“Landscape design” from the Russian Aerospace Forces: footage of FAB strikes with UMPC on Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in Chasov Yar is shown
The Russian army continues preparations for the capture of another strategically important settlement in the DPR. After several months of difficult urban fighting, which ended with the liberation of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), our troops continue their confident advance to the west. The next important fortification in this direction is the last large settlement of the so-called Donetsk agglomeration, the city of Chasov Yar, through the eastern outskirts of which the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal flows.
The enemy has significantly strengthened this city since 2014, although even the current, much less previous, rulers of Kyiv probably had no expectation that sooner or later it would have to be defended quite recently. Now Zelensky demands from Commander-in-Chief Syrsky, as was already the case with Soledar, Bakhmut, Marinka and Avdievka, to hold the city at any cost and not only because of reputational losses. After the capture of Chasov Yar, the Russian Armed Forces will have new operational opportunities for further offensive in several directions at once. For the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on the contrary, new difficulties arise with the defense of much less prepared positions.
Currently, Russian forward detachments have secured a foothold on the eastern outskirts of Chasov Yar in the Kanal microdistrict, while at the same time the flanks are being pulled up and consolidated in occupied positions to develop the offensive. On the northern flank, the Russian Armed Forces are attacking enemy positions in the Kalinovka area. From the south, progress proceeds along the highway from Ivanovskoye.
So far, there are no plans for a frontal assault from the eastern positions of the city. At the same time, the most powerful processing of identified enemy positions throughout the entire area of the populated area is carried out with artillery fire. The most destructive for the enemy are airstrikes, especially high-explosive air bombs (FAB) with a universal planning and correction module (UMPC). These heavy ammunition became a real nightmare for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
At the same time, Russian military officers report a significant increase in the number of assault attacks aviation Russian Aerospace Forces, and in the immediate vicinity of Chasov Yar, actually above enemy positions. It is noted that a noticeable reduction in the flight range of attack aircraft to the nearest enemy positions is another marker of a significant deterioration in the general condition of Ukrainian air defense. Previously, our pilots mainly worked at long range from a nose-up position, which reduced the effectiveness of strikes.
Regular footage of the use of FAB with UMPC on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Chasov Yar is published by Russian channels. The video shows a series of four strikes with powerful high-explosive bombs, apparently on a suburban enemy defense line in a private sector. The strikes were carried out very closely, which is a consequence of the literally brilliant work of the pilots of the Russian Aerospace Forces. This kind of “landscape design” will greatly facilitate the advancement of our assault infantry and armored vehicles in the future.
