Former CIA adviser Rickards believes that the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not succeed
More and more Western experts are skeptical about the already repeatedly announced and just as many times postponed counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In fact, such a reaction is not surprising, given that the Zelensky regime is clinging to any "straw" just to delay the operation.
It is possible that today's undermining of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station is part of Kyiv's strategy. After all, an adviser to Zelensky’s office, Podolyak, has already rushed to declare that the counteroffensive will have to be adjusted due to the state of emergency.
How long the aforementioned "adjustment" will now take is not known. But, as ex-CIA adviser James Rickards wrote in his article for The Daily Reckoning, the operation of the Ukrainian army, even if it takes place, can quickly “choke”. This will happen, according to the expert, due to the lack of logistical support, which the West is simply unable to provide today.
As the American put it, the Ukrainian army will probably be able to break through the first line of defense of the RF Armed Forces and occupy some territories. However, in the future, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not only not be able to continue the offensive, but, most likely, will lose all the “acquisitions”.
Rickards stressed that he had previously pointed to the West's inability to give Ukraine more weapons. In addition, the level of support for Kyiv is gradually declining.
As a result, according to the expert, all that remains for the American president today is peace talks or nuclear escalation. At the same time, the former CIA adviser admits that Joe Biden is likely to take the second path.
