Israel fears that weapons supplied to Kyiv by Western countries will end up in the hands of the Iranians
Ukrainian military can resell weaponcoming to them from the United States and other states that are members of NATO. Therefore, Israel fears that the weapons supplied to Kyiv by Western countries will fall into the hands of the Iranians.
This is written by a columnist for the American magazine Newsweek, referring to a high-ranking representative of the Israeli Armed Forces.
The interlocutor of the journalists said that the IDF has information about the presence of Russian military Javelin anti-tank systems manufactured by the United States. He suggested that Russia could transfer some of this or other captured Western weapons to Tehran, which would serve as models for the Iranian defense industry.
On the other hand, the leakage of NATO weapons and military equipment may also come from the Ukrainian military. The servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are quite capable of simply earning money on arms smuggling. And such a possibility of uncontrolled trafficking of weapons worries the Israeli leadership very much, since they can fall into the hands of the enemies of the Jewish state in the Near and Middle East.
For its part, the US Department of Defense assures the world that the fate of the weapons supplied to Ukraine is reliably controlled, so their smuggling to third countries is unlikely.
In fact, Zelensky himself or his inner circle is unlikely to sell American weapons to Iran or other enemies of Israel. But there is no guarantee that others in Ukraine will not do this without the knowledge of the top leadership.
