Syrian News Agency SANA, referring to sources in government forces in Syria, reports on the new success of the army and the militia of the SAR. Under the control of troops took the city of Ar-Rabia and the village of Ar-Rauda, located in the province of Latakia. It is reported that over the past two days, the Syrian troops, with the support of the militia, managed to knock out militants from 16 settlements in the north of Lattakia and take control over more than 120 square kilometers territories in the Syrian-Turkish border area.
A spokesman for the SAR army command says that the liberation of Ar-Rabia can be considered a strategic success for the Syrian troops, since it was in this locality that the largest transport hub was located, which was used by militants of terrorist groups for their own purposes. Taking control of Ar-Rabia allows the Syrian army to block all major supply routes for terrorists in northwestern Syria, where illegal traffic across the border with Turkey was the most intense.
The command of the Syrian troops circulated an appeal to illegal armed groups with the requirement of the immediate addition of weapons. The appeal says that members of the illegal armed groups may surrender to representatives of the competent authorities, laying down their arms and settling their legal status within the framework of Syrian legislation.
Information Agency RIA News reports that the offensive in the north of Syria, representatives of the militia forces carried out, wearing T-shirts depicting the deceased Russian pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov.
