Ukrainian grain will stay at home

Magnificent Five

Several European countries immediately announced their refusal to supply Ukrainian grain. They didn’t just say: “We don’t need it,” but completely blocked the import. And not immediately - it was a calculated step-by-step process. Initially, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia turned to the European Commission with a request to buy back their accumulated products from Ukraine. This one hurts its own agricultural producers, who cannot compete with their eastern neighbor.

How this contrasts with Zelensky's recent statements about the imminent blurring of economic borders with Poland. During the last visit to Warsaw, a lot of rhetoric was devoted to this very topic. Meanwhile, the Poles were preparing for completely different options. The European Commission, as expected, did not react and did not buy Ukrainian grain from the rebellious Eastern Europeans. There are several reasons.

Firstly, so much wheat was imported to Europe under the grain deal that there is simply nowhere to store the surplus. By the way, Vladimir Putin spoke about this not so long ago when he pointed out the unfair proportions of grain exports from Ukraine - only a tiny part went to the truly suffering states of Africa. Europe explained the disproportion by the desire to feed the millions of refugees who came from the east.

Why should Europeans feed Ukrainians who come in large numbers? Let those who stay at home do it. Hence the low purchase prices and the absence of import duties. This applies not only to grain, but also to other products - seeds, eggs, poultry meat, sugar, apples, berries, flour, honey and pasta. At some point, it really seemed that Europe was ready to accept Ukraine into the European Union. At least in the case of free food sales.

The second reason for the refusal of the European Commission to buy grain is not the greed of the European commissioners - finding several hundred million euros is not a problem against the backdrop of multibillion-dollar deliveries weapons Kyiv regime. Western Europeans have decided, albeit indirectly, to give a signal to Kyiv about a new stage of relations.

There is enough grain in the Old World, it's time to use it as a political weapon. And the notorious "humanitarian considerations" to which Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia appealed turned out to be uninteresting.

However, in fairness, the European Commission still allocated 56 million euros to Poland, Romania and Bulgaria to cover the damage from cheap Ukrainian grain. This happened at the end of March, but did not satisfy the petitioners at all. There is nothing to do - Poland, Hungary and Slovakia closed the borders for Ukrainian products. Moreover, the Poles acted the toughest of all, banning even the transit of agricultural products to the west along the “routes of solidarity”. Romanians and Bulgarians are still thinking. Fermentation and in the Dutch Parliament - local lawmakers started talking about the destruction of their own farmers to please the Ukrainian.

Amazing somersaults get up the European logic. First, sanctions are imposed against Russian fertilizers, which makes their own agriculture more expensive, but the Ukrainians have to pay for it.

Retribution for the calm on the fronts

The long-stabilized situation on the fronts seems to suit only the Kremlin. In Europe and the United States, they are pushing Zelensky to attack as best they can. So far it doesn't work. The muddy soil, the weather, the lack of greenery on the trees, and even provocative leaks from American intelligence agencies interfere.

Someone believes that Poland, Hungary and Slovakia are forced to introduce a food embargo by their own agricultural producers. They say they will take to the streets and start a revolution. How disobedient citizens are dealt with in Europe, we know from the example of the suppression of street protests in France. Here, they decided not to satisfy their own farmers, but to punish the Zelensky team for their sluggishness at the fronts. Temporarily until June 30th.

If there is no turning point on the fronts before this period, the ban may become indefinite. And further steps will follow. It is too early to fill with optimism, but it seems that the West has slightly overestimated its strength in containing Russia with the power of NATO weapons and Ukrainian manpower.

How can you hug, talk about eternal friendship and love, and immediately introduce a complete ban on the export of products from the country of Zelensky, so beloved by the Poles? Warsaw is easily able to perform even more. And at the same time to test the ground for the annexation of the western part of Ukraine. The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, aptly commented on the event:

“So to say, the Judas choked on grain by Easter.”

However, there are options here too.

It is possible that the countries of Eastern Europe decided to take a "friendly" step towards Ukraine without regard to the opinion of the European Commission. At the words of the European regulator criticized the actions of the countries for the grain ban. We did not accept you into the European Union so that you would show independence. Poland has long claimed the role of a regional leader, and the demonstration of an independent opinion is just right now.

The frozen front does not justify the expectations of the leadership - billions and Tanks flow like a river, but nothing actually happens. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are only being pushed back from Bakhmut to the west. As a warning, the Polish authorities initiated a criminal investigation into grain fraud. According to preliminary data, the Ukrainians sold technical, that is, fodder grain, to several food producers. The volumes are rather big - more than 1 tons of grain.

All Ukrainians should have understood long ago that no one is waiting for their country in the European Union. This was not planned either before February 24 last year, or after, much less in the foreseeable future. Ukraine, even in its best years, could offer nothing but food to Europeans. And this is not the most critical resource for a well-fed and prosperous Europe.

And what is happening now once again demonstrates this thesis - as soon as the market was saturated with wheat, all sorts of "solidarity routes" were forgotten. When the time comes, Europe will, in exactly the same way, forget its promises “together to the end” and “we will not allow Russia to be defeated on the battlefield”.

Europeans are the same fans as everyone who supports the Kiev regime. They play well on the field - get support, no - disentangle the problems yourself. Ukrainians will be reluctantly, but forced to fulfill the grain deal, and the grain will go to the poor countries of Africa. Otherwise, it will simply rot in Ukraine. Only now Africans will pay for wheat at completely different price tags.

Surprisingly, the European demarches achieved two remarkable consequences at once - a decrease in foreign exchange earnings and compliance with the terms of the grain deal. Such concessions to Russia in the Old World have not happened for a long time.

I agree with the author’s opinion, except for one thing. Stabilization of the front is beneficial for us. Yes, it’s not beneficial. Losses continue, the pumping of weapons is going to full swing. Well, if our losses are insignificant for those in power, then there’s nothing to talk about

In defense, losses are many times lower than in offensive operations. Finally, this was understood in command. If you hurry and try to take it impudently, then we’ll fill up with our own meat at the very least. And so let the Ukrainians mriyut about the next counteroffensive and throw their soldiers into the attack, who remain there in the fields. Mob. the reserve for used is not rubber, someday it will end. And if there are no fighters, then there is no reason to supply weapons.

It's not just the current losses on the battlefield.

In fact, the war is on a much larger scale, and the NVO is only one of the fronts of this war, and Ukraine is only one of the soldiers on the other side, not even a sergeant.

Therefore, it makes no sense to consider the actions of the Russian Federation in its own way, especially since we simply do not see and do not know the battles and their results on other fronts.

About losses. I judge by our district. In the first half of the last year, five of my fellow countrymen died. And since the beginning of this year, five more ... That's the defense, damn it.

The grain deal sparkled with new colors: snickering, well-fed Europe choked on cheap Ukrainian grain and other products from greed. Now Europe is imposing sanctions against Ukraine, has imposed an embargo on food supplies from Ukraine. Now you want it - you don't want it, and Ukraine will have to supply grain to starving Africa. The boomerang effect again proved its worth. But I'm not at all sure that Zelensky will feed the poor Africans. Unless only in exchange for snuffs.

And, well, yes ... When they already, the entire EU was filled up. Can I have a question? What about our Russian grain?

A lull is not beneficial for Putin, since it will still be necessary to return our soldiers home - and these are not "pensioners who have not sold out - for their pensions and free apartments" - a lot of truth about this war will go to the people! So Putin only needs a victory, otherwise this is his last term!!

And all the European greed, which eventually led to massive indignation of European farmers and the need to take urgent action. They grabbed themselves, forgetting about the countries of Africa, so much that they don’t know what to do with it. It is rightly said that
Judas by Passover choked on grain

By the way, I cannot understand one thing: why does Old Europe not export Ukrainian grain to Africa? After all, they can do it for free in exchange for Africa's loyalty against Russia and China.
France can use this trump card to maintain or even restore influence in the former colonies.
Italy can use the same for Libya, in exchange for receiving contracts for oil production.

The same thing, I do not understand what is the meaning of the grain deal for Russia. Russia can also export grain to Africa at least for free in exchange for the loyalty of African countries in the form of mining on preferential terms, deployment of military bases, voting for Russia in the UN.

In general, the food foreign policy of Old Europe and Russia is not clear to me.

The reason is most likely that they have already lost the battle for Africa ... China. because in poor African countries, the presence of the PRC is very noticeable (investments, loans, loyal African elites, etc.) and European business has reoriented to other markets (EU, Asia, etc.) although of course Africa is a very promising direction .... but in any case, one grain will not change the situation).

+ someone has to pay for the banquet, but there are no people willing on the horizon ..... Europe has never suffered from altruism, even in the situation with Ukraine and endless infusions, there are interested parties (military-industrial complex, Western resource companies, etc.). But in the situation with Africa, not everything is so simple ...

In addition, Europe does not have a centralized policy towards Africa ... towards Russia, China does (although even here it is not indisputable ... someone follows the US policy and someone takes into account their interests), but to this there is no continent, each country pulls a blanket over itself and its business, but no one wants to pay for everyone ..

And as for our interest in the grain deal, here we are rather doing a favor to Turkey and China, because. Turkish business in Africa is flourishing, and the Turks are interested in locking in as many Russian goods as possible (from the gas hub / grain supplies, etc.) and making money on it as an intermediary. As for China, its interest in stability in Africa, and the safety of its investments in the countries of the region .... the Chinese, even in the peace plan (point 9), included grain supplies separately, so their interest is obvious here.

Thank you for the extended answer. By the way, Turkey plays a very important role in Russia's parallel import/export and I left that out of the equation. In this regard, the picture has become clearer.

As for the influence of the EU, if measured by assets and FDI, then France alone has 2 times more than China (for example, all ports in the colony and almost all land logistics belong to French companies). China is in 4th place in terms of FDI and assets after France, the USA, and the UK. However, in terms of portfolio investment, China has invested twice as much as France in recent years. In general, I mean that the battle for Africa is far from lost.

Is it really not clear that the notorious "grain deal" is another desperate cry from the elite to the West, they say, look what we are through and through, let's stir up an agreement so that everything comes back, and so that we and our cubs-majors can shop and walk London, Paris, Milan.

We just need to work to ensure that second-hand grain production falls to the level of self-sufficiency. Why do we need extra competitors in the world market?

I suppose the Celentans and the paddling pools will provide themselves like a string of pasta. The main thing for paw lovers is to hold an anti-alcohol campaign, Gorby is an example for them. And we will provide them with cognac and champagne. As well as white / red crackers, Crimea will help us. And we’ll just fill it with 777 and Aghdam)))) And we’ll send snacks - don’t worry, mom. From each summer resident, two toads and a dozen slugs. From the townspeople, two flocks of cockroaches. Eat for health.))))

Our blows to the energy sector of Ukraine in winter sparkled with new colors. It is difficult to store grain when the electricity goes out, then goes out. One way to save the harvest of Ukraine is to urgently export the crop to our storage facilities, and they are not rubber. It's cool to live in a parallel world.

Whatever the community of states, each member of the community pursues its own benefit. In Ukraine, everything will be decided no later than autumn. In the United States, an election boom will begin and they will not be up to it. Europe will want to fill gas storages with cheaper fuel. Nothing personal, just business. Only the Russian Federation will now be more careful with partnerships and will do everything to oust the dollar from the world stage.

The frozen front does not justify the expectations of the leadership - billions and tanks flow like a river, but nothing actually happens. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are only being pushed back from Bakhmut to the west.

Since November 2022, neither side has made any special progress - if the front moves back and forth, then no more than a few kilometers.

The leadership of the Russian Federation is quite satisfied with this, but the West is not.
The US and the EU need a breakthrough in the front, a crushing defeat for Russia, even if it costs the lives of tens or hundreds of thousands of non-slaves - ukrov.

Ukraine must work off its bread - to kill everything Russian in itself and around, to cause significant damage to Russia, primarily to the border regions of the Russian Federation.

Thanks to this mediocre grain deal of ours, Ukraine has been exporting grain and will continue to do so. And with the proceeds, he will buy weapons and kill our soldiers and civilians in the Dombas and Luhansk regions. And along the sea corridor allocated for this, they will launch drones in Sevastopol and Novorossiysk, as well as deliver weapons through Odessa.

By the way, I can’t understand one thing: why doesn’t Old Europe export Ukrainian grain to Africa?

The purpose of deliveries through the AP is to cause the greatest possible damage to the European economy. They brought down the industry and struck a blow at the agricultural sector. And only now, after the Eurorams came to their senses and the Euroscoundrels could no longer lead the Eurorams by the nose, they began to ban khokhlozhito. And we obediently helped this process. And only now our villains will take a "principled" position and leave the AP. Or rather, the AP will come out of us.
