“They will be destroyed in a couple of days”: a German journalist gave a pessimistic forecast for the fate of F-16 fighters after their transfer to Ukraine

American-made F-16 fighters will be very easily destroyed by the Russian army if they are transferred to Ukraine and appear at the front. This forecast was given by German journalist Julian Röpke, who is engaged in military analytics on the Ukrainian conflict.

Earlier, Denmark and the Netherlands announced the upcoming transfer of F-16 fighter aircraft to Ukraine. Their delivery to the Ukrainian army is expected in the summer of 2024. But many experts are convinced that nothing good will come of this idea for the planes and Ukraine.

Aircraft will become easy targets and will be destroyed in a couple of days or weeks

- the German journalist wrote on his social network account.

Röpke argues his position by saying that the Russian army managed to almost completely destroy the Ukrainian air defense system. Without air defense support, American-made aircraft will simply be useless in a conflict and will become very easy targets for Russian strikes.

Recent arrivals in the Dnepropetrovsk region indicate that Ukraine can no longer fully protect its airspace, even when it comes to the defense of strategically important facilities. Thus, the planes can be destroyed at the airfields, and Kyiv will not be able to use them covertly.

It is possible that it is precisely for these reasons that Western countries are very slow in transferring combat weapons to the Kyiv regime. aviation. Western governments understand that the planes will not have any impact on the course of the conflict, but will be quickly destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces.

So the Germans don’t have Fu 16, they fly on Tupkhons...
Although, they swung at fu 35, they will buy, apparently... they haven’t created anything sensible in geyrop, and they won’t create, apparently.

German disinformer. Over the course of two years, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have learned to hide and camouflage their objects and equipment well.

Apparently, our intelligence capabilities have increased noticeably, just as the reaction to fresh data has become prompt...
In general, who said what, guessed, guessed, it doesn’t matter.
Let's see how it gets done.

This is too optimistic. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are not going to use the F-16 for its intended purpose - as a fighter. They only need them as a platform for launching long-range missiles, so they will not fly out from the rear and will not engage in combat with our fighters. And they can even be based in Poland.

That's where they will be destroyed. Perhaps together with Poland.

In my opinion, the terms of delivery of F-16s supplied by the United States directly prohibit the permanent deployment of Ukrainian F-16s on the territory of NATO countries. And it’s clear why. A missile from an S-300 or from an SU-35 can catch up with it and shoot it down over NATO territory or right over an Air Force base.

No. I said “to be based at airfields in Poland,” and not “to attack from airfields in Poland.”
It’s done in an elementary way. A “jump airfield” is being created. Based in Poland. They take off - jump airfield - attack - jump airfield - to base.

And who will ask this f-16 over the territory of Ukraine from the main. base or from a jump. Monitor the suspension? Again. Any f-16 in the skies of Ukraine can be attacked either by an air-to-air missile from an SU-35 or from the ground from an S-300. Missiles, like the F-16, can maneuver and catch up with the F-16 already over NATO territories.

For some reason, the SU-24s allow themselves StormShadow without entering either the zone of our air defense or the reach of the SU-35. Strange, right? The only thing left to do is either try to catch them at the airfields, or catch them by making mistakes when they fly too close. And the jump airfield will be even deeper in the rear than the current launch points. Therefore, the path from the AP to the “base” is generally completely safe.

And this is said by the same Röpke, who until recently kissed Ukraine everywhere, praising it. Then, outright pessimism gradually began to appear, and now a general defeatist mood began to appear. The sick person has probably already been added to the Peacemaker database.

What is most funny is their conclusion that we have become stronger than the USSR.
By the way, these are the conclusions of the US Congress.
Well, dear guys, why did we do perestroika with the money of American taxpayers?

Now it’s not enough for you, here are our “lesser boys”, accept them into the EU.

Considering the fact that the former Soviet aviation could not be destroyed in two years, the statement is very strange.

Considering the fact that the former Soviet aviation could not be destroyed in two years, the statement is very strange.

What's strange about it? The maximum that is promised for the Ukroluftwaffe is 15-30 aircraft. And the old Soviet aviation, which is no worse than the same old American aviation (and no one will give them a new one), which was destroyed for two years, was assembled for the Ukrainian Reich all over the world, and as a result, in addition to their own fifty aircraft, they were fitted with the same number because of borders.
Well, now make up the proportion yourself...

The Nazi and Russophobe Repka suddenly became concerned about the fate of the F-16? I wonder what he offered for protection. There is no other way to launch a nuclear strike on Russian airfields.

Such conclusions are refuted by one simple thing - the fact that after more than two years of conflict, the Ukrainian Air Force has not only survived, but is actively participating in hostilities.
Even though they were very shabby, they were preserved.
And judging by open information, there is not a single disbanded aviation unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces yet.
This suggests that they are expecting replenishment with Western aircraft and probably pilots from NATO countries.
Recently, a video appeared online of Ukrainian Su-27s dropping French glide bombs.
Well, of course, the recent attack of Western cruise missiles on Lugansk and Crimea is also the work of Ukrainian Su-24s.

So not everything is as clear as they say in the article.
If Russia cannot detect old Su-24 type aircraft with a large ESR on the territory of Ukraine and track their departures, then the ESR of the F-16 is much smaller.
And it will be extremely difficult to complete their work.

The F-16's EPR is significantly smaller.

I think EPR is not the main thing here. Su24s operate at low altitudes and probably F16s will too.

Well, now make up the proportion yourself...

Nobody collected anything except a few dozen MiG-29s and Su-25s transferred by Slovakia/Macedonia/Poland.
But the usefulness of these machines is minimal, the first is used as a HARM launch platform, the second sometimes appears near the front line.

There have been enough such good things as Su-27 and Su-24 in Ukraine itself since the collapse of the USSR.
In arched shelters and hangars of ARZ.
As of 24, there were about 1993 Su-200s alone left there!
A myriad of spare parts and engines for them.

And who could supply them with such planes?

    Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Indonesia, Vietnam, for obvious reasons, will not give anything in terms of the Su-27;
Uganda and Ethiopia had less than a dozen Su-27s, but they were long forgotten and unusable firewood.
    No one else has it.

Regarding the Su-24, again, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Iran, Algeria and Syria will not give anything for obvious reasons.
They were in commercial quantities and serviceable only in these countries.

      they won't give anything
I wouldn't be so sure. Through third parties, secretly and for an appropriate price - it is quite possible.
      serviceable
Poland seems to be good at repairing equipment; some of the faulty ones can be made serviceable.

The F-16s intended for transfer to Ukraine have been based in Romania for more than six months.
They are being actively modernized with the participation of the Netherlands and other NATO countries.
Just recently, the Minister of Defense of this country herself was there on an inspection and made a flyover.
They are preparing for electronics and sighting containers.

Even if, hypothetically, they begin to fly combat sorties into Ukraine from the territory of neighboring NATO countries, how will Russia be able to record these sorties, determine that this is specifically an F-16 and, accordingly, officially declare that Romania or Poland is providing its territory for this?
After all, if they cannot detect flights of old Su-24s with a huge EPR, then how will they detect flights of these fighters to Ukraine?

When our air defense was on Zmeiny, they could at least somehow control the border with Romania.
    At least partially.
But now it’s just oh and ah.

Aren't you tired of broadcasting such nonsense? At first, the whole war was planned to be won “in a couple of days.” But today there is no end in sight and the result is unpredictable.
