Shooting of the 520 coastal missile and artillery brigade

In September, during a large press tour to Kamchatka, I had the opportunity to see for the first time the firing of coastal anti-ship missile systems.
Shooting was scheduled for night time, so we arrived at the shooting grounds in the late afternoon. According to the legend of the exercises, the enemy ships are going to land a naval landing in the Englishwoman Bay, and the 520 Brigade is launching a missile attack on them.
Official historical reference part:
The history of our formation begins with 21 OBRP, the formation of which began in September 1959 in accordance with the Directive of the Commander of the Kamchatka Military Flotilla dated September 5, 1959.
To receive weapons and equipment, as well as to study the elements of the PO Sopka complex, which originally entered service with the regiment, a special team was formed, consisting of 14 officers and 75 sergeants and sailors. The formation of the team was carried out in the village of Kozmino from among the personnel of parts of the coastal artillery of the Pacific Fleet. The commander of the 294 command for the separate artillery brigade of the Kamchatka Flotilla, Colonel Nikulin A.N., was appointed head of the team. The team was completed in February 1960 of the year, and 10 of March 1960 of the team departed to receive weapons and equipment to the Navy's central arsenal (Art. Burmakino) of the Yaroslavl Region .
From 20.03.60 of the year to 14.04.60 of the year, the personnel of the team received the armament and equipment of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in parallel under the guidance of the specialists of the arsenal, a study of the structure and operation of the complex was conducted.
21.04.60, the two echelons of equipment and weapons was sent to Vladivostok, and 26 in May by transport "Mikhail Kutuzov" and light cruiser "Dmitry Pozharsky" she was delivered to the port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Unloading of weapons and equipment was carried out in Zavoyko and 3.06.60 was completed. Due to the lack of roads to the place of permanent deployment, the regiment’s weapons and equipment were temporarily placed on the coastal artillery battery on the 559 and were delivered to the site only on July 16 of the year 1960.
From 16.06 to 1.06.60, the regimental personnel equip the position area and prepare to complete the course task.
By order of the USSR Ministry of Defense from 20.06.60, the first regiment commander, lieutenant colonel Valentin Nikolayevich was appointed.
From 1.06.60, the regiment began to work on the 1-th course task of weapons and equipment deployed in training positions.
As a result of painstaking hard work, the personnel of the regiment were able to master a new, complex rocketry and 1 in November 1960, the regiment completed its first rocket firing, and achieved a direct hit on the target.
1 December 1960 of the year 21 OBRP is fully formed and incorporated into the first-line battle core. By order of the Commander of the Pacific Fleet from 15.03. 1961 of the year 1 December is set by the annual holiday part.
With 1961, the systematic combat training of the regimental personnel begins, which was originally fraught with great difficulty. So there were no shelters for elements of the missile complex, a room for the regimental headquarters, and guard rooms. Not fully developed combat and operational documents, and some of them were completely absent. The living conditions of the officers, senior officers of the long service and their families were exceptionally difficult.
The regiment had only 6 four apartment buildings and one 8-room apartment in which 35% of families could be accommodated, part of the families had to live in dugouts. Therefore, along with working out the tasks of combat training in the regiment, intensive construction began. Only during 1961, the launch sites were equipped, all the combat posts of the missile complex were placed in wooden-earth shelters, the construction of shelters on the technical position began, a house was handed over to the residents, guard rooms were built.
The selfless labor of officers, sergeants and sailors of the regiment in the first years of its formation allowed to increase the combat readiness of the regiment, to create conditions for improving the quality of combat training. This is evidenced by the results of the inspection of the regiment of the GK Navy Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov SG in March 1961 of the year, the Commander of the Pacific Fleet Admiral Fokin in April 1961 of the year, the Chief of the General Staff of the Navy, Admiral Zozulya in July 1962 of the year, who praised the regiment.
23 July 1963, the regiment carried out a sudden inspection rocket firing. GC SHF admiral of the fleet Gorshkov SG attended the shooting. and the commander of the Pacific Fleet Vice-Admiral Amelko. Shooting achieved a direct hit. For the successful execution of the inspection rocket shooting GC Navy announced gratitude to all personnel of the regiment.
From September 27 to October 12 1965, the regiment was inspected by the Chief Inspectorate of the USSR Defense Minister under the direction of Marshal Sovetsky Soyuz Moskalenko. When inspecting performed rocket shooting with the launch of 2-x missiles. During the inspection, the regiment was rated "excellent" and took the first place among the Navy BRC, and was awarded the challenge prize of the Civil Code of the ShF.
15 October 1965, in accordance with the directive of the General Staff of the Navy 294 separate coastal artillery brigade was disbanded and 21 BRP was renamed 21 UBW with his subordinate 524 bshadn and 41 BAB, since that time the regiment became be composed of not only the missile unit but also artillery.
In 1971, the regiment is rearming with a new Redut missile system. Between 16 June and 21 July 1971, the regiment received the first launchers, elements of ground equipment and missiles of the new complex, and already on September 29, the regiment completed rocket firing with this complex. The development by personnel of the new complex in such a short time testified to the high professionalism of the rocket men, his responsibility and the desire to increase the combat readiness of the regiment. The shooting was attended by the Chief of Staff of the Navy Admiral Sergeyev and the Deputy Fleet. Civil Code of the Navy on BP, Admiral Egorov. Shooting completed successfully.
In 1972, the regiment is fully re-equipped with a new missile system and, as a result of competitions among the BRC for the Navy championship, takes the 1 place. By the decree of the Central Committee of the CPSU, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and the Council of Ministers of the USSR, the regiment was awarded the Jubilee Badge of Honor for its high performance in combat training in commemoration of the 50 anniversary of the USSR.
In the seventies and eighties, the personnel of the regiment continued to master the rocket complex weapons Redut, to increase combat readiness, the regiment's infrastructure is being developed, shelters are being built for vehicles in the fleet of combat vehicles, and storages for missiles and components on the OTP. These years are associated with new successes in combat training, strengthening combat readiness. The regiment won the first place among the BRC in the championship of the Navy in 1970, 1972, 1975, 1981, 1986, the second place in 1971, 1973, 1974, 1977, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1985.
In 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, the regiment is declared "excellent."
From 16 July to 2 August 1985, the regiment is on duty to curb violations of the state border of the US Navy "Texas", the score for combat duty is "excellent."
From 17.05.87 to 11.06.87, the regiment once again took up combat duty to curb violations of the state border of the US Navy Arkansas CRA URO, the rating for combat duty was “excellent.”
From 1984 to 1990, one more difficult and crucial task was assigned to the regiment. The command of the KVF was the preparation of missile ammunition kits for the Sevastopol and Admiral Fokin 173 BRRK missiles. The staff of the technical division with honor coped with this task, the reception and issuance of missiles were made in a timely manner with the rating of "excellent."
In March 1992 of the year, in accordance with the Directive of the General Staff of the Navy 21, OBRP was reorganized into 520 processing. From this time begins a new stage in the history of our part.
In the 90's, a part has been severely tested. In the context of the ongoing reform of the Armed Forces, an acute shortage of material and technical support, the lack of funding, a permanent undersupply of personnel, our unit was able to withstand, to maintain combat readiness, to solve the tasks assigned to it qualitatively.
Rocket shooting at 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 1997, 773, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX In XNUMX, XNUMX was recognized as the best in the Navy among the BRC by results of competitions.

Successful performance of the most difficult tasks of combat training is the main tradition of the connection. According to the results of rocket firing in 2010, 520 robbery won the challenge title GC Navy for the first time in 28.

So, look at the terrain. I don’t reveal any secrets, the same thing has long been indicated on Wikimapia

The shooting itself was carried out in complete darkness. One of the TV channels tried to remove the launch from the camera (auto-shooting, without an operator) installed near the complex, but at the most crucial moment it did not work. I had to be content with shots from afar.

After the shooting, everyone forgot that there would still be a launch from the “Boundary”, so when the missile went, no one had time to take it off :)

This is how two Redut missiles hit the target. Let me remind you that the shooting practice is carried out by rockets with an inert warhead, so they do not explode, but simply pierce the target.

such complexes (only more modern) not only in the Kuril Islands! Sakhalin, Vladivostok! We have the Far East the most airborne hazard direction. If the North-West and Chukotka are completely protected (one direction is due to the presence of a rather powerful Northern Fleet and coastal forces, the second because of the geographic location) the whole East is open And neighbors are such that they don’t put a finger in their mouth!

Well done !!! After the summer shame at the Pacific Fleet exercises, they simply needed to show excellent results. Which they did. Having a neighbor with great ambitions, such exercises should be carried out more often. Yes, and it would be nice to upgrade to them.

What is the point of writing nonsense? And why, if these exercises were successful, then the information is only on the Internet, and the rest of the media are silent?

What a shame ?! It was not there! That "zheltyachek" was dismantled at once! It was a purely provocative article!
Just this material, it seems, is about those teachings. It’s a pity that she just left! And the complexes really need to be changed. Pleased with a zealous attitude to technology, it is still fighting, and it affects the genius of its designers! The equipment has been in service for many decades and is still relevant.

From the analysis of photographic materials, it follows that the shooting was carried out exclusively for demonstration purposes in ideal weather conditions, without imitating enemy opposition and the actions of combat support forces. ("Picnic")
    2. Destruction of targets, even with blanks, is suspiciously insignificant. During my service I have seen dozens of hits by P-5, P-6, P-15, Termit missiles on targets, they were many times greater. The second goal - a fire-fighting boat with a displacement of no more than 150 tons has damage to superstructures that have nothing to do with the missile hit (apparently, in bad weather, it crushed a nearby vessel).
    3. The command post is generally located in violation of all applicable charters and instructions and is an ideal target for reconnaissance and strike by the enemy.

Guys, this article is just fake. Photos of the damaged floating barracks were already in another article. This article has been analyzed for a long time. It was called something like "Let's Take Out the Yollyachek" if I'm not mistaken, there were pictures of these fabulous injuries. With such damage as in the photo, the ship would probably retain its buoyancy. And the advancement of complexes without security is complete. And the command post on the cape is probably so that the enemy will notice and destroy it faster))))
