The Times of Israel: Israel used a half-ton supersonic Rampage missile to strike Iran

Israel's recent strike on Iran used a long-range supersonic missile and appears to have been a Rampage air-to-surface missile, The Times of Israel reports.

US officials said Israel launched a missile attack on a military base near the city of Isfahan on Friday. Israel did not confirm the reports, while Iran said there was minor damage.

Although it is not yet known exactly what weapon was used in the strike, The Times of Israel writes that, based on photographs and damage from the strike, it can be said that it was a Rampage missile.

The Rampage missile was developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for use against targets such as communications and command centers, air force bases, maintenance centers and critical infrastructure.

According to the company's website, the missile weighs 1250 pounds (567 kilograms) and is a "precision, long-range, non-homing air-to-ground strike weapon." It can fly at speeds of 1250 mph (over 2 km) and has a range of up to 000 miles (over 190 km).

Let us recall that Iranian-Israeli relations, if you can call them that, greatly deteriorated after Israel struck the Iranian consulate in Syria on April 1. In response, Iran attacked Israel with more than 300 missiles and drones on the night of April 14. And on April 19, information appeared that Israel responded by striking a military facility in the Iranian city of Isfahan.

Well, there’s one lying in a swamp in Iraq, it definitely has an attachment to an airplane pylon. Why did it fall? Did it break or was it broken?

so Rampage is like our X-69 or the English Storm Shadow and the German Taurus KEPD 350
this is all no more than 300 kg of explosives
but FAB-1500 with UMPC with 700 kg of explosives is still cooler - only the range is no more than 100 km

Equating a ballistic missile to a cruise missile is brilliant

"Strike on a military base Israel has not confirmed"-

    — Right now, until there is official confirmation, it doesn’t count...

If the range is 300 km, this begs the question... From whose airspace did they attack!? request

Israel has peace there only with Egypt and Jordan. So what's the difference?

This question also arose. Roughly speaking, from Tel Aviv to Isfahan is 1500-1600 km. in a straight line, and the declared range of the missile is 300 km, and this can only be reached from the territory of Iraq. winked

a long-range supersonic missile was used
Israel refused to comment on the attack; Iran officially stated that the attack involved UAVs (“toys that our children play with”). Now information about the rocket appears. What will they say tomorrow?

Judging by the radar it was a missile

Iranian sources have already written about the use of this missile when shelling the city of Isfahan (?). According to them, the range of action of this missile can be from 150 to 250 km. But in any case, its use against objects near the city of Isfahan looks doubtful. Taking into account the fact that the distance from the western border of Iran to Isfahan is about 450 km, it turns out that Israeli fighters must have penetrated deep into Iranian territory. Which, to put it mildly, looks implausible.

That's the whole point. They penetrated into the airspace and they didn’t even notice. This was not an attack but a demonstration of capabilities.

If there had been penetration, the result would have been different. For demonstrators, most likely.

A long-range supersonic missile was fired at Iran, and it appears to have been a Rampage missile.

Israel is not a very large state. The wide range of missiles they produce is surprising.
