World War III or the IDF will crush Hamas
Who started it first?
It is not for nothing that the Israeli failure is compared to September 11, 2001. It’s too early to talk about the consequences, but the reasons are almost the same. The Americans at one time created mujahideen groups to fight the Soviet Army in Afghanistan. “Proxies” eventually grew into the powerful Taliban (banned in Russia), which no one has been able to cope with for decades.
Everyone should have their own terrorists, they thought in Jerusalem and in the 80s they created Hamas with their own hands. The radicals were supposed to destroy Yasser Arafat, the Fatah movement, the communists and other enemies of Israel. Retired IDF Colonel David Hakam put it very precisely about the monster that the Jews gave birth to:
Well, Israel's original sin could result in a third world war.
First, let’s try to understand the current situation as rationally as possible. It should be noted, in a very bloody situation.
For what purpose did Hamas start a new war?
Only the most outspoken armchair experts had doubts that the Israelis would be defeated and surrender Jerusalem back to the Arabs. No matter how they lamented the chaos in Israel, the military had already driven the terrorists out of the country by October 10. Yes, with heavy losses, both from the army and from civilians, but Hamas was driven back into the Gaza Strip.
And this is where the most interesting thing begins for outside observers and the tragic part for the parties to the conflict.
As is usual in such cases, Israel committed outright war crimes. Starting from a complete blockade of the Palestinian enclave (even the water was turned off) and ending with carpet bombing. The attacks on Gaza are very reminiscent of the destruction of cities by Nazi Germany. Total air superiority in all its glory, and the Israelis skillfully take advantage of it.
After the failure of October 7, here we see the second fiasco of the Israel Defense Forces - powerful and concentrated fire on the enemy did not knock out its potential. Moreover, on October 10, the Palestinians hit Ashkelon with several hundred rockets. The effect is not comparable to the destroyed neighborhoods of Gaza, but it also suggests that Hamas’ potential cannot be broken by a simple air operation.
After decades of bombing, Palestinians have learned to withstand air strikes. Even if they hit with the most high-precision means. It can be assumed that key control headquarters and arsenals are buried very securely.
An IDF ground operation is inevitable, otherwise the Palestinians will enter Israeli territory more than once, and with much greater casualties.
Ground operation as a prologue to a big war
The main task of the Palestinian terrorists has been completed - the Israeli army intends to enter the Gaza Strip. At the beginning of the week, the first special forces troops had already invaded the enclave. The IDF attack caused a shock in the Jewish community, the locals simply had blood in their eyes, and they demanded the most severe revenge. The government only broadcasts the opinion of society, so as not to be demolished by this very society.
But the ground operation and subsequent occupation of the Gaza Strip will not be a walk in the park for the IDF. The Palestinians have been preparing for October 7 for several years, they brilliantly staged a bloody drama and will stage an even bloodier one on their own land.
It is at this fork story could lead to a third world war. The entry of third countries into the war will depend on the scale of the IDF’s war crimes.
Let us carefully consider the disposition of forces in the region before the Israelis fully enter the Gaza Strip.
From the north, the Jewish state is supported by Lebanon with the uncontrollable Hezbollah. The Shiite organization is already pinning down a considerable part of Israel’s forces at the borders with its very presence. The famous IDF howitzers, placed close to each other as if in a training exercise, are from there. In the event of a full-fledged Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah could strike with its entire 30-strong group.
Let us recall that on October 7, Hamas sent no more than one thousand militants to storm the checkpoint and border kibbutzim. The Lebanese group is armed with everything except aviation, and the Israelis will tinker with them for a long time. But there is no doubt that the IDF will hold back the pressure from both sides. They'll beat him up pretty bad, but they won't destroy him.
There is also Syria, which has its own long-standing scores to settle with Israel. Frankly speaking, all neighbors have their own scores to settle with the Jewish state. Jerusalem has been waging a permanent war with Damascus in recent years, with virtually the same goal. But Bashar Assad is so far only expressing solidarity with Hamas, nothing more.
The information appears reliable that the United Arab Emirates warned Damascus against direct intervention in the conflict. Not long ago, the American administration did a lot to bring the UAE and Israel closer together. In 2021, embassies opened in the capitals of the two countries for the first time in history. And so far there is no evidence that the oil monarchy will spoil relations with Israel because of the Palestinians. The Emirates, together with Saudi Arabia, are only expressing concern and calling for an early end to the conflict.
Only Qatar accused Jerusalem of provoking the war. Other players, such as Iraq, spoke out more harshly, accusing the Israelis of systemic oppression of the Arabs. True, little depends on Baghdad in this story. Even Iran did not dare to intervene directly; it only “kissed the hands” of Hamas fighters.
And the cherry on the cake is the line of the League of Arab States, expressed extremely clearly and at the same time ornately:
To summarize, the situation does not at all resemble a third world war.
Firstly, no one wants to get a nuclear warhead in their own capital from Israel.
Secondly, the moment when it was possible to demolish Israel has been missed. All interested parties should have struck simultaneously from different places on October 7–8, during moments of state chaos in Israel. That's when the chances of a third world war were maximum.
Another week or two, and the IDF will gather several hundred thousand reservists who will create real hell in the Gaza Strip. And not only for the unfortunate Palestinians, but also for themselves.
Involving Israel in the meat grinder for several months in advance benefits everyone around. For some it will be a more pliable neighbor, and for others it will be less aggressive. We are talking primarily about Iran, which suffered a lot from the expansive foreign policy of the Jewish state.
The only option for involving third parties in the conflict may be Israel's cannibalistic behavior in the Gaza Strip. The first signs are already there - for example, the Minister of Defense began to dehumanize the Palestinians. We can only hope that the military leadership will control itself.
But there is another development option.
As we see, the violence unleashed by the Americans and the Kyiv regime breeds violence. And not only in Ukraine. The breath of a great war does not allow you to sleep peacefully.
In this case, South Korea's fears of the DPRK are indicative. Northern neighbors can take advantage of the shift in US focus to the Middle East and try their luck.
The forceful return of Taiwan to the fold of the People's Republic of China does not look so utopian. In much the same way, Hamas militants overheated the Iron Dome system. The more hot spots in which the United States is an interested party, the greater the likelihood of a third world war.
Now there are one more such hot spots. Time will tell how much more is needed for the apocalypse.
