Repair teams have barely begun restoring the airfield in Starokonstantinov when attack drones begin to arrive again

On the night of January 4, the Russian Armed Forces launched further attacks on enemy targets in rear areas. Once again in recent days, objects in Kharkov and the region have been attacked.

Several arrivals at industrial and military facilities were recorded in the regional center. Information about a series of explosions was confirmed by a Kyiv protege in Kharkov.

The installations of the national battalion personnel - from the National Guard of Ukraine - were also hit.

It also became known that Russian drones type "Geranium" once again flew to a military facility in the Khmelnitsky region. And again the arrivals took place at the airfield in Starokonstantinov. This is at least the 10th strike on the airfield since mid-December 2023. During this time, the Kiev regime lost in Starokonstantinov two air defense missile launchers, a radar, two refueling vehicles, a truck in which they tried to remove aviation components, navigation equipment, etc.

The repair crews barely begin to restore the airfield's runway when attack drones fly along it again, eliminating the members of the repair crews themselves.

Also during the night, strikes were carried out on Ukrainian reserve formations in the Kupyansk area, at a time when they were trying to reach firing positions in the direction of Sinkovka.

So much money and effort was spent on bombing this airfield over two years that it would be better to hit it once with a 5-kiloton nuclear warhead. It’s a pity, it’s impossible, there are brotherly people there...

It seems to me that we don’t have such low-power bombs or missiles, the count there is in the tens of kilotons, so why send two 152-mm shells with RD4-1 warheads of 2,5 kilotons each?

It seems to me that you are mistaken, read the translation of a foreign article about what warheads the Kinzhals are equipped with - I posted it there: https://topwar.ru/233557-perehvat-teoreticheski-nevozmozhen-v-zapadnoj-presse- ocenili-zajavlenija-kieva-o-jakoby-10-ti-sbityh-giperzvukovyh-raketah.html
Yes, and nuclear land mines with a yield of 1-3 kilotons were still in the Soviet arsenals, no one seemed to have eliminated them.

Why not 200kt? Why waste time on trifles? This is a war, and not much has been spent on the airfield.

Below Pavel Sveshnikov confirmed that 5 kt will be enough. Why waste nuclear weapons irrationally?

I simulated a 5 kt air explosion at the Starokonstantinov airfield on the website https://nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap. The entire infrastructure will collapse or burn. Casualty estimate: 320 dead and 1400 seriously injured. A bit much. Radioactive contamination for 14 days. Massive fires, burned and blind people. It would be enough to close the airfield for at least a month. But the picture for Western media would be ideal. The probability of such a blow is zero. You can forget about it.

        I totally agree.

Yes, an interesting thing. It's a pity that there is no version in Russian. And I am not very strong in the language of the enemy.

Personally, I don’t have any brotherly people there. And our oligarchs and some of those who cling to power also have it. Only he is not there either, but in New York, London and other business capitals.

The oligarchs do not make any decisions. If they could really influence foreign policy, then not only would there be no Northern Military District, but even Crimea.

There would be a runway to bomb, but apparently ours are saving them for themselves, for the future. And it’s not even reachable by planners, it’s far from the front line (((...

I would not overestimate the drone bombing of an airfield; rather, this is done to identify air defenses, and the “liquidation” of members of repair teams only raises a smile. No, they are, of course, not immortal, but strikes by hypersonic missiles are one thing, and strikes by drones, whose flight time is calculated in hours and the route is approximately known, is quite another.

Well, the job of drones is to destroy infrastructure. They are hitting outbuildings, warehouses, equipment, and there are people there, they die anyway, even if not that many, these are still not residential barracks, although perhaps they are there too and they are also being hit. The drones carry out their task and, at the same time, thin out the staff a little more.

“Repair crews barely begin to restore the airfield’s runway when attack drones fly along it again, eliminating the members of the repair crews themselves.”
    - Maybe the planes should have been targeted? They are harder to get than members of the repair crews... No?

That didn’t stop them from striking Feodosia on the 26th and hitting the Novocherkassk large landing ship...
    .~. what .~...
Aircraft/air defenses are not running out, base airfields/critical logistics facilities are not destroyed, but all sorts of Kyiv “outhouses” are being hit with special zeal and passion.

And the meaning. The repairmen were already tense. Those who don’t stick their noses out will be sent to the front, and new repairmen of military age will quickly be found in their place.

It remains to be understood what higher powers are preventing the destruction of the bridges across the Dnieper... restoring the bridge across the Dnieper does not mean filling up a crater at the airfield... there will be work for months... and during all this time there will be no supply of ammunition, equipment and ammunition to the LBS from the west Ukraine... but apparently, for some, the well-being of Ukrainians is more important than the lives of Russian soldiers...

Someone openly fantasized according to the principle “What else could we invent?”
The Geranium warhead is unable to cause any serious damage to the runway. Geranium itself can be heard from far enough away for the repair crew to take cover.

Bombing a runway is throwing money away. A pair of concrete mixers is clearly cheaper than a cruise missile, and Drones cause little damage. The only real point of attacks specifically on the runway is to shut down the airfield for a certain period for the subsequent gain of air superiority or for a large-scale offensive. Well, because... We don’t see this, then the result is only a waste of expensive resources.

This is at least the 10th strike on the airfield since mid-December 2023.

According to the idea, after the 10th strike on the airfield there should be nothing left of it. One of two things: 1) either the blow was far from the 10th, 2) or all 10 blows were nothing.
