Victory Day and the "Immortal Regiment" in Bulgaria
The holiday in the Bulgarian capital Sofia began exactly at 10 in the morning. The participants of the Immortal Regiment laid flowers and wreaths at the monument to the Unknown Soldier and went to the monument of the Soviet Army. The column included the former president and current chairman of the Bulgarian ABV party (“Alternative for the Bulgarian Revival”) Georgi Parvanov, deputy and chairman of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Cornelia Ninova, deputy and chairman of the Attack party Volen Siderov, public figures and thousands Bulgarians
At the head of the column were participants in the St. Panteleimon Sofia Cossack village in uniform.
Russophobes and liberals in Europe are very hard going through the look of any Russian uniform, even when it is shown on TV. And here in the capital of the state, a member of the European Union and NATO, the Cossacks solemnly passed in uniform. On their standard - a two-headed eagle with three crowns, only on the shield instead of the Russian rider who kills the serpent, the golden Bulgarian lion roared.
The participants of the Great Patriotic War Yuri Mironov, Nikolai Melnikov, Anatoly Shkolin came from Russia to Sofia to meet with their comrades in arms. They were cordially welcomed by the chairman of the Bulgarian Veterans Council, Igor Zavyalov, and his Bulgarian colleagues in the fight against fascism. Brothers by arms visited the Russian Cultural Information Center (RKIC) in Sofia. There they got acquainted with the exhibition dedicated to the liberation of Bulgaria from the German invaders, talked warmly, recalled the war days, talked about stories and outlined plans for the coming holidays.
This year, even the police in Bulgaria attached St. George ribbons to their official service uniforms. They did so according to a deep personal conviction, and not according to a mandatory order from above. In order to fully appreciate the patriotism of Bulgarian policemen, one must know that this year’s St. George ribbons are banned not only in Ukraine, but even in Kazakhstan and Belarus. The Bobruisk city executive committee specifically “recommended” to the organizers of the rally on Victory Day “Thank you grandfather for the victory” not to use St. George ribbons and Russian symbols.
In 2016, only in two states around the world, police officers wore St. George ribbons on their uniforms. The first state is Russia, the second is Bulgaria. Seeing the police with St. George ribbons, all liberals and Russophobes in the country howled a desperate wolf howl. And it was from what howl! You do not need to be a rocket scientist in order to understand who these people will defend if the government orders them to go against the Slavic and Orthodox peoples.
After the participants of the Immortal Regiment laid flowers and wreaths at the monument to the Soviet Army, a concert and dancing in the open air began near the 11 hours. The weather was wonderful - sunny and warm, but not hot. After the end of the official part, not only the actors on the stage sang and danced, but also many of the citizens who came.
In 10, a live broadcast of the parade on Red Square in Moscow began in the RCFM cinema hall. The hall was full, the audience - almost exclusively from men. Record of the parade was shown on the big screen on the building several times, without interruption, and all day. And until the end of the day there were always a half or two dozen people in front of the screen.
In 13.30, a festive concert-performance began in the Great Hall of the RCFRC. The veterans, compatriots, schoolchildren and students of Sofia and grateful Bulgarian citizens celebrated the 71 anniversary of the end of the Great Patriotic War together. Actors of the Russian Chamber Theater, students and teachers of the Russian Lyceum and the School of Aesthetic Development truthfully and sincerely told about the Victory, about what price it was given, and helped all the audience in the hall to feel all the pain and heroism of the victorious people.
At the end of the day, from 17 to 20 hours, another procession was held in Sofia, dedicated to the 71 anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The participants gathered in front of the Bulgarian National Assembly and expressed to the deputies everything they thought about the country's participation in NATO and participation in information aggression and military demarches against Russia. Then they passed through the city with Bulgarian and Russian banners, St. George ribbons and, of course, with red banners and a copy of the Banner of Victory. The procession ended again in front of the monument to the Soviet Army, where participants laid flowers and wreaths.

Ruse, Samokov, Silistra, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Targovishte, Shumen, Haskovo, Yambol. St. George ribbons, Russian and red banners fluttered throughout the country.
