Ukraine: Russians are to blame for everything
On the situation in Slavyansk, the media transmit very conflicting information. Not only that, all parties that cover local events in ways accessible to them often exaggerate, and also do not disdain the propaganda of the worst tone. Moreover, almost every “illuminator” divides the world into friends and strangers, which is why black often turns white and blacks, and intermediate tones are not observed at all. As a result, there is no trace of objectivity. To the reader News not that difficult, but almost impossible to understand what is actually happening and whether it is happening at all. The media, alas, have turned into their exact opposite - into the media of disinformation. And then, historians, analyzing the Kiev Maidanopatch, the flight of Yanukovych and the events in the Southeast in 2014, will "break their spears", trying to find an elusive truth ...
1. Slavic story
Here is the material from RIA News". According to the data of this agency, referring to, among other things, an unnamed source in the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, the following happened on April 13 in Slavyansk.
The security forces controlled by Kiev (units of law enforcement agencies from Western Ukraine), and with them the militants of the Right Sector launched an operation against supporters of the federalization of Ukraine, who occupied the regional police department, the city council and the SBU in the city on the eve.
According to the coordinator of the movement “Russian Sector - Ukraine”, Vladimir Karasev, who is in Lugansk, about 150 supporters of the “Right Sector” in black uniform arrived in Slavyansk.
According to the press service of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, in the course of the military operation against supporters of federalization in Slavyansk and Slavyansky district 13, April one person died and nine people were injured. The health department of the regional state administration cites the following figures: five people received gunshot wounds during an operation in Slavyansk and a collision on the Rostov-Kharkov highway between Slavyansk and Artyomovsky, one person died and four were injured.
The current head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, A. Avakov, wrote on Facebook: “Slavyansk. Killed and wounded on both sides. From our side - an officer of the SBU. Wounded the head of the ATC SBU and four more. "
Finally, one of the activists of the protest movement in Donetsk, Nikolai Solntsev, told RIA Novosti about one dead in Slavyansk and two wounded by protesters, as well as two dead from the Right Sector.
The agency’s correspondent also points out that Slavyansk is now under the control of supporters of federalization. Cars with activists are moving around the city, and barricades have been erected around the police department (video is confirmed).
Channel "Euronews" notes that amateur video shots taken in the vicinity of Slavyansk and shown on the Russia 24 channel confirm information about the dead and wounded. Meanwhile, the channel also cites an ITAR-TASS report, according to which the command of the self-defense forces and the people's militia refutes the information about the clashes and victims.
13 April correspondent visited Slavyansk "Moskovsky Komsomolets" Marina Perevozkina.
She notes that Slavyansk is “under the full control of supporters of the Donetsk Republic”. On the bridge over the Torets River is a barricade of tires, behind which machine gunners are on duty in masks and in green camouflage (“Cossacks”). To the correspondent’s question about whether the Ukrainian military and the Right Sector were here, one fighter answered:
As to whether there was a firefight, the same fighter replied that they did not consider this a firefight here. Well, and the wounded, dead, about whom they speak? .. The fighter said to this:
The ataman, who introduced himself as Aayrapetyan Arthur Vartanovich, noted that his unit “did not enter combat contact with anyone. I have no information on other posts. ” For some reason nobody came to this post and did not arrive:
To the question of whether the republic would ask for support from Russia, the ataman answered:
Journalists went to the city center. In front of the city department there is a huge barricade of tires. A poster with a crossed-out swastika: "Fascism will not pass." Burning fires in barrels. “Donbass, Crimea, Russia! - protesters chant. “Slavyansk, get up!” One of the protesters says:
On questions about whether there were any attempts to seize the city and whether there were casualties, the reporter received the answer:
The victims, according to the respondent, were at the same checkpoint. Unidentified persons fired at a post from a car with Vinnitsa numbers. As a result, one militiaman was killed, the other was wounded.
Channel "Euronews" cited words and. about. President of Ukraine Alexander Turchinov. He issued an ultimatum to the supporters of federalization: to leave the administrative buildings held until the morning of April 14. He also promised them an amnesty on condition of surrender weapons. The decree signed by Turchinov concerns the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. At the same time, the provisions of the amnesty decree "do not apply to persons who have injured or killed the citizens of Ukraine, in particular, military personnel, law enforcement officers."
In the vicinity of Slavyansk fighters landed Kiev special forces for the operation. The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine prepared a “large-scale anti-terrorist operation”. And about. President reported this in a televised address. At the same time and. about. He declared his readiness to consider the issue of expanding the powers of the regions, a broad reform of local self-government and renewal of local authority.
As regards the special operation, V. Yanukovych spoke out late in the evening on 13 of April - spoke out, as they say, from a distance. His words leads "RT".
Yanukovych believes that Ukraine has one foot in the civil war and asks the military not to carry out the “criminal orders” of the current leadership of the country:
A few words Yanukovych said about the role of Washington:
According to Yanukovych, the Ukrainian security forces decided on a special operation in the east of Ukraine, after consulting with the director of the CIA. The USA acted through diplomats and special services. Viktor Yanukovych said:
Opposite estimate is issued by a West-oriented newspaper. "Ukrainian Truth".
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has all the "concrete evidence of the involvement of the Russian special services in the separatist insurrection and the seizure of state institutions in the east of Ukraine," the newspaper notes in a note published on April evening 13.
It turns out that this most specific evidence was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Moreover, the ministry promised to provide the collected evidence to the international community at the April 17 meeting in Geneva.
Here is what is said in the document of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry:
Well, and a conclusion from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
April 14 morning on "Tape.ru" A statement by Comrade Churkin, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, appeared. Vitaly Churkin rejected the allegations of Moscow’s interference:
Comrade Churkin said these words at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Sunday. And added:
And he made an offer to the West, which he most likely would refuse:
The permanent representative noted something else. According to him, "monstrous Russophobia bordering on man-hating has become the norm in the Verkhovna Rada." After all, the deputy from "Freedom" Irina Fahrion called to shoot the "creatures" opposing Kiev.
America, however, will go its own way.
Samantha Power, representing the United States and previously famous for her hysteria, compared what is happening in the south-east of Ukraine with the Crimean events and said:
In addition, Power assured that the United States will support Ukraine with money. This will be done to ensure that Ukraine embarked on the path of a “peaceful future.”
The Security Council meeting took about two hours. According to the results of the discussion, the participants did not reach a mutually acceptable solution. Which, of course, was not difficult to predict.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian south-east of Russia is not needed. This was said more 11 April, Russian Foreign Minister Comrade Lavrov.
2. Russia does not need the southeast of Ukraine
Russia does not intend to include in its composition the south-eastern regions of Ukraine: this is contrary to the interests of the country. This April 11 on the TV channel "Russia 1" said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, transmits "Lenta.ru" with reference to RIA "News".
The Russian Foreign Minister expressed the hope that the Ukrainian government will fulfill its promises to grant greater powers to the regions and that this step will be followed by others, in particular, the constitutional reform.
April 12 held a telephone conversation between Lavrov and US Secretary of State Kerry. Reported it "BBC".
In this conversation, as has been the custom since the days of the Cold War, America pressed on Russia. The Secretary of State warned Sergey Lavrov about serious consequences for Moscow. These serious consequences will come if the Kremlin does not take steps to de-escalate tensions in eastern Ukraine.
Kerry was very concerned that the “militants” who attacked the administrative buildings and police stations in Kramatorsk and Krasny Liman in Donetsk region on 12 of April had Russian weapons and were wearing the uniform of the Russian military operating in the Crimea.
Comrade Lavrov rejected Moscow’s interference in Ukrainian affairs and stated that if force was used against pro-Russian activists, Moscow would refuse to participate in the meeting of representatives of the United States, the European Union, Russia and Ukraine, scheduled for April 17.
No, America and Russia will not agree on the Ukrainian issue. Just because they read different newspapers and hold opposing views on events. In addition, Washington has never been able to admit their mistakes.
3. Moscow signs
The United States may tighten sanctions against Russia if it continues to intervene in Ukrainian affairs, said US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power. She continues to assert that in recent events in the east of Ukraine, "clear signs of Moscow’s participation are visible," "Lenta.ru" with reference to ABC News.
In her opinion, the performances in the east are not spontaneous. They are professionally coordinated from the outside.
As for the sanctions, those that are already in place, have had an impact, the Washington representative said. According to her, "the ruble fell to a record low, the stock market fell by 20 percent, investors flee the country." “We have seen that sanctions can sting,” Ms. Power said.
“If the actions that we have observed in the last days continue, then you will see increased sanctions,” she threatened.
The Reuters agency lists those areas against which Barack Obama is considering the possibility of imposing sanctions: banking, energy, and mining.
In general, we are witnessing the start of an economic blockade. Obama will inevitably do something, because for this nice person politics has always been above the economy, especially since he is in a second term of office, when he can no longer worry about reelection. And in general, it was not for nothing that the former US Secretary of Defense R. Gates was not in awe of Obama, placing even George W. Bush above. We are silent out of courtesy.
And then there was - again! - The issue of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine. Since the second for some reason does not pay the first, Moscow decided to cancel the discounts.
Ukraine is ready to pay for gas the price in 386 dollars for 1 thousand cubic meters. m, said the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv on the sidelines of the meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington, reports RBC with reference to Reuters. Mr. Kubiv assured that Ukraine will pay all the bills: "We will pay all the debts that we have, there are no other options."
Ay what good fellows. And why didn’t they scratch before? Something tells us that Kiev will not scratch even now - even after receiving money from the EU and the US (more precisely, the IMF). There will be better money for money, but why pay with these Russians, against whom the whole West is set? The West will easily agree that non-payment is like sanctions.
As you know, April 1 Alexey Miller (head of Gazprom) said that the price of Russian gas for Naftogaz Ukrainy is rising from 268,5 to 385,5 dollars for 1 thousand cubic meters. The fact is that due to debts, the discount granted in December 2013 is canceled.
A few days later it turned out that this was not an April Fool’s joke. Gazprom decided to cancel the one hundred dollars discount per thousand cubic meters of gas that Ukraine received in 2010 under the Kharkiv agreements in respect of the rent for staying in Sevastopol of the Black Sea fleetwrites RBC. And as a result, from April 1 of this year, the price of gas for Ukraine rose to $ 485,5 per 1 thousand cubic meters. On April 11, Vladimir Putin said that the situation with Ukraine’s non-payment of gas debts had become completely intolerable, which is why under the contract Gazprom was depriving Ukraine of all discounts. Putin also recalled that the deadline for payments for March of this year came on April 7, but Kiev did not pay a dollar out of 540 million. Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov also joined in with comments. He warned that Ukraine could be transferred to prepayment if it does not pay off gas debts in the near future. He said: “Ukraine, unfortunately, does not pay us at a low price - $ 268 for 1 thousand cubic meters. m, and at the contract price, which arose on April 1 ".
According to Gazprom’s estimates, Kiev owes $ 2,2 billion to gas. That's not all: by the end of this year, Kiev can accumulate debt in the amount of $ 5-6 billion.
And Kubiv means that Ukraine will pay all bills. Well, take it and pay it, since “there are no other options”!
As for the “scythe and the stone,” it’s about the fact that Ukraine believes that the Black Sea Fleet is on its territory.
RBC cites the words of the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, Yuriy Prodan, who on April 9 stated that the country is ready to pay for Russian gas, but with a discount:
He is echoed by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. He believes that Ukraine is ready to continue to buy Russian gas at the price of 268,5 dollars. "We do not accept the price of 500 dollars," he said.
Deadlock situation! Isn't Anton Siluanov right? We re-read his words: “Ukraine, unfortunately, does not pay us like a low price - 268 dollars for 1 thousand cubic meters. m, and at the price of the contract, which originated from April 1. " Yes, dear Kiev, you can't forbid living beautifully. We want in the EU, we want gas for free, and we also want a discount for the Black Sea Fleet. And the mug will not crack?
4. A few more words about the civil war
Let's return to Slavyansk. According to the Belarusian information and analytical portal "Empire" With reference to its source (anonymous) in the security forces of Ukraine, Slavyansk special forces units are stormed exclusively from Western Ukraine. Later, writes “Empire”, this was confirmed by the source of the RIA “Novosti” (this is true, see the beginning of our material).
The Empire also indicates that, according to news reports, the first victims in Slavyansk are the civilians killed by the Right Sector and those who went to their rescue.
The site cites the opinion of the executive director of the Moscow Institute of Information Wars, Yuri Baranchik. The expert believes that such geographical “exclusivity” is a fatal mistake of the Kiev junta. With their own hands, the new leaders of Ukraine removed the last barrier before the transition of the conflict in Ukraine into the stage of civil war. Here are the words of Comrade Baranchik:
The analyst notes that the blame for the first blood will be laid on the junta and on the West of Ukraine. “Now it is no longer possible to glue the vessel that was broken due to the fault of the neo-fascist junta,” the expert says. And the junta is to blame for this. In the opinion of Baranchik, “the case goes to a lot of blood”.
5. Let's sum up
The so-called Kiev authorities are doing everything to split Ukraine into two. The incitement of civil war is their own business, and not at all by the “Muscovites” who allegedly inspire insurrections in the “republics” that have appeared and are preparing for a quick invasion tens of thousands of soldiers on the border. The security forces from the western regions and with them the “Right Sector” is a kind of internal fascism in Ukraine, which means ideologically not the same as the war of the Reds with the Whites in Russia, but it can easily outgrow the civil war of the East with the West. And in this war, Russia, apparently, will have to support the East, and the US and the EU will support the West.
Therefore, the words of Lavrov that Russia does not intend to include the south-eastern regions of Ukraine in its structure, since this contradicts the interests of the country, it should be recognized as wise. Russia does not need war. And even more so the war with the West. Already the Crimea is a heavy burden for the Russian (full of holes, by the way) budget. And the very first military actions of Russia on the territory of Ukraine the whole West unequivocally recognized as an act of aggression against an independent state.
As for the program of counteracting the Kremlin at the present stage, it was, of course, thought up in the White House. Barack Obama does not want to lose the five billion dollars that were spent on the democratization of Ukraine. But it’s unpleasant: he gave money, and Russia got the Crimea. Obama and congressmen do not want to buy comrade Putin the entire Ukrainian south-east. Financial sanctions can therefore be expanded - and will hit primarily on the raw materials and banking industries (as the most vulnerable).
And, of course, any excuse — like, for example, the events in Slavyansk — will be used to wage the information war against Russia. Washington and Kiev will blame Russians for everything.
