Holding "Aviation equipment »State Corporation Rostec has successfully completed one of the main stages of testing a new multi-dome parachute - strapdown landing system PBS-950U (Bahcha-U-PDS). The new PBS-950U is designed to deliver the BMD-4M airborne landing vehicle with a crew and a weight of up to 14500 kg to land. from aircraft of the IL-76 type, which are traditionally used for the transportation and landing of heavy loads of military and civilian use. It is planned that after successfully passing all stages of the tests, the PBS-950U (Bahcha-U-PDS) will be supplied to the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
Bakhcha-U-PDS was established by Aviation Equipment Holding, a leading Russian developer of equipment and cargo airborne landing systems, based on the Universal enterprise, specifically for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense. According to its characteristics, PBS-950U does not have foreign analogues and allows you to parachute advanced airborne military equipment developed on the basis of BMD-4М.
“An innovative solution for the creation of landing facilities is the developed principle of“ forced pressurization, ”said Maxim Kuzyuk, general director of Aviation Equipment holding,“ This principle guarantees filling the damping system with air and ensuring that the overloads are reduced to acceptable values when landing, which allows the crew to proceed to perform combat missions immediately after landing. "
Bakhcha-U-PDS consists of suspended, amortization, and also parachute systems. The parachute system was developed by the Parachute Building Research Institute (Research Institute of Parachuting) and includes 11 main parachute blocks with an area of 350 square. m each.
