RCBZ troops received a new flamethrower "Shmel-M"
The Ground Forces Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Divisions of the Russian Federation received the Shmel-M flamethrower using thermobaric projectiles. At the moment, large-scale exercises are under way near Volgograd, where the fighters are mastering the new weapon. The flamethrower, capable of conducting aimed fire at a distance of 800 meters, is designed to destroy soldiers, lightly armored vehicles and defensive fortifications of the enemy.
Thermobaric shells used in the "Bumblebee-M", are most effective when hit in an enclosed space, for example, in the bunker or other reinforcement. In this case, a sharp pressure drop occurs and all living things within a radius of destruction die. He shared this information with the correspondents of RIA "News»Nikita Kazakov, flamethrower platoon commander.
Together with the increased range of fire, the new flamethrower received more power and a zone of destruction. Compared with the previous model, the damage radius increased by almost one and a half times. Now, even in the event of a miss, there is a chance to hurt the enemy.
The power of the charge "Bumblebee-M" according to military experts is not inferior to high-explosive fragmentation projectile caliber in 152 mm, used in artillery. This makes the flamethrower the perfect weapon for melee, allowing you to destroy with its help any targets other than heavy armored vehicles. At the moment, three weapon modifications have been adopted: using thermobaric projectiles - marking “A”, incendiary - “Z” and smoke - “D”.
At the disposal of the military there is a training simulator "Yanychar", which recruits for four months. Only after that they get the opportunity to use the combat sample of the flamethrower.
According to the commander of the flamethrower platoon Yuri Savkin, this simulator allows you to work out the necessary skills for the fighter on targets that cannot be created on real test sites. Soldiers get the opportunity to learn how to shoot in different weather conditions, day and night, using targets with different speeds, such as, for example, infantry fighting vehicles or enemy enemy manpower. At the end of the training, the soldiers pass the test, and only those who showed excellent results are allowed to do real shooting at the range, the rest are sent to re-training.
