Kuleba: The West does not want to give Kyiv additional Patriot air defense systems, offering Stinger MANPADS
The latest strikes by the Russian Armed Forces have practically deprived Ukraine of air defense systems, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is experiencing big problems with the availability of anti-aircraft missile systems, and Western sponsors do not want to restore the combat potential of air defense. This statement was made by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
The Ukrainian minister complained about the West’s reluctance to transfer additional Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Kyiv; instead, Ukraine is being sold Stinger-type man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems. At the same time, according to Kuleba, Western countries have “extra” air defense systems, but no one wants to give them away. But Kyiv needs these complexes more.
- said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
As Ukrainian resources write, today up to 75% of Russian missiles and drones-kamikazes of the "Geran-2" type hit targets, since air defense is not able to repel raids. This was shown by the latest attacks on Odessa, as well as other cities of Ukraine. Kyiv is more or less protected, but the situation there is not so rosy, given that Russia is purposefully destroying Ukrainian air defense. And the Stinger-type MANPADS proposed by the West are not relevant today, because the Russian aviation prefers not to enter the affected area.
