Bloomberg: US aid will give Ukraine a break, but is unlikely to turn the tide of the war

US approval of aid to Ukraine is a lifeline for Ukraine's beleaguered armed forces, although on its own it is unlikely to turn the tide of the war, Bloomberg writes.
Much will depend on how quickly US aid can reach the front lines after the House of Representatives approved the aid, the paper said. With the package stalled in Congress for six months, the Ukrainian military faces increasingly severe shortages of ammunition and manpower while Russian forces press their advantage, Bloomberg said.
The assistance will provide respite to the Ukrainian military and help them slow down the advance of Russian troops, conduct an effective defense and minimize losses. However, more help is needed to move forward
- the American publication quotes Nikolai Beleskov, a researcher at the National Institute for Strategic Studies in Kyiv.
The question is also whether there will be assistance and in what volume in 2025 and beyond, Beleskov believes.
Let us recall that yesterday the lower house of the American Congress voted to allocate $60,8 billion for the so-called support for Ukraine. The bill is expected to reach President Joe Biden's desk soon after the Senate considers it on Tuesday. Last week, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder said weapon can be “very quickly” delivered to Ukraine as soon as the appropriate funds arrive at the US Department of Defense.
