The Federation Council approved the creation of a research center named after Zhukovsky

The institute will become a federal government agency that will be financed from the budget, as well as proceeds from the sale of rights to the results of intellectual work and the performance of various works.
The center will include five research organizations: "The Central Institute of Aviation Motors, named after P. Baranov", "The Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute. Professor N.Ye. Zhukovsky "," State Research Institute of Aviation Systems "," State State Scientific Testing Ground of Aviation Systems "and" Siberian Scientific and Research Institute of Aviation named after S.A. Chaplygin.
The activities of the new institute will be supervised by a supervisory board consisting of 15 people: representatives of the Russian president, the Council of Federation and the State Duma, scientists and employees of the defense-industrial complex.
According to the authors of the bill, “the strengthening of state influence on the development of aviation science is due to the need to create competitive samples of aviation technology, as well as the use of aircraft engineering technologies in the interests of various areas of economic activity.”
The government believes that “the creation of the center will unite the research potential of the organizations of the state sector of aviation science, concentrate resources for the development and maintenance of activities in the field of aviation technologies” and will help “to carry out a unified scientific, technical and personnel policy in this sector of sectoral science”.
