Deputy Foreign Minister: NATO nuclear facilities, if located in Poland, will become military targets of the Russian Armed Forces

Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov said that if NATO countries place their nuclear facilities on Polish territory, they will become a legitimate military target for the Russian army.

As the TASS, Ryabkov emphasized that the process of expanding the practice of joint nuclear missions of NATO countries has a threatening and destabilizing nature. The placement of such facilities in close proximity to Russian borders creates a certain danger for our country.

At the same time, according to the Deputy Foreign Minister, we are talking not only about the permanent deployment, which representatives of the Polish leadership recently announced, but also about any attempts to even temporarily deploy nuclear weapons. Ryabkov added that politicians who are currently discussing options for deploying nuclear weapons in Poland and other countries should understand that such actions do not contribute to the security of these countries, and all relevant facilities will inevitably become targets. The diplomat noted that Moscow is observing discussions about the deployment of NATO nuclear facilities in Poland, and is also working on this issue in its internal discourse.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that the alliance has no plans regarding the deployment of nuclear weapons on Polish territory. However, the president of this country, Andrzej Duda, in turn, announced Warsaw’s readiness to place an American nuclear weapon on its territory. weapon.

Strange... But in my naivety, I always believed that any NATO nuclear facilities, regardless of where they are located, should be the targets of the Russian Armed Forces... The Alliance and the States included Russia among the states (countries) hostile to them and strategic opponents , and what are we... Still not there...??? request

This means that nothing nuclear will fall to the Polish hawks. And ordinary Poles will breathe a sigh of relief.

And now the whole of Poland is not a legitimate target for our strategic nuclear forces?
In my opinion, Poland and its cities are one of the priority goals.
Again some red lines are being drawn.
It would be better if the Ivanovs were sent to life imprisonment. am

Before attacking a country that does not have nuclear weapons with nuclear weapons, it would be a good idea to declare war on it. Otherwise, this may be regarded by the whole world as an unprecedented act of barbarity and terrorism. The consequences of such a move could be catastrophic, including complete border closures and isolation. And comments like yours are quoted only in Western media and contribute to the creation of an image of Russians as barbarians and terrorists.

Target and attack are two completely different words and concepts.
The USSR Strategic Missile Forces had been targeting the United States for decades, but never attacked.
When Khrushchev tapped his shoe on the UN podium, none of the Westerners dreamed of a civil war in Ukraine. Everyone dreamed of having their own nuclear bunker. The West should tremble with fear at the mere mention of the word Russia.

Three years ago they were trembling, afraid to put on their helmets. Now they are just laughing after the decisive actions of Russian politicians. We are at the stage of the F-3 and missiles with a range of 16 kilometers, this time next year we will be protesting the transfer of nuclear weapons to Ukraine.

What are you offering? Take the American embassy in Moscow by storm and impale the ambassador?
We just also need to supply weapons to the Houthis, Basques, Irish, etc. of all stripes. To do this, you need to have SVR and FSB employees who do not have relatives, property, or accounts abroad. But this is unrealistic. Ivanov alone did more damage to Russia than the power steering. How many such Ivanovs are there in the country? To shoot them is not to shoot them. am

An attack on any NATO country is “more often than not” perceived as an act hostile to NATO and will be met with a response. An attack on any country would entail enormous financial costs for many generations of Russians. Someone will have to pay for the destroyed cities... and a nuclear attack, even after a declaration of war, even against a NATO country, will be met with an immediate nuclear response. China will definitely turn its back on Russia, which will lead to even greater degradation of the Russian economy. Thinking of nuclear weapons as a means of attacking any country is a pipe dream and borders on madness... but none of the Russian authorities are crazy, so don't worry, the children of Russian dignitaries study and live in the West... and all this rhetoric is... just theater))).

There is someone to exchange this useless mineral of S.V. Lavrov. And exchange Masha for someone younger and more fun.

        - all superiors are soft-bodied, like an unpleasant warm mass - superiors should not be like that! Read Valentin Pikul’s “The Battle of the Iron Chancellors” - this is what superiors should be like!

if NATO countries locate their nuclear facilities on Polish territory, they will become a legitimate military target for the Russian army.
As I understand it, this is done by default and the potential enemy is well aware of this.

I really want to know the difference between a legitimate military target and an illegal one... It’s just bursting...
And it still dazzles the eyes from the red lines...

There is a serious subordination in the Foreign Ministry; it is not Maria Zakharova’s place to voice such things. .We carefully read what position Sergei Ryabkov has - Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Since 2008, he has been in charge of issues of bilateral relations with the countries of North and South America, non-proliferation and arms control, issues of the Iranian nuclear program and the participation of the Russian Federation in BRICS. The deputy always consults with the boss - what to say and when to say it.

Within the framework of the doctrine of the Russian Federation, cases that give the Russian Federation the right to use physically nuclear bombs and missiles are clearly spelled out. Even - too much, in my opinion...
And if you look at this from a practical point of view, then the Russian Federation will almost never / does not have the legal right, within the framework of the doctrine, to use its nuclear reserves. But you can always hold anyone at gunpoint for an infinitely long time. Does this make sense? Maybe there is.
I would venture to suggest even more: it is possible and necessary to declare the retargeting of warheads at the adversary, but it is not at all necessary to do this in practice, because no one can verify the fact of target targeting.
The overall impression is of some kind of surrealism beyond logic and practical understanding of the situation with atomic weapons: now many people have them and in decent quantities, their use in practice means an instant “fur-bearing animal” for everyone; as a result, this weapon can be considered... - USELESS from the point of view of deterrence, because even at the most extreme limits of development of “relations” everyone is sure (and not without reason) that the bonbs will remain in warehouses and mines.
    Paradox?
Not really... 70 years ago everything “played” in “those” conditions. The “containment” formula (actually, mathematically) worked. BUT - nothing lasts forever under the sun. The world and technology do not stand still.
Objectively: we need to come up with other deterrent factors. One of which, by the way, may be economic, resource. This is what they tried to do using the example of sanctions. And something worked, objectively. Without any nuclear warheads.
