Commander of the North fleet Admiral Vladimir Korolev said that on the island of Alexandra Land, the creation of units was almost completed, and infrastructure is currently being created on the island of Kotelny in the Novosibirsk Islands.
He also noted that according to the decision of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, on the basis of the Joint Strategic Command of the Northern Fleet, a joint strategic command was formed, the task of which would be to protect the national interests of Russia and ensure the country's security in the Arctic zone.

In addition, according to him, the Northern Fleet conducted tactical maneuvers, including elements of air combat and battle against the enemy's ship strike group at high latitudes.

Also, the coastal missile system, which carried out combat exercises on actual targets with their destruction, proved itself in high latitudes, ”he stressed.
