The call to peace has not yet been heard.
Bandits continue to bombard residential areas with mortars. In Damascus province in the city of Harasta, two people were injured as a result of such shelling; in the city of Jaraman in the Al-Wahda quarter, mortar shells caused great material damage to residents. In the city of Daraya, fighters, in spite of the fact that they are hiding behind Islam, fired historical the shrine is the tomb of the granddaughter of the Prophet Seyida Sukeyna.
In the east of the country, in the city of Hasaka, bandits staged an explosion in a pharmacy located in the quarter of Salchia. A bomb pack was left there. As a result, three people were injured.
February 6 Islamists thugs launched a major attack on the positions of government troops in the province of Aleppo. A hard battle broke out in the Central Prison area near the city. Terrorists have been trying to take this area for about a year.
And the militants of the organization “Dzhebhat An-Nusra” were quick to give victorious reports to the world media: that the prison was seized, the prisoners released (members of terrorist groups) were released from it. In fact, with such reports clearly hurried.
Prison assault failed. The servicemen managed to repel the attackers. The ringleader of the gang named Abu Sayyaf Al-Shishani, a mercenary from Chechnya, a well-known Wahhabi, on whose account were killed a lot of Russians and Syrians, was eliminated.
According to the Lebanese television channel Al-Mayadin, first the terrorists tried to blow up a car bomb at the gates of the prison. The same tactic was used earlier in the storming of the nearby Al-Kindi Hospital, and it was led by the same Shishani. However, the soldiers destroyed him on the way. Then three armored bandits entered the courtyard. But the Syrian army helicopters struck at them.
A few days earlier, Syrian Defense Minister Fahed Jassem Al-Freij visited combat positions in Aleppo, supported the soldiers, paid tribute to their heroism. He expressed confidence that the province of Aleppo will soon be freed from the terrorist gangs.
In another Syrian province, Homs, 191, an action film stacked weapon and surrendered to the authorities. Repentant "oppositionists" signed an obligation to no longer take any action that could harm the security of the country. This is an unconditional step to the process of national reconciliation.
In addition, the governor of Homs province Talal Al-Barazi concluded an agreement with the UN Resident Representative in Syria Yakub Al-Khel about the evacuation of civilians under the blockade of terrorists in the areas adjacent to the Old City. It is primarily about women, children, the sick. The contract also provides for the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians who wish to stay in their homes, no matter what.
The question of the humanitarian situation in the Old Town of Homs was raised during the negotiations at the Geneva-2 conference. Representatives of the terrorists and those who support them, tried in every way to politicize this issue and attacked the government side with accusations. In fact, the districts of the Old Town are the only place in Homs where the militants are located and in which the difficult humanitarian situation has developed. More than 80% of the city is controlled by the state, and there are no such problems on this territory. For a long time, the army has not been clearing the neighborhoods occupied by militants, since terrorists use civilians as human shields. Negotiations on their release were repeatedly attempted by the Syrian side, but the gangsters did not agree and continued to hold people in the blockade and famine. Now from these quarters the most unprotected citizens will be evacuated.
As stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich, only an impartial and non-politicized approach and a disposition to constructive cooperation in the humanitarian sphere can give an effective result and alleviate the difficult situation of the Syrian people suffering from military actions.
Lukashevich noted that Damascus is committed to constructive cooperation with all international humanitarian organizations. However, “the process of ensuring humanitarian access to the population is a two-way street, and not only the government, but also militants must be responsible for this process. The latter do not hesitate to use citizens as a “human shield”.
As the Russian diplomat noted, “the main problems, as a rule, arise precisely with the delivery of humanitarian aid to areas controlled by opposition armed groups, which, because of their fragmentation, cannot agree among themselves, fire convoys and disrupt supplies. There were cases when most of the humanitarian aid was stolen by the militants and simply did not reach the civilian population. In addition, there are frequent attacks on medical facilities and their personnel, abductions, arbitrary detentions and enforced disappearances. Militants have more than 30 lives on humanitarian missions. ”
Thus, Western countries and their allies in the Arab world, who have taken an openly anti-Syrian position, are trying to politicize the issue of humanitarian aid by speculating on the sufferings of real people. At the same time, the Syrian leadership is positive towards all peace initiatives and seeks to alleviate the situation of civilians. But because of the position of “opposition” militants, supported by Washington, London, Paris, Riyadh, Ankara, Doha, and other parties, many peaceful and constructive initiatives are disrupted, and people continue to suffer and die.
