The Russian fifth-generation fighter Su-57 has begun testing with a second-stage engine. As reported by the Rostec press service, the delivery of aircraft with a new power plant is planned under the existing contract.

As stated in the state corporation, today the aircraft has already begun flight tests with a new engine, and it is planned to supply the updated fighter to the troops under the current contract.

As part of the first contract, the Russian Aerospace Forces should receive 76 Su-57 fighters, some of them will go into service with the AL-41F1 first-stage engine, and some with the second-stage engine (product 30). According to statements made in 2019 - 2020, the Su-57 should receive a new power plant in the period from 2023 to 2025.
The Su-57 is a fifth-generation Russian multirole fighter designed using stealth technologies at Sukhoi Design Bureau. The fighter is designed to destroy air, ground and surface targets using air defense systems, long-range reconnaissance, as well as to destroy the control system aviation the enemy. It can fight alone and within the framework of the concept of a “single field”. The onboard control system accompanies up to 60 targets, while firing at 16 of them.
