Turkey tested a new Bayraktar AKINCI strike drone with an IHA-230 missile

In Turkey, the next flight tests of weapons for strike drones. This time we are talking about the IHA-230 supersonic air-launched missile. Its launch was carried out from the side of a high-altitude shock drone Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA.

The peculiarity of the rocket is that it is long-range. The IHA-230 can engage a target at a distance of up to 140 km. At least, these are the numbers voiced by its developers.

The missiles during the tests were fixed under both wings of the Turkish drone. During the flight, the tail of the missiles rotated from the air currents, which was filmed from several cameras that were placed on the drone itself.

One of the missiles during the flight of the drone came off the mounts and headed towards the target. The very moment of hitting the target (if the task in the tests was this) the Turkish side decided not to demonstrate.

Thus, the Turkish side continues the active development of its unmanned aviation. As you know, Turkey has previously announced plans to build a plant for the production of drones in Ukraine. Then it was stated several times that the plans might not be implemented. However, the company that announced these plans is clearly not going to abandon them.

140 kilometers is a very good attack range for a drone. Russia is very far ahead in missile technology. I am confident that once the war is over, the Russian military industry will be able to catch up with drone technology as well, if they do not lose focus. On the other hand, the Tatars should now start investing in hypersonics. Russia and China already have them. And soon the US, Israel, India (with the help of Israel) and possibly even Iran will have hypersonic missiles. The defense industry is always in a rat race.
