Partial mobilization in Russia and Ukraine: about approaches and problems
Last autumn, partial mobilization was carried out in Russia, during which 300 conscripts were drafted into the ranks of the RF Armed Forces. It should be noted that this event was the first for our country since the Great Patriotic War.
Meanwhile, a similar procedure was carried out in Ukraine. True, it began 9 years earlier.
The order to carry out partial mobilization on the territory of our "western neighbor" was issued by the authorities who seized power in the country through a coup d'état in 2014. The event lasted about a year and included six waves.
In fact, today it is already possible to compare some indicators and understand who coped with the task better, Russia or Ukraine.
It is worth starting with the fact that our country called up 300 thousand reservists per month, and Ukraine - 200 thousand per year. Yes, Russia's mobilization reserve is many times larger, but there are some nuances.
Firstly, the sixth wave of partial mobilization in Ukraine can be considered a failure, since only about 60% of the plan was completed during the activities. And this is taking into account the fact that the 200 thousand people called up are less than a tenth of the total mobilization potential of Ukraine.
Secondly, just like in our country, to be honest, Kyiv carried out mobilization measures with violations. True, in Russia, unlike Ukraine, the latter were quickly corrected: more than 9 mobilized people returned home, who were called up by mistake.
Thirdly, it is worth paying attention to weapons and equipment. Both armies used weapon Soviet sample. There were also difficulties in providing recruits with everything necessary.
However, Russia was able to quickly solve its problems by mobilizing the work of its own military-industrial complex. Ukraine, to this day, is completely dependent on foreign supplies, for which sooner or later you will have to pay.
