Media: Navalny called the veteran of the Great Patriotic War a "doll" at the trial

426

Alexey Navalny was brought to court for the second time in a week. This time, the court session is connected with a lawsuit against the blogger for the fact that he once released a scandalous video, in which he used a fragment with the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Ignat Artyomenko, who supported the vote on amendments to the Constitution.

Of course, you can treat the changes to the Basic Law as you like, because this is everyone's personal business. But to stoop to outright insults against people, especially those who gave years of struggle against Nazism, is at least low.

Navalny's video featured phrases about "traitors", "people without a conscience" and "lackeys", and this despite the fact that Ignat Artyomenko himself began his military career in a partisan detachment at the age of 15.

It is the claim for the protection of the honor and dignity of the WWII veteran that is being considered in the Moscow court.

At the same time, the behavior of Mr. Navalny at the trial once again raises a number of questions. You can treat this person in different ways as a politician, but the phrases that he allows himself to address a person who is suitable for him as grandfathers evokes feelings, without exaggeration, disgust. During the hearings on this claim, Navalny called the veteran of the Great Patriotic War "a doll".

The media quoted Navalny as saying:

I don’t know any grandfather, I don’t know Artemenko, except that his relatives are selling him like a doll.

As you can see, instead of at least some attempt to agree to reconciliation and admit the fact of insulting an elderly person, Mr. Navalny sinks even lower - to new insults.

During the trial, Navalny, addressing the court, said that he "will burn in hell, since he took his grandfather, fastening medals on him and using him in the process."

Navalny said he despised the court for this. But Mr. Navalny, apparently, is not going to despise himself for obscene words addressed to the veteran and complete disregard for his merits and personal opinion.

Navalny is an exemplary woodpecker, fulfilling 146% of the role given to him: to gather the dissatisfied and expose all this “revolutionary extras” in obscene terms, generously staining himself and his “followers” with dirt;)

It is the claim for the protection of the honor and dignity of the WWII veteran that is being considered in the Moscow court.

You don’t have to read any further, the author has no idea what he’s writing about. Such a claim against Navalny is not being considered and has not been filed. Protection of honor and dignity is a civil right.

Navalny is a defendant charged with Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 128.1 “Slander”. This is criminal law.

As you can see, instead of at least some attempt to agree to reconciliation and admit the fact of insulting an elderly person, Mr. Navalny sinks even lower - to new insults.

Of course he doesn't try! Termination of a criminal case by reconciliation of the parties is not a rehabilitative basis. In this case, Navalny will be considered criminally responsible, and not acquitted or innocent. “Admit a fact” is the same as “confess to committing a crime under the charged article.” Navalny insists on his innocence.

On my own behalf, I will say that from a human perspective I condemn Navalny’s act, but legally 128.1 “Slander” is a very complex article, it is very difficult to apply it legally. Therefore, in such cases, people have to sue within the framework of civil law under the Civil Code of the Russian Federation 152 “Protection of honor, dignity and business reputation.” So I won’t be surprised at all if the ECHR overturns the decision of the Russian court, pointing out that the provisions of Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation were not present in Navalny’s actions.

What is Navalny wrong about? You want to say that the old grandfather read ALL the amendments being made to the Constitution, read those articles to which changes are made. I sat, thought, and agreed. And then he starred in a video calling for people to vote for the amendments. Have you held in your hands this book that Putin wiped himself with? You mean, before you wiped yourself?

In what he called, in what he called everyone participating in the video, I quote

It must be admitted that while the team is corrupt
lackeys looks rather weak. Look at them: they are a disgrace to the country. People
        without conscience. Traitors.

Including this honored grandfather, 95 years old. This is exactly what I condemn. But at the same time, I believe that if Navalny should be held responsible for this, then strictly according to the law, and this means in accordance with the Civil Code of the Russian Federation 152. Maybe I don’t understand something, but by law I cannot apply the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation 128.1 here.

As for your questions, there is nothing to object to. Moreover, initially there is nothing to object to. I know perfectly well how and why such grandfathers are put in such videos. I have read the Constitution, I know the real value of most of the amendments, etc.

90% of comments are kindergarten. At least they looked at Ignat Artemenko’s military book first. Those who served will understand what I want to say.....

This is a deliberate attack on the fact that the people deeply unite with the authorities in the person of Putin, who is from besieged Leninigrad. This is a signal from some of the youth who no longer feel anything in common with the last war, brought up by the IGE, that they can spit on historical memory and nothing will happen for it.

Brother, learn history - Putin was born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad, in the maternity hospital. V.F. Snegirev on Mayakovsky Street. By that time the blockade had already been lifted ;-)

It seems that none of the commentators, and neither the author, heard what exactly Navalny said. And if they had heard, they would have understood that Navalny did not mean his 95-year-old grandfather, but those who, in his opinion, were manipulating him.

It doesn't matter, he had no right to talk about a veteran like that

Now let him sit and think. I hope he never gets released
