The number of machine guns is not reported, but the contract value is estimated at 111 million euros.

As clarified in the military department of the Netherlands, Amsterdam and Brussels last Thursday signed an agreement under which the Dutch are investing 355 million euros in Belgian industry. The contract for machine guns is part of this agreement, signed by the defense ministers of the two countries: from the Netherlands Kaisa Ollongren, from Belgium - her colleague Ludivine Dedonder.

As the first use of this amount, the Netherlands signed a €111 million contract with the Belgian firm FN Herstal to supply MAG machine guns to Ukraine.

The FN MAG is a single 7,62 mm machine gun developed in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale in the early 1950s based on the Browning M1918 automatic rifle. Differs in reliability and unpretentiousness. It is in service with the armies of more than 80 countries around the world, and is also produced under license in Argentina, Great Britain, Egypt, India, Singapore and the USA.
