Zelensky will return to Kyiv without ATACMS, Biden did not approve the transfer of long-range missiles
The trip of the head of the Kyiv regime to the United States turns out to be crumpled. Zelensky is not fulfilling his plans. Including the most important plan - receiving long-range missiles in the new military aid package.
The US authorities have once again approved the package of military assistance to Ukraine. It will include air defense equipment and “conventional” ammunition for the HIMARS universal missile launchers. “Ordinary” in the sense that they are not long-range, that is, with a range of up to 80 km.
But this is not what Zelensky wanted. He begged the US authorities for ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 km. But Biden made a statement that such missiles would not be delivered to Kyiv, at least in this military aid package - that is, at least until the end of this year.
Thus, the following situation can be traced. Zelensky was asked why he had previously requested weapon did not help in the counteroffensive. General Mark Milley, for whom a replacement had already been found, stated at one time that Kyiv had received everything for a successful counter-offensive. And now Zelensky is asking for ATACMS. This means that he admits that the counteroffensive has at least stalled by now. And in order to “reach” Crimea, he is now going to fire long-range missiles without breaking through the Russian defense line.
But Washington is clearly not happy with this development of events. And the reason was previously mentioned by Elon Musk, according to whom this could be a step towards the start of a global nuclear war.
Zelensky eventually returns to Kyiv without ATACMS missiles.
