Western media: Great Britain decided to supply Paveway IV precision bombs to Ukraine
49
The British authorities decided to transfer high-precision weapons to the Kyiv regime. aviation Paveway IV bombs. This was reported by Western media citing informed sources.
Earlier, during a visit to Poland, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced new military assistance to Ukraine. He also stated that London will provide support to Kyiv as long as Ukraine needs this support.
It is known about the Paveway IV aerial bombs that they are an updated version of the Mark 82 free-fall high-explosive bomb. Such aerial bombs are usually launched from Eurofighter Typhoon and Tornado GR4 aircraft, which are in service with the air forces of a number of European countries. However, in Ukraine, Ukrainian Soviet-made MiG-29 and Su-27 aircraft will be adapted to use these aerial bombs.
Air bombs of this type have inertial navigation and GPS, which increases the accuracy of strikes. Target designation tasks are also simplified. The bombs are designed to destroy fortified targets, including hangars and command posts.
Currently, such bombs are used by the air forces of the United States, Great Britain and Saudi Arabia. Now, therefore, Ukraine has appeared on the list of countries armed with this type of ammunition. Probably, the British authorities expect that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to use such bombs to strike Russian military targets in the liberated territories and in the front-line zone.
