Together with the Mistrals, Russia will get the technology

The epic, which lasted for several years, connected with the acquisition by Russia of powerful helicopter carriers from France, ended with the signing of a contract and the stormy disputes of both opponents and allies of this large-scale action over the past decades. Ambiguous judgments about the acquisition were expressed not only abroad, but also in Russian government and public circles.

The price of the transaction amounted to no less than 1,2 billion Euros. It is characteristic that the first mention of the upcoming purchase appeared in the distant 2009 year. In Russia, the main disappointment with the upcoming purchase was expressed by the Chairman of the All-Russian Trade Union of Defense Industry Workers (OBORONPROF) Andrei Chekmenev. The main reason was that Russia will lose a significant number of jobs. After all, such a powerful helicopter carrier could be built by Russia itself, but the well-known system of financing the defense complex would not lead to the effective construction of a powerful helicopter carrier. The process itself would take more than one year, and maybe even decades.

The country's defense power is a priority for our Supreme Commander Dmitry Medvedev. It is clear that no one is going to attack Russia in the foreseeable future, but the weak technical base of our Armed Forces can easily knock out the entire defense power of the country. In the event, God forbid, there will be nothing to oppose an unforeseen local war.

Other Russian analysts tend to think that in the near future our Russian army will become very dependent on foreign arms supplies, thereby significantly losing its security. Competition in the armament market of our planet in recent years has become fierce. So, for example, several years ago Sweden wanted to buy from Russia Tanks BMP, but enterprising Americans crossed the road and offered the Swedes the supply of their tanks, and for free, if only they would not take from Russia. Another curiosity is the purchase by the Americans from Russia of Mi-17 helicopters for the young Afghan army, thereby Americans emphasize their importance on the world stage.

Americans were not surprised by the purchase, but very unfriendly responded to France. The NATO ally decisively ignored the appeal of the US Congress, which said that the upcoming sale of the Mistral will be a threat to the military bloc in the near future. The US Congress reminded France that in recent years Russia has taken a hostile course towards the United States, the countries of Eastern Europe and its former Federal Republics, in particular to Estonia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine. American congressmen consider economic cyber attacks, such as gas and others, on the countries of the near abroad on the part of Russia to be the main argument against the sale of Mistral to France.

Although the official White House did not comment on the sale of Russian helicopter carriers, the statement says that NATO allies stop all economic cooperation in the military sphere with Russia.

The economic forum in St. Petersburg brought a pleasant surprise for the Armed Forces of Russia. In 2014, the first helicopter carrier will be commissioned, and in 2015, the second one. Mistrals will be based in the Far East, defending the Kuriles. But the home base will be Vladivostok. Now a document is being prepared on the work related to the construction of the appropriate infrastructure for helicopter carriers. But the purchase of a helicopter carrier must be accompanied by the acquisition of other small vessels that will serve such a colossus on water and on land. The grouping of troops of the Far Eastern region with the acquisition of a helicopter carrier will be mobile and fully functional in the region.

Together with the ships of Russia will get also fighting technologies. So, Russia received the source codes of the corresponding software on combat information management systems and communication systems. Mistral construction will be carried out in Saint-Nazare (France), and 40% of construction (24 special unit) will be carried out in Russia and then shipped to France. In the construction will take the company of Denmark, Germany and Finland. The Russian side considers this deal to be profitable also because in the case of repairing spare parts it will be easy to order from France and not depend on the United States, as happened with Venezuela at the time. At one time, this country purchased a number of weapons from the United States, and when the conflict between the two countries reached its climax, the Americans stopped supplying components to Venezuela, and the country ended up with the US weaponslike an old man at the broken trough.

The rapprochement with France will lead to closer cooperation with this country in the supply of other military equipment, so, projects are being prepared for the procurement of frigates, destroyers and corvettes, which will be in addition to the helicopter carriers. The Pacific Fleet will be equipped with high-tech military equipment, which has no analogue in Russia yet. And again, the purchase of new weapons has caused fierce disputes in Russian military circles. The heads of military defense complexes claim that our country can still produce equipment similar to the French, but they are well aware that the Russian financial machine and disorder may delay the creation of combat vehicles for many years.

It is planned that the new combat vehicles will at first begin to perform not only purely military and defense functions. So, it is planned to attract helicopter carriers and its flotilla to address the humanitarian issues of the region. The helicopter carrier will solve both the peacekeeping and humanitarian tasks of its region.

The organizers of the purchase convinced opponents of the purchase of helicopter carriers in Russia by the fact that the SENIT-9 tactical information system available on the Mistral has no analogues in the world, and its creation in Russia in the near future is not foreseen, and solving combat tasks without this system is impossible at the current stage rearmament of the Russian Armed Forces. It remains only to hope that this threatening colossus will never be used for military purposes and that Mistral’s Russian counterparts will take over sooner or later.

Wait and see. Time will put everything in its place. If the technologies of the combat control complex go along with the Mistrals, then I see nothing wrong with the acquisition

Sorry, but no time will return - the killed generation (1990 - 2000), no one will return the selected enterprises of the military-industrial complex, no one will return the workers and engineers to their jobs, all that is said by the zombie worker is idle talk ... IMHO

    Agreed as follows:
transmit 2 and build with us 2 STARTED, but without technology transfer. Although I don’t understand how they think to do this. Will they bring their workers to St. Petersburg? It seems that these agreements are still not reflected on paper.

Well, if later it turns out that our helicopters and equipment do not interfere with this miracle even from dispersal, and fitting them into them is a completely new project. Maybe they’ll have to buy their equipment. And the compatibility of the SENIT-9 system - if they are not on the escort ships. And on the other hand, this has a rational grain - their paper and them back for a tangible thing.

Today they wrote that the strike wing will be formed from the Ka-52, but it with coaxial screws, it seems to me that the Mi-28 would fit in height, they wrote that the Kamovka coaxial machines do not fit in the hangars in height.

famously GDP brings a split in NATO! I'm straight in admiration. about technology, as far as the French press writes, they are selling along with technology. Well, then our technology will be studied, they will be customized with our sledgehammer to our sizes and everything will be OK

Cool, it turns out, the generals mess and cut, and the GDP makes a split. I didn’t hear that the French states were cheating on this issue.

In March 2010, France ordered Russia with 14 Soyuz launch vehicles for $ 1 billion [66].
Hm! It must be recognized that sometimes emotions overflow and, alas, from my apartment, alas, the whole vast and complex world cannot be understood.

"Russia's acquisition of POWERFUL helicopter carriers from France"
The word "powerful" smiled, they would have written the weak.
In general, it’s sad that we are investing in French shipbuilding and pouring water on the mill of the creators of the French ASBU.

The power of a battleship is determined by artillery, and the power of a helicopter carrier or aircraft carrier by aircraft wing. Everything will depend on whether he will sail at all, escort ships and on the quality of the wing and not on the displacement. It should be understood that a helicopter carrier, unlike an aircraft carrier, practically cannot protect itself, except from pirate junks. If he was allowed to go on a long hike, then he would need escort almost equal to the aircraft carrier, with destroyers, minesweepers, and preferably with a submarine. RF, it simply will not pull in money all in full. Therefore, most likely it will be put on a raid under the cover of air defense of the land base in order to demonstrate influence in a small region. Those. if you drive this ship with a full-fledged escort, this is an analogue of American aircraft carrier formations for small headstock, but of course it is simply incomparably low power against an aircraft carrier. Those. I mean, to solve the probable problems of future conflicts for 10-20 years, it’s an almost perfect vessel for the Russian Federation. The country is not yet ready for aircraft carriers.

The purchase of the Mistral is definitely a military-political deal, which has only an indirect relation to strengthening the strength of the Pacific Fleet. Neither the military, nor the rear, nor special-technical support for the operations of these ships, even in peacetime, are in the fleet and will not be in the next 10 years. There are no berths and basing points either and never will be. Forty years of experience in the Navy suggests that the Mistrals will hang out at anchor sites for 3-4 years, make dozens of demonstration trips, knock out motor resources, go for repairs once, and after 10-12 years they will go for metal cutting, if before Do not throw a storm on the stones of the Cyril or other islands. Well, in wartime, the combat stability of these ships does not exceed 0.32, i.e. these are suicide ships.

at one time in the 60s. The USSR also became close to France and built its television on the model of French in the "RAL" system, although our techies said that this was not the best option. It is better to take "Sekam" as a basis, as it has more opportunities for further development.
In and not outburst, and with these troughs as well.

Datur, you and I are zero kopecks. Mistral is bought by one of our oligarchs, with joy, and that he did not sit next to Khodor. Secondly, Mistral is an indirect bribe to Sarkozy and his wife, who have their interest in this corporation because of France’s pro-Russian policy in the war with Georgia (like Iveco is Berlusconi’s interest). Thirdly, we really have a need for such courts, to develop our own, i.e. It would be expensive and long to invent a bicycle. If you wanted to cut something, you wouldn’t buy Mistral, but would have killed tens of 2 billion dollars for development, feasibility studies, TD, tests, etc., then you would have raised the estimate 3 times 4.
In reply. France buys a Be-200, the issue of buying it a whole range of our weapons is being considered. Maybe for resale to someone else, but this does not bother us anymore. Precedent is important. After Greece, only France, a NATO member, buys and sells its weapons to us. Among other things, France is our partner in gas pipelines in Europe, we pursue a policy towards them as opposed to an alternative to German policy. But you never know. Let the Germans know that they have an alternative. Today they are comrades and strategic partners, and who will vouch for them in a couple of decades?
Mistrals are politics, not economics, much less military-technical pragmatic cooperation. And Airbas doesn’t just win tenders here.

On one of the sites - either at the AMF, or at the Academy of Sciences, I read Serdyukov's statement on the appointment of the mistrals - "when they are built, then we will announce what they are for."
    As they say, no comment.
Just not heard about the plans to build at the Pacific Fleet infrastructure for their base.

The place of these gravitopter carriers, it was possible to invest this money in the construction of aircraft carriers of small displacement, on which helicopters and planes can be delivered, otherwise I see these as useless and helpless machines! How is he going to get to the enemy shore in case of conflict? He’ll be drowned!
