First NATO missile defense system tested in Romania

30
In May, the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) launched the three-month commissioning test of the first NATO missile defense system (PRO) built in Eastern Europe - Aegis Ashore’s Naval Support Facility (NSF), which is located on the former Romanian air force base Deveselu in the southern region of the country, reports blog Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies.

First NATO missile defense system tested in Romania

The American ship integrated system was used as the basis for the NSF Aegis Ashore object. weapons AEGIS: in fact, it is a land-based structural similarity to a Ticonderoga URO-class cruiser add-on, equipped with an AEGIS system capable of launching SM-3 antimissiles using universal vertical Launch Modular Enclosure launchers.

The construction of the facility in Deveselu was completed in early May of this year. It is planned that after the completion of commissioning tests - in August-September 2015 of the year - it will be handed over under the control of the US Navy, and by the end of the year the facility will begin combat duty with the SM-3 Block IB. Thus, NSF Aegis Ashore will be the first element of the NATO ground-based missile defense system in Eastern Europe.

As part of the calculation of this object - three shifts for 11 people, providing round-the-clock duty. At the moment, only one shift is working at the stage of commissioning tests.

In the future, a similar object will be built on the territory of Poland in Redzikovo (the Baltic coast of 5 km from Slupsk). He will take up combat duty in 2018 year.

Are there 11 graves in the project? If not, then a big flaw! A raw project means.

Nothing, on occasion, Russia will give them a real test. And graves will not be needed.

I can’t understand what the hell they put a rocket in an iron box in the middle of the field, so that it would be easier for them to have a kaput, although the dimensions allow you to "dig in", to disguise them by running. Or is it so to say, "here we are," No, there is something wrong here, or the Americans really hold this "Eastern gayropean tuber" for meat? Yes, the campaign is the way it is. Now I understand perfectly why ours in the Arctic have become more active. From there to the lair of these creatures will be closer. Well, and these geychmyrs, in which case, the first to the tonsils.

I can’t understand, why the hell did they put rockets in the iron box in the middle of the field?

Perhaps this is due to the fact that the "Young Europeans" still do not want to grow nuclear mushrooms on their territory. Although a couple - three air nuclear explosions, for blinding air defense, will not hurt.

          Just in case:
"Military Parity." Raytheon received a $ 126 million contract as part of its SM-3 interceptor missile program designed to destroy short- and medium-range ballistic missiles by direct hit of a kinetic warhead, sometimes referred to as a “bullet to bullet,” reports ASDNews on June 27. .

The contract is intended for the purchase of materials for the production of up to 29 missile defense 29 SM-3 Block IB. The work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Tucson (Arizona), the estimated date for completion of the contract is September 30, 2016.

The SM-3 is not equipped with a high-explosive warhead; instead, a kinetic interceptor is used, a direct hit of which is equal to the destructive impact of a 10-ton truck rushing at a speed of 600 mph (more than 1100 km / h - approx. “VP”).

Currently, the U.S. and Japanese Navy delivered more than 130 SM-3 missiles. The SM-3 Block IB modification interceptor missiles will go into service in 2015, they will be deployed both on ships and onshore launchers.

The warhead is a suborbital spacecraft - what attacks can it be inflicted on command posts? It’s like a microscope nailing nails.
