Footage of Ukrainian soldiers fleeing from the second line of defense in the Ocheretino area is shown.
The most significant events of today in the special operation zone occurred in the Donetsk Republic, where the Russian army continues to liberate territories and settlements occupied by Ukrainian militants.
In the Avdeevsky direction, according to Russian sources, the enemy left positions in the area of the village of Berdychi, which is part of the so-called second line of defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. To the north, our fighters have hoisted the Russian tricolor in the village of Solovevo and are advancing on the outskirts of the village of Arkhangelskoye. In Novokalinovo, our troops operate on the southern outskirts.
Interesting and significant information is being received regarding the Russian Armed Forces, which was taken the day before during a rapid assault on Ocheretino, north-west of Avdeevka. When ours broke through the defense here, the Ukrainian command urgently brought into battle the 100th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, considered one of the least prepared brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, fresh forces did not help; the counterattack immediately fizzled out. The units of the 100th Mechanized Infantry Brigade were scattered, suffered heavy losses and, without achieving any result, retreated in disarray to their original positions.
Most likely, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is currently puzzling over how, given the shortage of forces and means, to stop the further expansion of the front, the breakthrough of Russian troops towards the flanks and deep into the second line of defense after the capture of Ocheretino. In addition, the chaotic nature of the counterattacks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, mainly by the remnants of the retreating units, indicates that the Ukrainians either do not have a sufficient number of combat-ready reserves, or they are being heavily protected in anticipation of a further large-scale advance of the Russian Armed Forces.
The gaps even with the enemy’s second line of defense west of Ocheretino are indicated by this seemingly insignificant, but characteristic example. A video of the disorderly escape of militants from the 68th separate Jaeger Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has appeared online. Leaving their positions, and without the fire influence of the RF Armed Forces, the Ukrainian soldiers, under the cover of darkness, panicked and loaded themselves into a pickup truck and rushed away. At the same time, they did not even notice or did not want to notice that they had left their brother-in-law, who was unlucky enough to jump into the departing transport.
And it’s also worth noting: the 68th brigade is not in the advanced positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defensive line, which means that either the first lines no longer exist, or the fighters are completely bad with discipline. It is possible that the reason for the escape was the reconnaissance drone of the Russian Armed Forces discovered by the “jaegers” in the sky, the appearance of which is usually followed by strikes aviation or artillery. Previously, the 68th Separate Brigade had already distinguished itself by disobeying command and refusing to carry out tasks in the Semyonovka area.
Russian troops are gradually making their way upward in the direction of Chasy Yar and occupying strongholds in the eastern part of the city and on the flanks so that there is somewhere to concentrate forces for a strike. Operations are conducted both directly towards the city, and to the north and south of it. It is possible that Chasov Yar will be encircled, and then the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have to leave the city conveniently located on a hill. Being even in a semi-encirclement is fraught with heavy losses due to the superiority of Russian aviation and artillery.
It is reported that the Ukrainian command has already withdrawn the 67th brigade, which was responsible for the defense of the city, from Chasy Yar. It was replaced by the 241st Brigade, but this is not a mechanized unit, but a military defense unit that does not have a sufficient number of armored vehicles and guns.
There was quite intense fighting in the Luhansk Republic, near Kremennaya, but Russian forces were unable to achieve any advances that would be confirmed. Now the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not trying to conduct any offensive operations, and therefore the front line, despite attempts by both sides to counterattack, has not changed.
