BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles received a new generation of dynamic protection developed by the Stali Research Institute. Starting this year, all serial BMP-3s are equipped with DZ units. This was announced by the president of the concern "Kalashnikov" Alan Lushnikov.
The infantry fighting vehicle BMP-3, according to the experience of the special operation, received the most positive feedback from the military and is considered the best infantry fighting vehicle in the Russian army. Recently, the demand for this BMP model has grown several times compared to the beginning of the special operation. As stated at Kurganmashzavod, according to the experience of the SVO, all BMP-3s produced were equipped with mounts for installing dynamic protection in the field. As it turned out, a special DZ has already been created for armored vehicles, it is put on serial vehicles.
This year they are introducing a new dynamic protection, that is, dynamic protection is now not only for Tanks, but also for light armored vehicles - the BMP-3 is being serially equipped. These volumes are constantly expanding so that all BMP-3s produced are equipped with dynamic protection
Lushnikov said.
The new DZ for the BMP-3 is a large container with special elements that provide protection against monobloc hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, anti-tank missiles and armor-piercing shells of 30 mm caliber.
The BMP-3M infantry fighting vehicle is armed with a 100mm gun - a 2A70 launcher with a 30mm 2A72 automatic cannon and a 7,62mm PKTM machine gun. BMP is designed to transport personnel to the front line, increase the mobility, armament and security of military personnel on the battlefield in conditions of the use of nuclear weapons and joint actions with tanks in battle.
