“Our defense industry will not win”: a Polish expert criticized arms purchases in South Korea

The Polish authorities intend to continue purchasing various types of military equipment from South Korea. However, this strategy naturally caused outrage among a number of Polish military experts.

The thing is that Warsaw previously planned to develop joint production of military equipment with Seoul. Now we are talking only about the purchase of ready-made weapons. But in this case, national production is not developing, as Polish military expert Bartłomiej Kucharski from the magazine “Army and Technology” draws attention to in a conversation with the information resource o2.pl.

We buy there Tanks, howitzers, rocket launchers and aircraft. Worse, our defense industry will gain almost nothing from this

- the Polish expert emphasized.

According to Kucharski, Poland has become only a supplier of funds for South Korea. Technologies are not transferred, joint production of tanks, howitzers and missile launchers is not carried out. But the Polish military department, the expert notes, previously advertised the purchase of weapons from the Republic of Kazakhstan as an incentive for the further development of the Polish military industry.

But all this, as the Polish publication notes, is theory, but in reality a completely different picture is observed. Poland is planning to purchase K239 Chunmoo rocket systems from South Korea. Of course, we are not talking about technology transfer either.

Weapons As a result, Polish factories will not be loaded with contracts, new jobs will not appear, and in the event of a large-scale armed conflict, the country simply will not be able to quickly increase arms production, since there will be neither technology nor ready-made production lines.

As the Polish press notes, over the next few years, such a procurement policy will lead to a decrease in the combat readiness of the Polish armed forces and to large financial costs. After all, the army’s costs for ammunition and weapons will depend on the supplier of these military goods.

In the event of a large-scale armed conflict, your country will no longer be able to increase anything, due to its complete absence on the world map. No one will be pardoned, but you will definitely not be pardoned. Based on the totality of merit...

    History moves in circles.
“Why do something if you can buy everything?” While there is still money, the Poles are diligently laying out rakes around them....

After the change of power, the Polish expert probably lost his subsidies, so he began to criticize, although he had previously been delighted. The purchase of ready-made equipment is justified, since Polish defense companies have said that they will produce something within a few years, and the government does not intend to wait. There is a phobia that Russia will attack within three years and that is why they want to have ready-made equipment and trained crews, and not wait several years for deliveries. Korean suppliers are happy because they can produce quickly and sell on their own terms.

Poland has become only a supplier of funds for South Korea.
Strange people buy South Korean weapons themselves, and then they are surprised that their production is not developing and Poland is a supplier of funds to the Republic of Kazakhstan. They themselves wanted to quickly rearm, but now there is no one to blame. Wait, there will still be problems with servicing South Korean equipment, spare parts, etc.

    First, you buy.
Then you test it in your own exercises.
Then you copy it with improvements.
Then you develop your improved one.
    Chinese way.

Then you destroy your defense order and buy tanks from the Germans.
Then you save money and switch to Koreans.

Korean ones are more expensive than German ones.
But the productivity of factories in South Korea is several times higher,
than in Germany. Who wants to get a quality weapon? fast,
        buys in South Korea.

Expensive? So the way is even better! 20 years ago they were the same fast wanted to get Leopards instead of a domestic prospect. They buried the tank industry, now they will destroy the wheelbase, if there is any left.

Polish tank industry - these were T-72s.
The tanks are so outdated that there is nothing to talk about them.
With an ancient gearbox and weak armor.
Somehow the T-90 has been improved and strengthened, but it is clear that this is a development dead end.
            The limit of this design.

The scheme does not change, the chinota for kickbacks and support of senior leaders pushes through imports from the right countries, from the right manufacturers. It doesn't matter whether they're irons, tights or tanks.
