In addition to the supply of new equipment, the enterprises of the Russian defense industry are engaged in the repair and modernization of the helicopter fleet already operated by the Air Force. Since the beginning of the year, approximately 70 upgraded helicopters have been transferred from repair sites.
Delivery of both new and modernized equipment of army aviation of the Russian Air Force is carried out in the framework of the state defense order-2011. Its volume in the line of the Ministry of Defense is approximately 580 billion rubles. Dmitry Petrov, general director of Russian Helicopters, announced in mid-August 2011 that within the framework of the state defense order-2011, the Ministry of Defense concluded 3 short-term and 7 long-term contracts with the holding. Petrov also noted that during the year, the military will receive 450 units of new and upgraded helicopter equipment.
In general, according to the current plans of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the annual purchase and supply of more than one hundred helicopter units is envisaged. Large-scale equipment of the military with new helicopters is provided for by the state armaments program for 2011-2020. with the amount of funding determined at the level of 23 trillion rubles. The document assumes the purchase and delivery of helicopters to the troops of 1150.
