Chronicles of theatrical war in Libya. 10-11 March 2011

The European Parliament recognized the Transitional National Council (PNS) in Benghazi as the legitimate government of Libya, Nicolas Sarkozy called for “point” bombing of Gaddafi, Russia joined the sanctions against Tripoli, and the UN Security Council did not impose a moratorium on flights by Libya’s air forces. The United States made it clear to Gaddafi that his victory is not far off.
Reports from the fields of stubborn battles with the Gaddafi regime are not spoiled for variety. Ras Lanuf aviation Gaddafi once again bombed to the ground, they enter Ez-Zawiya Tanks Gaddafi, the heroic militias fight against the tanks and aircraft of the dictator. According to several journalists, Benghazi hospitals are crammed with mountains of corpses and wounded. True, no one has ever photographed any of the mountains. Perhaps it is unethical, but the world is waiting for evidence of the atrocities of Muammar Gaddafi.
The European Union, represented by Nicolas Sarkozy, showed his true face - Paris announced its intention to recognize the PNS as the legitimate government of Libya (it is still not clear who the mysterious council consists of), and the French president demanded that the European Union deliver “pinpoint bombings” to save the Libyan revolutionaries . The general mood of the British and European press - we must act as quickly as possible, otherwise the moment will be lost. 11 of March at the EU Summit David Cameron and Nicolas Sarkozy called on the EU to start solving the “Libyan issue”.
However, this proposal, as well as the initiative of London and Paris to recognize the PNS, did not cause approval from other EU countries. They agreed only on the fact that "Gaddafi must leave." In the conditions of Libya, this means that the dictator's clan and he must voluntarily move two meters underground.
The NATO summit in Brussels also ended in nothing. This means that the strategy of France and Britain to destabilize the situation in Libya is collapsing. Washington today did not fail to impose a “pig” on European colonizers: as the director of the US National Intelligence Service, James Clapper Gaddafi, said, has every chance of defeating the “revolutionaries” from Benghazi.
“We believe that Gaddafi will be able to stay in power in Libya.” His troops are better armed and have more convenient logistics than scattered insurgent units, ”said Clapper.
According to Klapper, Gaddafi does not use his full potential to fight the rebels. In this case, the initiative of France and the UK to impose control over the Libyan airspace is unlikely to be effective.
“Libya’s air force and air defense are considered second in force in this region after Egypt,” said Clapper.
Actually, this is the answer to the question why the two battalions of foreign journalists working in Libya still have not shown the world community either bombed-in residential areas, nor numerous corpses and wounded, nor any noticeable traces of fierce fighting in Libya. Gaddafi’s army practically doesn’t fight; it only drives off the rebel actors ’groups from various cities. And such a move by the Libyan dictator can not be called smart - he does not give his opponents real evidence of his cruelties. And in the event of a foreign invasion of Libya, Gaddafi will be in the eyes of the Libyans the only national leader who can lead the resistance to the invaders.
According to the official interpretation of the Tripoli authorities, Libya was confronted with an Islamist insurgency in Cyrenaica, the eastern province of the country, behind which stands al Qaeda.
Now the traditional photo parade of the achievements of the "rebels" in Libya. So, the city of Ras Lanuf, Libyan Stalingrad, around which stubborn battles rattle for the second week in a row. This is what a front-line city in Libya looks like (photo by Marco Longari, AFP / Getty Images):
There are traces of brutal bombings in Ras Lanuf:
According to legend, this neat trench was made by a bomb. There are not even traces of fragments on the walls inside the building and outside, and the outer wall itself collapsed as if it had been blown up by a small charge.
A beautiful photo of the Reuters agency: Gaddafi’s aviation is bombing a car on the road between Ras Lanuf and Binjavad.
In this photo (Getty Images) the actors are aiming from a grenade launcher at the sky, and the strong wind blows the flag of royal Libya. By the way, in Cyrenaica, the positions of the fans of King Idris, who was overthrown in 1969, are strong enough, which explains the use of the former flag.
Here is another photo of Reuters about the “bombing” of the unfortunate car on the road (see the first one above):
According to the opposition, on the morning of March 11, three tanks and 150 soldiers entered Ras Lanuf. In a number of sources, these forces are called the "elite tank division of Gaddafi."
Very beautiful staged photo, due to show the close break of a bomb or shell (AFP):
The crowd is running. The man in the back photo at the car either does not participate in the national movement, or he tinkers. In the foreground is a "rebel" with an agonizing expression.
In general, the photos from the "fronts" are not impressive. There is no evidence of air strikes, there is not even evidence of any serious fighting. According to Libyan government sources, groups of "rebels" arrive in cars in one of the cities, and then as the army approaches, they flee.
Here is another video straight from the front line (according to a number of journalists, the Benghazi hospitals are packed with hundreds of wounded and a mass of corpses, however, they didn’t manage to take pictures of anything):
"Just today, Ras Lanuf was bombed 6 times." The traces of bombing journalists apparently could not be found. Let's hope that tomorrow Ras Lanuf will bomb ten more times in the same spirit and journalists will be able to find at least something.
At all story with the Libyan aviation already reminds a joke about cowards and a dagger. In order to somehow link their statements about the heavy bombardment with the lack of visible results, some media suggest that Libyan Air Force combat aircraft are deployed far to the south of the country and therefore are limited in their capabilities. If this is true, then why are revolutionaries from Benghazi so "suffering"?
According to the Interpreter's blog, if Europe does not start either open aggression against Libya, or does not render assistance to the "rebels" in the form of its mercenaries from private military companies, the situation in Libya will turn out to be a stalemate. Gaddafi will try to dodge the real suppression of the "riot" as long as possible, and the rebels themselves will not go into a clash with the army.
Therefore, so far one of the possible scenarios is the disintegration of Libya into two states - Cyrenaica with its capital in Benghazi and Tripolitania with its capital in Tripoli. Eastern Libya will receive almost two thirds of the country's hydrocarbon reserves, with a population of about 1,5 million people. Such a scenario is not excluded in the US National Intelligence Service. But it is likely that activists in Benghazi will not be able to break the comedy of the “national” revolt for a long time, and Gaddafi will one day discover the complete absence of previously numerous “insurgents” in the country.
On the Libyan city of Zintan or how the information war against Libya is being waged
Yesterday around noon, they called our editorial office from Zintan (a city about 150 km south-west of Tripoli). The outraged Ukrainian doctor said that he was just in release News on the channel "Russia 24" (TV channel "Vesti") there was a story about Libya, where it was reported that there are fights in Zintan, which is supposedly in the hands of the opposition. The TV referred to information from French doctors working in Zintan. The man called to say that not only there were no fights in the city - and there wasn’t, but that Zintan, like all the cities of Western and Southern Libya, is under the control of the legitimate government and there are no “opposition forces” here. Moreover, there are no and never have been any French doctors in the city. There are no French doctors in Libya as a whole - for the salary that Ukrainian doctors receive here, not a single French doctor will work (1-2 thousand dollars per month, for the same reason there are also few Russian doctors), and the Libyan government does not consider it necessary to pay more to the French, who are no better than their Ukrainian counterparts - after all, it is not a question of French-speaking tutors for Russian undergrowths, but professional qualifications.
But the most interesting thing is not even this, but the fact that the French news portal France 24 almost simultaneously came up with similar information: http://www.france24.com/en/20110308-southe...ebels-gaddafi...
The French "documentary" Florent Marcie allegedly illegally crossed the Tunisian-Libyan border in the Nalut region [this probably refers to the border crossing on the Medenin (Tunis) - Nalut (Libya)] and is now in the "revolutionary" Zintan, which "is in rebel hands. However, the only evidence of his stay in this city is a photograph published by the agency with the indicator “Nalut - 68 km” (the inscription was made in Latin letters).
Considering that in Libya inscriptions on road signs are made in Arabic, and in Tunisia in French, and from the border to Nalut a little more than 35 km, then it is quite clear that the photo was taken in Tunisia - at the Tunisian traffic police post in 30 km from the border with Libya. All other information of the French “documentalist” is just as “reliable”. If the journalist really found himself in the territory of Libya in a city controlled by the rebels, then what prevented him from taking more interesting photos that would prove his words?
We are aware that at present the Russian Embassy represents the interests of France, which has evacuated its embassy and its citizens from Libya. This is a common diplomatic practice, but on what basis Russian 24s represent the interests of French 24s remains a mystery.
(Not) dear fighters of the invisible anti-Libyan information front! We certainly appreciated your clumsy attempts to achieve at least some credibility in their anti-Libyan fabrications and are even glad that you are carefully studying the materials we publish. However, March 8 (http://meast.ru/article/sobytiya-v-livii-glazami-ochevidtsev-8-marta-2011-g) we wrote only about the "unfriendly" attitude of some of the inhabitants of Zintan to the central authorities due to that during the riots three residents of the city were killed and three were injured during a night attack on a military warehouse. However, this in no way means that the city is in the hands of the "opposition" and "recognizes the power of Benghazi." Moreover, this is not a reason to declare hostilities in this city. Have a conscience, do not distort! Yes, this small town is saddened by these victims, but its residents are well aware that the main culprit is not the sentry who shot, but the one who took the youth to military depots. Therefore, they are actively cooperating with the investigation to find the true culprit of the death of their children. And remember, if we write specifically about Zintan, it means that we have a connection with him, and we can easily check and disprove your next lie.
