“You need to think with your head”: British Foreign Minister called on Israel to refrain from responding to the Iranian strike
British Foreign Secretary Lord David Cameron called on Israel to refrain from responding to the Iranian strike. He believes that Israeli authorities need to think with their heads, not their hearts.
The chief British diplomat said this on the air of Times Radio.
According to him, London hopes that the Israeli military will not launch a retaliatory attack on Iran. Instead, he believes, they should focus on fighting Palestinian militias.
According to Cameron, we must not forget that hostages from among Israelis and foreign citizens are still being held in the Gaza Strip.
The British official believes that under no circumstances should escalation be allowed in the Middle East region, because it could lead to dire consequences. At the same time, Cameron condemned the actions of Tehran, which, in his opinion, responded disproportionately to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.
- noted the Minister.
An IDF strike on the Iranian diplomatic mission in the Syrian capital killed two senior generals. Tehran's retaliatory attack can be called historical, because, despite long-standing enmity, Iran carried out a direct attack on Israel for the first time in its modern history, that is, since 1979, when, as a result of the revolution and the overthrow of the Shah dynasty, the country became an Islamic Republic.
