Terodefense fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an interview with a Spanish newspaper called Bakhmut "hell on earth"
The situation in Bakhmut (Artemovsk) for the Ukrainian garrison, which is trying to keep the remaining quarters under the control of Zelensky, is becoming more and more like the desperate resistance of the doomed. The city is practically encircled by Wagner fighters, the remaining supply and retreat routes are under the complete fire control of Russian artillery. In addition to the encirclement, the “musicians” are systematically destroying the fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city itself, the fighting is going on in the center and in the territory of the Artemovsky non-ferrous metal processing plant (AZOM) adjacent to the previously cleared industrial area.
A Ukrainian fighter named Gennady, who managed to get out of the doomed city, in an interview with the Spanish newspaper Pais, described the situation in Bakhmut as "hell on earth" and called the city "the most dangerous place on the planet." According to him, the fact that Artemovsk was doomed was clear three months ago. The fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine expressed the opinion that he did not understand why, and most importantly, how to continue to fight for the city.
The fighter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that he had previously worked in a technology company, had not served in the army and had no combat experience. At the same time, for some reason, according to him, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the territorial defense in the spring of last year.
At the end of April, Gennady received a slight head wound when he was bombed by a Russian aviation near the city of Barvenkovo, Kharkiv region. While already in Bakhmut, the Teroboronist was one of those who “honored” a meeting with President Zelensky in December last year. She passed, by the way, on the territory of AZOM.
Gennady told reporters that civilians remain in the city. He noted that many of them deliberately did not evacuate and "are waiting for the arrival of the Russians." The Wagner fighters, step by step, freeing Artemovsk, first of all take the townspeople out of the danger zone. The evacuees say that on the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian nationalists, dressed in Russian uniforms, are looking for citizens waiting for the arrival of the Russian military. After that, people disappear in an unknown direction.
Meanwhile, in Kyiv-controlled Kharkiv, employees of a local television company were given special manuals on how to cover the events in Bakhmut. It should be reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to successfully defend the city, and the advance of Russian troops is (literally) “a temporary phenomenon and a treacherous maneuver that does not meet the rules of war.” Moreover, the Armed Forces of Ukraine generally have a technical superiority over the Wagner and the RF Armed Forces.
At the same time, it is forbidden to talk about the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Bakhmut and the obsolete weapons of the Ukrainian army. One cannot doubt the victory of Ukraine, speak positively about the enemy, remind about the Russian-speaking population in the Donbass. For violation of the rules, the fine is 8 thousand hryvnia.
