Missile firing with the participation of the newest corvettes of the Russian Navy took place in the Baltic Sea

Head of the Information Support Department of the Baltic Military District Press Service the fleet Vladimir Matveev said that the first simultaneous rocket firing at surface targets with the participation of the latest Baltic Fleet corvettes, which were carried out as part of the joint exercises “Shield of the Union 2015”, took place at the Baltic Sea test site.

“In the sea range of the Baltic Fleet, located in the Baltic Sea, the crews of the Corvee, Boiky and the Resistant corvettes successfully completed joint missile firing at a complex target simulating a squad of conventional enemy warships. Missile firing was first performed by three ships simultaneously using the main shock weapons Corvettes - Uran anti-ship missile system, - RIA "News".

The exercises “Shield of the Union-2015” are held from September 10 to 16 at the training grounds of the Western Military District. They involved more than 8 thousand troops and about 400 units of military equipment, including 100 tanks and 80 aircraft.
