US worried about Israel’s readiness to attack Iran
The US leadership is seriously concerned about Israel’s readiness to strike at Iranian nuclear facilities. This was stated by a high-ranking source in the US State Department.
According to him, the “Cursor” writes, the Americans suspect that Israel will conduct a military action not agreed with them after the publication of the next IAEA report on Iran. The document, which should be released in November, states that Tehran has made significant progress in developing nuclear weapons.
To prevent war, the States are actively trying to convince the UN Security Council to introduce new, much tougher sanctions against Tehran. The White House believes that increased international pressure on Iran will force Israel to abandon its intention to solve the problem by military means.
Recall that on the eve of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu once again reminded fellow citizens of the Iranian threat. According to him, Tehran, armed with a nuclear bomb, poses a great danger to the world as a whole and to Israel in particular.
Earlier, both American and Israeli leaders recognized that a strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities would be essentially useless, since it would not be able to destroy them all at once. In addition, the United States fears that such an action would lead to the beginning of a large-scale war throughout the Middle East.
Iran began developing nuclear technology in the middle of the 1980s. Western countries accuse Iran of developing a nuclear weapon under the cover of a peaceful atomic program. Tehran rejects all allegations and states that a nuclear program is needed to meet the country's electricity demands. International mediators on the Iranian nuclear issue, together with the IAEA, are trying to get Iran to suspend uranium enrichment activities.
