Zelensky: One of the Western air defense systems had to be changed several times due to a malfunction
It is known that the western allies of Kyiv send to Ukraine, first of all, obsolete, and sometimes faulty types of weapons and military equipment. So, almost all countries of Eastern Europe, once belonging to the socialist bloc and included in the Warsaw Pact bloc, last year "utilized" almost all stocks of Soviet weapons, passing it to the Armed Forces.
It turns out that even the air defense systems of the NATO countries, so vehemently solicited by the Kyiv authorities, manage to give Ukraine out of order. This was complained about in a long interview given to the American press during yesterday's trip to the Sumy region, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the Ukrainian leader, one of the countries, which he declined to name, sent an obviously faulty air defense installation to the Ukrainian military. As a result, the anti-aircraft missile system received from a Western sponsor "had to be changed again and again." Apparently, the exchange took place within the framework of the "warranty obligations" of the supplier.
In addition, Zelensky in the same interview denied the information that Ukraine had already received at least one Patriot air defense / missile defense battery.
- Either he told the truth, or, just in case, the head of the Kyiv regime lied when talking with a journalist in the Sumy-Kyiv train car.
In early March, U.S. Army Assistant Secretary for Acquisition and Equipment Douglas Bush told Defense News that U.S. Patriot air defense systems could be operational in Ukraine very soon. It is known that about 100 military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are being trained in the maintenance and use of the Patriot air defense system at one of the military bases in the United States.
