is transmitted to headquarters, pilots and gunners, ”the article says.
According to the main headquarters of the Navy, the complexes have already arrived at the reconnaissance units of artillery batteries and divisions of the 810th Separate Marine Corps of the Black Sea
fleet.
Commentary by military historian Dmitry Boltenkov:
The main question in the guidance of high-precision
weapons - is the accuracy of the coordinates of the target and their timely transfer to the aircraft carriers and launchers. As the experience of the operation of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria showed, the KRUS Strelets solves these tasks perfectly. It can be assumed that in order to issue targets to "Onyx" and "Caliber", in addition to the coordinates "Sagittarius", it must also remove some other parameters of the target. After that, the information in an automated mode will be transmitted to the headquarters, and from there to the launchers of cruise missiles.
The expert noted that “unlike land artillery, naval artillery fires from moving platforms — ships, therefore, to issue coordinates to ship-mounted artillery installations, several other parameters of targets are also required”. A "Sagittarius" should not interact with the usual land-based automated control systems, and with the sea.
Independent military expert Anton Lavrov:
"Marine" KRUS allows you to integrate all the organs of intelligence, communication and fire destruction in a single circuit to defeat the enemy in the shortest possible time and with the greatest accuracy. Now the marine brigade will be able to inflict a fire attack on the enemy to the full depth of its combat formation. Artillery will operate at the forefront, then aviation will operate, and the objects in the rear and suitable reinforcements will be hit with attacks of Onyx and Caliber cruise missiles. The issues with the most difficult task - artillery support of the Marine Corps at the moment when they disembark will also be solved.
