In the NVO zone, the appearance of a large number of MT-LBs with an installed ship-based anti-aircraft gun 2M-3M

A photo of an MT-LB with a 2M-3M shipborne anti-aircraft gun installed a few days ago has already been widely circulated on the Web. As it turned out, this is not a single craft of army craftsmen who decided to invent a new anti-aircraft gun, but quite a serial version. At least, the echelon with similar installations, moving towards the front, has already been filmed.

A couple of days ago, a photo of a "motorcycle league" with a 2M-3M ship mounted memory appeared on the Web. In the basic configuration, such towers are armed with two M-110 automatic guns of 25 mm caliber. But in this case, when installed on the MT-LB, the guns were replaced with two 14,5 mm KPVT machine guns, several sources report this, although it is possible that some of the installations come with "native" barrels. The tower is inhabited, the calculation is 2 people, but what is inside is unknown, there are no pictures.

As it turned out, this is not a single handicraft, but rather mass-produced vehicles, the supply of which to the NWO zone is quite active. On Russian Internet resources, footage of an echelon with similar installations appeared, as well as MT-LB with the same towers in a parking lot somewhere in the area of the NVO zone.

The choice of "motorbike" as the base machine is the most acceptable option because of its cross-country ability. In general, this is not the first time that MT-LB has been used as a base chassis for various installations, both artillery and other purposes. The choice of a naval gun mount as a turret is ambiguous. However, the military in the NVO zone say that the car is suitable, but the idea is sound.

The 2M-3M artillery mount was developed in the early 1950s as a means of self-defense for small ships. The rate of fire of two 25-mm M-110 assault rifles is 270-300 rounds per minute per barrel. The range of destruction of ground targets is up to 3 km, in height - 2,8 km.

    To me, this vividly reminds me of Germany’s attempts in 1945 to “brew up a miracle weapon from what was still lying around in the arsenals! What is this, anyway? Nanotechnology? Or weapons based on new physical principles? I understand that they steal, but to such an extent!

    I wonder if the appearance of such motorcycle leagues is a discredit to the Moscow Region? What if I say that this is discrediting?

    The Dunning-Kruger effect at its finest! Mitterrand believed that everyone who knows how to manage the state, unfortunately, already works as taxi drivers and hairdressers. I wonder who the “experts” are who know what we should fight with?
    Suddenly for such experts: the effect of a weapon is not only in its novelty, but also in its effectiveness per ruble of costs. Therefore, the assessment of any type of weapon should be and is based on the capabilities of the economy. I don't really like the proposed solution. But its high economic efficiency is beyond doubt. I see the development of tactics for using such weapons as an additional difficulty. It is unlikely that it is intended for offensive actions. But as a universal means of defense it can be very effective.

      If you think about it, the effectiveness of a weapon is in how much civilian or military people it can save, and not in how much it can save. One can simply imagine that at the end of the Second World War, Soviet tankers would begin to be transferred from ISs to BTs, because they are cheaper and sit idle. Otherwise, how much of all outdated technology has been left behind is not a lot, but can be effectively used.
      Well, yes, the leadership is experts, at least in terms of economics, you can’t argue with that.

        how much civilian or military people can it save?

        This doesn't bother anyone except those who had to fight

        Losses among civilians and military personnel have nothing to do with the tasks of the Northern Military District
        transfer from ISs to BTs, because they are cheaper and sit idle.

        BTs were actively used until 1945

        IS-2 units 3800 units were built, a heavy tank for special situations

        Together with the ISs, until the fall of 1945, for example, the SU-76 with an open conning tower was produced; 14 units were built. Cheaper and didn’t stand idle

          They were used mainly as training ones, in combat terms only when they were completely villas, and the interval from their entry into the army to the start of WWII was not 60 years. The rear was able to supply the Red Army with more up-to-date equipment; the SU 76, a machine developed in 1942, although it had its own problems, was produced en masse. Now, instead of mass production of current equipment, the “rubber galoshes for Africa” are being reactivated. You can simply develop the idea further, for example, if someone really had the No. 2 army in the world, then they would be afraid to touch this someone, as they were already afraid in their time, then such bloodshed could have been avoided, but, apparently, everything for the west
          it was obvious from the start. But in general, yes, who cares how many people there will die in the imperialist massacre, this is not the “bloody” Stalin and not the “senile” communists, who were able to turn even the Germans brought up on Nazi ideology into the builders of socialism in the GDR, even the monster Paulus, and he was re-educated as a communist. Nowadays it is much more popular to advocate mowing “dill” on such miracles of technology.

    A completely modern solution. This design combines the advantages of both components:
    - stealth due to the low side of the MTLB;
    - high maneuverability of a light armored personnel carrier;
    - a high ship tower with good visibility;
    - a heavy combat platform with good stability when firing.

    It looks like these are anti-aircraft guns against small drones.
    To avoid wasting missiles on cheap mass-produced drones, missiles will also be useful against F16s and other large birds.

    All the armies of the leading countries of the world were preparing for a modern war, and not for such a batch. The United States is now urgently reviewing its military textbooks, they were also extremely surprised that the current weapons and military strategies do not fit the hell out. Especially the consumption of high-precision munitions, it turned out that for a modern war their stocks should be more than an order of magnitude larger.

    Tell me, where did you read this? At least the source, I’m not talking about the link. I just haven’t seen information anywhere about changes in US doctrines in connection with what is happening in Ukraine. An increase in the military budget, it seems, is being discussed.

    The attacking army loses, on average, three times more than the defending army. Then our losses are simply space. So CNN is lying and very much. There is no way to hide one and a half million zinc.

    Where do you (mate) come from, and where is it written that the attacking side must suffer heavy losses. As examples, the Germans - the Kiev operation of 1941, the USSR, the Berlin operation of 1945, the USSR defeat of the Kwantung Army of 1945, this is just off the top of my head and there are dozens of such examples.. One not smart person blurted out 1 in 3 losses, and others picked it up. Losses could be as high as 1 in 20 if you thoughtlessly drive soldiers towards machine guns.

    The attackers have fewer losses when they are encircled, encircled, and en masse surrender of the enemy. An example of Operation Bagration. When there is a breakthrough in the defense, fighting in urban areas prepared for defense, the losses of the attackers above are indisputable. A striking example is the assault on Berlin, and this with absolute superiority in artillery and tanks.

    Even, about 40 years ago, it was in the Western Military District. They installed the Vulcan on the M 113 base. At least there the rate of fire was 3000 rounds per minute. Everything happened in this life.
    It just raises questions: how to control such a system? Where is the locator, where is the optical-electronic system? Or shoot into the light of day. hi

    The locator is based on new physical principles, hidden in the tower, the tower is apparently uninhabited.

    Why go to collective farms? What didn’t I like about Shilka? Is it really not on the storage bases?

    There was information a couple of years ago that they were getting rid of Shilok, maybe they sent him to Syria. As for air defense, they say it is of little use, but instead of the Shaitan Cart there is a Terminator

    motorcycle league, armed “ship-like” - from our poverty. a hastily stitched old transporter with the same old "Ostankino" turret - a guaranteed mass grave for the crew (thank God it's a small one). and everyone here on the forum knows that such a “collective farm” definitely leads to big losses. It is impossible for a homemade product to compete on an equal footing with SPECIALIZED equipment, originally tailored for a specific purpose. it’s the same as a “funny” Zhiguli car competing with a Ferrari on the track..

    Well, maybe this is intended as a rear opposite defense? On LBS, such a life is of course brutal, there is a serious question in general in the filling, what kind of drive does the tower have, what kind of control system is it?...

      Manual drive. There is generally a motor there that is supposed to drive the hydraulics, but it needs power. And not 24 volts. Manual drive. Everything is the old fashioned way

    provide air defense from a machine gun with a rate of fire of 300 rounds per minute?) Good luck with this attraction

    A quadruple installation will give the same effect as a normal anti-aircraft machine gun, even more, in WW2 it worked fine, why not now?

    That's why it was necessary to remove the Shilki from service.

    What's the point in them now? When they served, they were in the fourth line during a tank attack. The first two tanks, as the 80s instilled, then the infantry fighting vehicles and then they, their task was to cover the attackers from enemy helicopters. Now what should she do? There is no armor, the ammo consumption is crazy, reloading it doesn’t take minutes, hours.

    The two sides lost 250-300 soldiers each. Accordingly, the technology has also been lost. Both countries lost their armies which started the conflict in February 000. It’s normal that they go into battle with everything they can, old equipment, not old equipment, other equipment not. Now it is very clear what Lend Lease means for the USSR. Ammunition and bread for a destined army of millions in five years.

    Hmm... What problem are you planning to solve with this installation? Urban fight? Increased unit firepower? They wouldn’t just drag him across half the country to amuse online trollers and let them chat about stone axes, slings and compound bows. Just wondering why? Of course, once you know the “addressee,” it may be clearer. But thank God, now they have begun to restrain themselves at least a little with the coordinates of what is happening.

    It seems that the decision was made based on the results of the successful use of the Terminator BMPT, the twin cannon of which, like a hellish mower, extremely effectively mowed down the Nazi manpower of Ukraine.

    Right.
    It’s better, sitting in a trench, on the front end, to know that behind you, in the caponier, there is such a mutant ichthyander, than nothing at all.
    I hope the analysts from our Ministry of Defense have already developed tactics for using ichthyanders (MTLB+ 2X25mm marine BU).
    To be fair, they should have been caponized a kilometer from the front line, not closer.
    If the Ukronazi ATGMs try to knock it off, the tower gunners will have at least a couple of extra seconds to evacuate.
