Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he had signed decrees on the structure and composition of the government and intends to hold a meeting with the new cabinet of ministers today, ITAR-TASS reported.

“Decrees have been signed,” the head of state said at a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

Medvedev said that the new government will consist of three-quarters of the new people.

“How many new faces?” Putin asked, “I wondered, three-quarters were new people who appeared only recently or entered the government for the first time,” Medvedev replied.

Putin recalled that Medvedev "presented his candidates for ministerial posts and his vision of the structure of the government." The head of state noted that he had consulted with each candidate. "That's right, if we collect the new composition of the cabinet of ministers," he suggested.

Medvedev thanked the President "for considering the proposals and attentive attitude to the candidates." In his opinion, today's meeting with the president "is very important for the future of the government."

Igor Shuvalov will remain Russia's first deputy prime minister; Vladislav Surkov, Dmitry Rogozin, Arkady Dvorkovich, Olga Golodets, Dmitry Kozak, and Presidential Plenipotentiary in the North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin will become deputy prime ministers of the government.
